OMG, I've never seen Ben so frustrated! " F$$'king BEAVER!... glad to see some candid shots and showcase how things can go 'sideways' even when you are fully prepared. Thank you for the entertainment!
I was there the summer of 2019, 2 guys and no gear, and we were dragging bottom, and we were up to our knees in mud hoping we could get to Norway. We had to abandon the trip. I will never go there again!
Nice video guys. Yup sometimes the water levels will getcha and other times help you. In Quetico we have to jump a few beaver dams occasionally. This years Wabakimi paddle yielded some nice high waters and made for some great paddling, we lined a few, ran a few swifts due to the water levels, but a few of the creeks we were indeed almost touching bottom due to beaver activities. Take care guys.....Fred
Still looks like you guys made the best of a crappy situation! I'm guessing you had to do the same trek out? I'd still take a trip like that over my best day at work!!!
Alginquin let you book the site, the outfitters let me book 2 canoes that they drop-off on a busy highway, no one tells you that Sunday Creek is not navigable during the summer.
Any idea if they cleared the dam last year? I just booked 2 nights on Norway for August with some first timers. Hoping not to put them through anything like this
I did go back in June or July last year. The dam is still there but there was plenty of water and it wasn't a problem. August might be lower water. Just keep checking with the park as it gets closer. And pack light. :)

How was the fishing?

Yes. Me too! The way out was tough but not quite as bad. That video will be up soon.

Looks brutal!

Don't go. There is low water in the summer and the rangers won't tell you it's not navigable.
I tried 2 years ago in August and I was knee deep in swamp mud. 2 guys and no gear could not get through there.
It completely ruined my trip. I was so fed up I stayed one night at Canisbay and went home, since nothing else was available.
hey, wondering if you ended up going and had any issues. Planning on going later July this year
I hope you don’t have to go back through that mess again ! 🇨🇦👍
What a horrible trip!
Definitely think the park office should have warned you about the low waters.!
Thumbs up for all the cussin. F'n beaver
That was nasty ! They should have told you guys. I hope you complained and told the park people. That was not right.
