Great vids. After my years of fishing the Welsh coast , day and night through all weathers! I feel Geordie’s excitement when he visits his marks. Enjoy your fishing and stay safe . Thank you for the vid.
I know, it's hard to contain the excitement, I’m like a kid in a sweet shop whenever I get to go fishing. Glad you like them and thanks for taking the time to comment👍
Great to see the channel growing, didn’t realise how much it had gone up. Congrats. Noticed you using the thumb cannon. I just couldn’t get it going. Gave up on it after a couple sessions. That was about 5 year ago, might have to give it another crack. I was probably doing it wrong. I’ve never had anything from that mark. It’s a place I’ve tried half a dozen times over the years and every time I think - wow, looks a perfect mark but for me it’s never produced.
I'm surprised it's got so much traction since I post so sporadically... They're a great piece of kit. I got sick of losing my finger guard so tried the cannon out. Wouldn't fish without it now. Up to this point I'd only lure fished it in summer but I'll definitely go back. Just feels like a fishy mark.
@@SlippyLimpets I’d really like that and would love to try your style of fishing and location. Same is reciprocal down this end if you find yourself this way, boat or shore.
Keep meaning to fish up by the castle but keep heading other side of the village or the beaches up from bulmer .old habits.rough ground try a lead lift and one big 7/0 .great vid. O yeah forgot ...dirty squid seems to works well on the rough stuff.
I know that you mean about old habits. the beach I normally fish has been mobbed recently so have made an effort to try marks I've not fished before. Thanks for the tip, one hook makes more sense than two, and I've got some dirty squid in the freezer so will give that a go too. 👍
Thanks, will do! My usual marks are rammed this season so i'm working my way north. Not fished from the shore in Berwickshire but looking forward to it/👍🎣
100% agree with the pulley, i was thinking how they work and it just doesnt offer good bite detection pleased you think the same ! i do like an up and over though!
Try adding a sliding stop not to the body of a pulley pennel to allow it to fish like a fixed pennel rig, the weight of the fish will allow weight to slide through.
Fished up there for the newbiggen open 2021 nothing caught but love the place for fishing pity its a bit far to travel for club comps caught my PB up there 👍you should hold your rod you will get better bite detection
It's a lush place to fish! I know it's a bit unorthodox but using braid I like my rod in the rest, tend to keep a hold of the braid too, just like touch ledgering. Makes it easier to sort out camera equipment and change batteries
Great content, when your fishing would it be possible to mention about parking I,e were u park if u have to pay. I want to try a lot of these places but it’s all dependent on parking. Keep up the great content. 🎣
Thanks and I'll try to remember that for you, but if it helps, I don't remember the last time I had to pay for parking at one of these places. Hope you enjoy them
Brilliant video as always mate. Like others have said, when you can’t get to the coast, because of lockdown etc, your videos really help me feel like I am there with my mates fishing. Really appreciate it. 😁 Quick question for you and others reading this message if I may. Just doing my VHF radio exam in order to carry a small hand held one (like your good self) for safety when I am shore fishing. When I finally get round to purchasing the radio, do you and others following the channel, have a recommendation of one to go for or even ones to steer clear of? Stay safe everybody, Tight lines. 👍🏻
My pleasure mate, glad you like them👍👍 Not sure of which radio to steer clear of but because they're safety equipment, I wouldn't skimp too much. I've got a Cobra HH500 and rate it because it's not broken yet. Also, it has blue-tooth so I can take and make phone calls without needing to touch my phone, so have 999 set on a speed dial. Can stream music through it too😊
Yeah the weather hasn't been great, these southerly and westerly winds have been a real pain. Luckily lockdown rules say we can travel for recreation so am taking full advantage of it 😃
It was good to meet you up there. I think my memory card corrupted with that session on it. Gutted. Was on that beach again recently and it had nearly 40 rods on it. Couldn't beleive it when I turned up- not seen it like that in the 8 years I've fished there!
@@SlippyLimpets it's been really busy for the last few weeks! Think theres alot of people taking up sea fishing with all this covid stuff hopefully see you down there again soon!
Eyup Nathan. Oh yes - the bites come when you pour a coffee and start rolling a tab. Thanks for this one and maybe the Cod will get bigger for you as winter comes on. Sithi after, Dave
Alreet Dave, It's always the same but the taking a leak trick seems to have not been working that well for me, been a pretty poor season for me so far but hopefull I can find some good fish before the end of December and the season winds down. Stay safe 👍🎣
There's something in that-Last season every time I took a leak I'd get a bite, this season it's whenever I roll a smoke! I used to use circles as my pennel hook but I always got hung up if I didn't get a bite on that cast, so stopped using them. Might revisit them. A theory I'm thinking about is to use smaller baits, then there's a better hook to bait ratio. Glad you liked the video 👍👍
@@SlippyLimpets ah fair enough! Never struggled with hang ups but I tend to use a single circle (mustad demons). Would be awesome to see a comparison vid! Keep up the great content!
I love that mark.. amazing location to fish but you've got to be devoted to make the hike with your gear. Thanks for the video.. tight lines and stay safe from a fellow North Tynesider 👍😎👍
Aye, it is a bit of a hike! I try to travel light but it's hard with cameras, tripod and spare batteries in the box. Thanks for watching and tight lines mate 👍🎣
It's a great rod, seems to work well on most ground. Good value compared to Century or Zzippy, which can be a couple of hundred quid more. I don't know any one else with one, it's a shame they're like rocking horse sh*t to get a hold of!.
i will watch just munching a minute lol well munch finished video watched and another easy to watch video nice work mate wish you could do a video everyday stay safe take care and have fun until the next one ...be happy
@@septicsceptic419 Yea it could have been. Now that I’ve actually checked the video description I see it is the Ultegra XSC. This Shimano range has always puzzled me to be honest. 27lb is a monster!! my biggest is 12 but that was from a beach, so no worries getting it out. I do tend to make a plan of how to get a big one out- if I was lucky enough to hook one, my plan was to walk it around to a gully on the left side of where I was fishing and get closer to the water...maybe next time 😃
