SENTOSA COVE Insider Tour🏖️ Visiting a Landed House, Condo and Yacht

  • Sentosa Cove is one of Singapore' most expensive and luxurious neighborhood. I am visiting a landed house, a condo and a yacht around this neighborhood.
    Sentosa is most widely known as a tourist island in Singapore with Universal Studios, aquarium, beaches and other fun attractions. But it is also where the affluent lives in.
    People living in Sentosa Cove have a totally different lifestyle from normal Singaporeans. What are their life like? What amenities do they get to enjoy? What kind of houses do they live in? Join me to find out together.
    Big thanks to CL, Ishiwata-san and Ed.

    It's definitely interesting to see another perspective of the upper class's living aside from most middle class folks living here. Though it saddens me at the same time, knowing that there are many of us won't reach that level of privilege in our lifetime.
    Still, I count my blessings everyday knowing that I can enjoy simple meals with family and have a roof over my head.

      Lol, what privilege? Everyone who is successful worked for what they have. There's no luck or privilege, it's blood, sweat, tears and smarts.

      @@edenassos you shouldn't discredit others who don't have the opportunity to move up in society.
      Unless you're born with a silver spoon, growing your wealth in Singapore these days requires a lot of resources, connections and luck. That's just how it is.
      I don't deny that to be successful, you need to put in the time and effort but the factors I've mentioned do play a big part in moving up your social status, which there are many households simply can't achieve that within their lifetime.

      Hard work alone earns you millions at most
      Hard work + good luck and timing earns you billions
      You don’t get to a billion dollars through just “hard work”, you also have to be at the right place and at the right time, selling the right product that everyone wants to pay for at that particular moment in time. Or, you could just be born into a billionaire household.
      To own property in Sentosa Cove and a yacht in Singapore you practically need to be a billionaire, or have at least hundred million dollars in liquidity. The owner of those property in the video definitely isn’t just a hard worker alone.

    • @edenassos
      @edenassos 3 роки тому +9

      @@alexs_33 There are opportunities out there for anyone to grab on to, countless amounts of problems to solve. Money makes it easier, but even billionaires make shitty business decisions. As long as one has a basic formal education and pursues ongoing informal education, it's not out of bounds at all. Most people don't move up the social ranks not because they can't but because they don't have the motivation and they share your thinking so they just give up and work for someone else instead in an office or hard labour. Also, most schools train people to become employees, that's the biggest problem. Most billionaires(excluding old money) end up billionaires because money is not their first priority, solving the problem is.

    • @edenassos
      @edenassos 3 роки тому +10

      @@notting2640 Notice I didn't use the term 'hard work' because that's just dumb. I added 'smarts' after 'blood, sweat and tears'. It's nothing new for people to discount success' major factor as luck, and hence they think if they don't succeed, it's because they're "unlucky". That's just a damaging mentality and a significant part of why poverty and class stagnation is rampant today. I don't think Thomas Edison was sitting and hoping for luck to get the lightbulb working. Timing is definitely a thing, but when you have a good product, you will be rewarded in more than just money if not now, then a year or even a decade later yet most people don't even take the first step. I'm a businessman and VC and when I meet someone, I ask them questions to see if they'd want to turn an idea into reality(since I'm busy with other ventures and can't stretch myself that thin), how it works is I'd provide the idea and the technical steps on how to achieve it along with the funding, and 9/10 of people end up saying no. Most people just want to stay in their comfort zone. Take Singapore for an example, Singaporeans don't have a culture of experimentation(a lot of it definitely has to do with how most things are illegal) and not many people seek to become entrepreneurs. This needs to be changed. Anyway it will become an autobiography if I continue so I will stop here.

    It is natural to feel envy or inspired to be like them if one is ambitious. However, we know the price they paid to get to where they are now and they deserve it if done in proper and legal sense. However, real happiness and fulfilment in life is not just having this luxury but inner peace and contentment no matter what station of life one has arrived.

    A rich man remains poor if he can't start conversation, give value to random people everyday and making them smile. Come to realized it the hard way having it all and having lived such life myself in another country. Waking up to the same house... all the loneliness (yes the wealthy do not interact with neighbours), imagine having to down dress to blend into your local community so that you can interact with commoners and give more values to them. Ultimately, life is about giving back.

It ain't just with HDB, been to ghetto district with attempts to connect with residents, and believe it not, to some holding onto 'Face value and state of being a bigshot is utmost important thing. One do not speaks for all, all do not speak for one, there are those living in landed houses/HDB going round interacting with everyone because of their abundance and confidence mindset. We cant call everyone high ego, haolian, kiasu, kiasi behavior like they said. Maybe back where I was from, rich live with highly scarcity mentality

Certainly not the Singapore that I want to live in. If rich expats wish to spend their money in that way, let them. Most of that money was made overseas anyway. Exotic yes… but not the most luxurious. :) bukit timah/Holland areas have astonishing bungalows in privacy at astronomical prices. It will cost maybe 20-30m for a 8000sqf house in sentosa (99 years), but bukit timah bungalows can cost up to $100m (freehold) and 4-5x bigger. However, foreigners can only buy landed homes in Sentosa.

      The other way around. Foreigners can't buy GCBs/good class bungalows. Only condos

    Nice place. However these landed house, condo and yacht all lack one thing which my house has. That is height. I live on the 18th flr and I enjoy the vast view and fresh air. When I opened the window, I can "look down" on them. Muhahahaha 😊
