In my village, one time a year, we celebrate the woods festival and people coming from all parts of Italy do statues with chainsaws in the wood and then villagers vote for the best. At the least, we put all the wood statues around the village.

Do you not have local artists in Germany? My grandma went to Belgium and my request was for wooden shoes. Definitely a cultural thing mainly found in the Netherlands she insisted they wouldn’t be found in Belgium. She not only found them. They carved them for her in a garage and had homemade knitted booties. They fit like a glove. I had no idea how comfortable they are. They were my consolation prize for not getting to go. I didn’t really want anything so I picked something she might only find at a tourist shop and told her not to worry if she didn’t. It backfired because she hunted for some. I wasn’t thinking that she felt bad because I had cancer and I was too disabled to make the trip to see my estranged father.
My god the artisan in this ability is just amazing I do spray paint art and it doesn’t come close to this piece of beauty ! Oh and the fox is beautiful too! Lol no seriously you must have a talent very few sculptors have and the vision to see a fax out of a block of wood is just amazing!
