Love your idea of making the fins and adding them afterwards. I always get hung up making Bass and trout by having to calculate where the fins are going to be while carving their shape rather than focusing on the streamline body of the fish. I have a video of an early trout I did but my Bass were improved from that. Wish I recorded them. Great work man!
Thanks! I competed in chainsaw art speed carving competition for years and to get it done quick with any chance of fins not breaking easily they almost have to be add ons. Search "Reedsport Chainsaw Carving Competion" if you are interested in contests. I bolted north and gave up carving contests and will focus on drone racing instead. Alaska is on many peoples bucket list to visit. In some of my videos you can see we have a motorhome, a 35 foot classic "Spartan" brand trailer, 2 small campers and a spare 2 bedroom house. Fly to Anchorage and rent a car, no charge for camping in our campers. we don't fear grizzly bears or visitors
