Well, a great 16+ miles of hiking. Thank goodness you landed on the most padded part of the body (everybody's, not only yours) when you fell. A quote from a poem by Robert Burns - "The best laid plans of mice and men oft' go awry ...and leave us nothing but grief and pain, for promised joy." Your situation reminded me of when my family went down to a little town (Georgetown, TN, just north of Cleveland, TN) to move my mom from Tennessee to Indiana to be with the rest of the family and once we had packed up her belongings the intent was to find a hotel in Cleveland for the night before heading north. Turned out, there was a huge softball tournament in town for that weekend... not a room to be had anywhere and it was about 9 p.m. Today being the 11th, I'm certain that unless you fell into a vortex somewhere that you have finished your hike. I hope you had lots of people there for your finish and are now on your way towards more great adventures in life. Do yourself a favor, go back and look at your Big Three video and look at the person that was pre hike, then come back and look at this Mosey. Think about the changes, both physically and mentally. You might surprise yourself. Carry on, Mosey!
It’s Nov 11th as I am watching this and having some excitement that you just may be finished! So exciting! How nice to have some people celebrate with you! 🎉
I ended up with the same situation of needing to find a place near Bear Mountain during Army football. Stayed in Tuxedo and had to shuttle. Timing is everything.
So that means by today (the 11th) you're already finished. Wahoo!!!! I've been following along since before you hit the trail and I'm super stoked that you finally finished! Congrats! Can't wait to see how these last couple weeks on trail go.
Beautiful day. Hope your feet improved after a good wash. Sorry you missed Halloween with your niece. Sounds like you’ll have quite a crowd on your final day.😊❤.
We've never met, but I am so happy for you. Way to keep walking!! I am curious as to how many times you fell and were any of them serious? Hoping congratulations are in order at this point!!
She doesn't tend to reply to comments, but since I've been following her trek from the beginning, I can pretty well answer your question regarding falls of consequence, there have been two. The first was about a month ago, she actually broke a bone in her ankle, and thank goodness she was with friends that helped carry her pack and get her to safety and medical attention. She had to vortex for several days to allow the swelling and pain to go down. The second was somewhere about 10 days ago, she fell and likely bruised her tail bone, hence the mention of the tail bone in this video. I know she has fallen other times, but I can't tell you how many times. The ankle is really the only one that put her in danger of being knocked off trail.
@@ginalou1960 I think I vaguely recall that. It's been a long hike and I'm sure I don't remember all the details. The two I mentioned were the ones I remembered were maybe because they were more recent?
Congratulations on finishing the Appalachian trail. You have inspired me with your videos I'm glad you completed it. I have a goal of completing what you did hopefully once I retire. I was following someone else that started before you and dropped out. I was at work when I deleted following them. When I return to UA-cam several hours later to find someone new to follow UA-cam had you already in line looked at how many videos you had and did marathons to catch up with you. You must feel great and you should. When I do it in 2027 by then maybe I'll have my own UA-cam channel hope you'll follow me. I will be a flip-flopper just like you. If I completed completed 20 minutes from my home. Hopefully having friends and family to meet on my final day. Feel great about what you did and you should.
Do you have one question for you though. I'll be 62 when I hit the trail have been hiking all of my life. Have you come across many people who are in the 60s who did complete the trail that you know of you got two years to answer so no rush. Enjoy your free time no rush to answer my question.
You're so lucky with the weather this year. It hasn't rained much and it's been way warmer than normal.

@@ChuckNute-i4b thank you. I have followed her off and on and I forgot about the broken ankle. I am surprised she only had to take a few days off.
@@tlosgolf Very lucky, indeed!
@@ChuckNute-i4b she did fall on her face once, but was glad she did not mess it up but kind of hurt her knee
