I don't agree with Eren's actions but Gaadaym, these people sending titans plus forming a world Alliance and making weapons to end people who have been mind wiped and secluded for centuries. They were asking for it
Eren going off the deep end reminds me of poor Daenerys from Game of Thrones. If only she was raised to be a good queen, then she wouldn't have destroyed King's Landing and break the hearts of all of her fans.
The world of Attack on Titan is drawn to be a miserable one to live in. Remember guys, the world beyond the walls also wanted to put an end to a whole people and society. Marley also wanted to commit genocide. The civilization within the walls was also very corrupt and cruel, where a few powerful (the military police, the royal family, the nobles) ruled over a poor, clueless, powerless majority living in the outer walls. The world of Attack on Titan is morally rotten, especially for the people of the Walls. The government within the walls was itself corrupt and oppressive. Only a caged world like the one in the Walls would produce a person like Eren Jaeger.
@@cassie6146 I agree but what I was actually trying to show here was that Eren didn't almost eradicate the populations beyond the walls by himself, that is, it wasn't himself alone.
It was a very human response from Eren. It's either him and everyone he love lives or the world. And he sacrifice the world for him and everyone he loves. I bet if most ppl somehow got themselve in the same predicament, 90% of them would pick the same option. Doesn't mean it's objectively right, but it's subjectively right and ppl would choose to save their own skin.
@@angkear6267 I don't really believe that. When human populations or peoples or settlements come into contact, the very first reaction is curiosity and awe. Only after each people have understood each other do relations change. The people of the walls spent decades isolated from the rest of the world. Eren was curious about the outside world but, when he finally got the chance to see it, the very first things he noticed were misery and oppression, the two things he had lived his whole life with. Violence brings about violence. The world inside the walls was far more violent than the outer larger world.
Personally I don’t believe Eren is even thinking about revenge anymore. It’s all about preventing what he has left from being destroyed. So he decided to take on the burden all alone. He knows FULL WELL what he’s doing is wrong, but there’s really no other better choice.
Agreed except maybe when the innocent bystander is related to the offender. Like, maybe you kill a man’s children and then he kills your children in return. That’s a fair revenge thing.
Dude brought a shovel to a fight. Well done, Kurapika. Also, in before all the people who say "I say Eren didn't go far enough". Listen, I appreciate seeing a series stealthily being a super villain origin story. But he's still the villain.

Erin definitely deserves top spot on the list. Also I think Sasuke should’ve gotten an honorable mention. Also, I think there should be a top ten list of anime characters who think they understand the feelings or pain of certain other characters when in actuality they really don’t.
Seriously, Sasuke just couldn't let it go. He spends most of his life hating Itachi, then rather than finally letting go of vengeance after finding out the basic truth, he just shifts his target to the whole of Konoha after Obito gives him a watered-down, one-sided, Uchiha-loving sob story. It felt like Kishimoto had no idea just what to do with Sasuke after Itachi was taken out of the picture because "vengeance" has been the only thing keeping Sasuke relevant to the story, besides Naruto's obsession with "saving" him. Then, just as quickly as he shifts targets, he just seems to drop the vengeance angle in the middle of the War Arc and suddenly tries to go all Lelouch-like on everyone. Again, I feel it's due to Kishimoto just not having a clue what to really do with him; only seeming to have the final Naruto vs. Sasuke fight in mind, but not much else when it came to them individually.
@@Predatorwarrior18 Yeah, I feel Naruto should be redone from the ground up from the start of part two / Shippuden. Like start with Naruto ACTUALLY getting trained by Jiraiya like Sasuke did from Orochimaru so he doesn't feel so damn weak from the get-go and so far behind most of the others his age, and develop and mature him more mentally, having actually seen shit from his journeys with Jiraiya. From what we see, Jiraiya barely did anything with Naruto beyond the basics and what he already knew, and all but gave up after the initial four-tailed Kurama chakra failure. Not make him a cynic with the total opposite personality nor extremely powerful, of course, but at least a bit more serious and realistic about things; seriously tone down the "Talk no Jutsu", expand his arsenal and whatnot.
@@HalfDemonInuyasha Yeah! Exactly! And then there’s Sakura who showed real promise after her training with Tsunade and when she fought against Sasori but then went back to being useless on the battlefield again save for her healing. The only time we saw her actively take part in a fight again was against Madara but that was for the purpose of proving to Naruto and Sasuke that she was done being left behind by them which ultimately didn’t mean jackshit since those two practically became gods and Sakura ended up being stabbed and having to be saved by Naruto frequently. Worst of all though was her obsession with Sasuke. There was absolutely no development in regards to her feelings for him despite everything he did. Like none of the horrible stuff he did or intended to do really mattered because she was going to love him regardless. It was the same with Naruto on trying to save him and both of their reasons just drive me up a wall!
@@Predatorwarrior18 Exactly. Sakura could've been a great character with awesome medical ninjutsu techniques (which we only saw a tiny bit of in part one with Tsunade and Shizune), but she was reduced back to being the 12 year old Sasuke fangirl by the end. In response, Yugi tries to murder him with DRAW MONSTER CARDO !!!! (Justified , but attempted murder may be pushing it . Could fit with the video) Vector trolls Yuma , revealing that he was Ray all along and successfully creates a rift between Yuma and Astral . Yuma tried to violently defeat him (justified)
Actually, Eren's genocide wasn't revenge. It hasn't happened in the anime yet, but at the end of the manga, it's revealed that Eren used his ability to seeinto the future, and if he didn't do what he did, then the Titan Shifter wars would have gone on for countless years, eventually destroying all life on Earth and leaving it a barren wasteland. He activated the Rumbling to bring all the world's hatred onto himself and coaxed his friends into killing him so they would saviors. Losing 80% of the population is better than losing all life.
I understand the actions eren takes to protect those he loves who are left, but damn, i cant imagine the countless nations who were victims of the marlyeans as well as those who probably were never part of the conflict having to pay the penalty as well when they don't deserve it. That's revenge too far.
I wouldn’t say Obito was motivated by revenge. He had given up on the world and thought he could be with Rin in the infinite tsukuyomi. If you’re going to pick someone from Naruto it should definitely be Sasuke.
Great list. Really surprised Gingka Hagane in Beyblade Metal Fusion was not mentioned I mean Gingka was a perfect candidate for an anime character hero or villain alike who took revenge too far particularly when Ryuga mocked him and his father for having a weak beyblade and Gingka's berserk button was pushed and battles recklessly only to end up being defeated by Ryuga's Lightning L Drago in the early parts of Beyblade's Metal Saga
Cho Hakkai from Saiyuki. When his lover was kidnapped by a youkai he killed half the town he lived in that sacrificed her, the entirety of the youkai clan that initially kidnapped her, and the entirety of the clan who imprisoned her. In total, he killed hundreds of humans and over a thousand youkai. In the process getting so covered in the blood and hatred of youkai that he physically transformed into one himself.
...I feel that they put gyutaro and daki in 2nd because of the anime's popularity, their relationship was a much bigger factor than revenge, also I know no one wants to remember but, redo of a healer deserves 2nd spot
I haven't finished it yet but I can't believe AoT has spiraled into what it is now. I can't blame Eren for wanting revenge for those he cares about though. I can say well the innocent don't deserve it well neither did his mom when the Titans initially attacked.
I got one that took revenge to far: Kisara Tendo from black bullet. She killed her brother Kazumitsu because he was responsible for the death of their parents and many others years ago prior to the story. She did take it to far. Rentaro Satomi admitted she went to far and fear he may have to turn against her if she continues killing for us the Tendo’s. I understand her brother deserves to have justice for his crimes but killing isn’t the best thing.
To clarify, Obito was also aware that Kakashi never meant to kill Rin - she took the fatal attack to ensure Three Tails died with her at least for a little while. He was furious at the world that took Rin away from him and had ruined his and Kakashi's life.
How is Griffith from Berserk not on here?? Dude sacrificed hundreds of his own soldiers and did unspeakable things to Casca all because Guts left the band of the hawk. Could even make a case for Guts to be on here too.
Griffith didn't do it because Guts left nor was it "revenge" he did it because of his dream and because now that he was completely useless there was no other way
Younger Toguro makes a pretty good case. After his disciples are murdered, he gets revenge on Kairen in the Dark Tournament but then asks to be turned into a demon, with strength absolute, himself.
NGL i feel Kurapika had every right to feel how they did and do what they did (from what i watched of the 2011) but I am also surprised Ciel wasn't on here
Of course, There's Benny Haha (Gyujirou Japan) from Duel Masters. He was a vile, phychotic, narcissistic and arrogant cheater, who cheating methods would make Weevil Underwood Blush. Ever since losing to Shobu Kirifuda, he hadn't of nothing else but to get revenge of Shobu for that one loss and on Hakuoh for his mistreatment despite planning on betraying the Latter. EVEN after Shobu's supposed Death, he felt cheated out of his chance at beating Shobu and that left a void in his heart, which caused time to stop moving for him, which even caused him to extend his vendetta on the rest of the Kirifuda Family and the next best thing.
Eren became the very thing he sought to destroy and a lot of people don't understand the actual reason why he caused the Rumbling It wasn't just about "saving his friends and Paradis", sure, he loved them and he wanted them to live long and happy lives, however, it wasn't his main objective, that's gonna be explained on Part 3 I'm talking about the "Freedom" panel (His speech, which btw, it's when the story peaked for me), for all of those who read the manga, I think it pretty much explained his real motivations, there's a pretty good video on UA-cam explaining Eren's character as a whole, I highly recommend it
@@lexhowardtanque6751 Yeah... the amount of people that actually understand Eren's character is considerably low I've encountered people that think that Eren's fall to the dark side came out of nowhere and his actions in Season 4 make no sense
for centuries, the world has left all the hatred, misery, and all the mess the world made on that island . as a result , THAT DEMON WAS BORN, BORN TO RETURN ALL THE HATRED WE GAVE TO THEM -- mr.leonhart
Truth be told I was certain that Redo Healer would be on this list. They didn’t have to show what he did exactly but how was what he did not on some next level
Death Parade should have been on this list. Dude damned himself to Hell where he'll waste away into nothingness just to torture the dude that killed his sister, while in the process causing the killer to be reincarnated after the fact
I'm on Eren Jaeger's side all the way because it was the only way to end the cycle of mutual hatred, if Subjects of Ymir are the only ones left Paradis will never be put under outside attack again by the world. They also didn't have any other weapons that were more precise to defend themselves, the Rumbling was the only way. #JAEGERISTS #ISTANDWITHERENJAEGER #SHINZOUWOSASAGEYO
@@mattgerrish908 Two questions then: who deserves to be called trash if I were going Maguire??? Eren?? Or the slavers?? Or both?? And after the climax of Spider Man No Way Home, would Spider Man truly go Eren should everything he loves be truly dead (no matter the portrayal)??
I still like a top 10 anime list of characters who went Super Saiyan. They can be Mecha turning gold, or just characters pulling off the golden hair or even full golden body.
I blame Kishimoto having no clue what to do with Sasuke after Itachi was removed from the picture that Sasuke just whiplashes on revenge. First, he's all gung-ho about destroying all of Konoha after learning half-truths from Obito, and looked absolutely insane after getting the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, but then during the War Arc, he's suddenly all chill and tries to go Lelouch-like on everyone instead.
I'm surprised that keyaru from redo healer isn't here. ( He basically brought the world to his knees ) Or goblin slayer ( literally dedicated his entire life to hunt down goblins, even thou he could advance in the adventurers guild ) Or Gon vs pitou (the guy literally traded his life for the power to crush pitou)
im almost finished watching black clover the leader of the eye of the midnight sun or the devil "banishers" would be good choices for the second/third video of this particular top 10
there are other anime characters that wanted revenge. some of the other anime character get revenge on the wrong people and their misplace revenge made them idiots and evil as well. others who wanted revenge and they are willing to hurt anyone who tries to get in their way.
Literal the moment I saw this since I have been in a psycho pass mood I’m like kogami is totally on here just because he killed a villain we all love and even though it was better than the other outcome, but that out come kogami was not aware of. Gosh I love the show, as well you technically don’t want kogami to kill him you know that it is he better outcome technically even thought well kogami would have been not on the run his psycho pass would still be could do to not gettting revenge for his partner
Tbh I don't blame Eren for going on the deep end. I mean hello he just thought "Oh these Titans are evil killed my mom and I promise to kill every single one of them!" But after of seeing everything beyond the walls not knowing what's good or bad ot what's right or wrong he decided to say screw it I'm gonna go apeshit.
@@cutethings7232 One, that meeting happened in direct response to Eren and Zeke's attack on Liberio. Two, since when does the world's leaders equal the world's population?
Obito over Sasuke?.... Watchmojo back on their fumble tip. Obito wasn't even really motivated by revenge or malice, he wanted to fix a world he thought broken. There was no scorn.... Sasuke however betrayed his home village, attacked other villages, tried to assinate the 5 kage, he tried to kill his future wife and more than once attempted to kill his only friend. Watchmojo fix that entry 👏🏾
If Guts had gotten his revenge, I bet that he would’ve had a sword fight with Griffith, and finished him him by beating the sh*t out of him with his bare hands.
@@ewok40k It wasn't because of revenge that Griffith performed the Advent. It was just another step to fulfill his dream of having his own kingdom. Griffith never really had any sort of thirst of revenge for anything. He just became lost and didn't know what to do after Guts left, leading to him sleeping with the princess of the kingdom, resulting in him getting imprisoned and tortured and such.
Though not exactly a revenge, is it? Not anymore i mean. He realised the whole world is a threat to “his people”. So, he is securing the safety of them, Eldia.
Only If Commander Erwin was given the serum Eren would have been more exquisite with the rumbling. Floch was right. Even Armin will agree. I mean Eren would have started a surgical strike only upon the global military adversaries not on innocent people.
Eren isn’t taking it too far. The whole world wants Paradis dead, if Eren did nothing the worlds military would wipe out the island with no resistance. They seeked peace multiple times only to have Marley spit at the idea and declare war on them.
my opinion what EREN desire is somehow beautiful in ugly shade of vengeance but the trembling is world sin and all that relate have to pay on his behalf suffering
i dont think eren is thinking about revenge anymore he just want to protect his friends and paradis thats why he started the rumbling. he also killes the marleyans to be free, at the end of season 3 he say something like if we kill our enemies at the other side we will be free

Thanks!
Thanks so much for your support! It's truly appreciated:)
If you read what the phantom troupe did to the kurta clan, you'd say he didn't go far enough
It’s not really about revenge for Eren by the time he does what he does. I guess it can be looked at that way, but it’s kinda missing the point
The MC from Redo of Healer should be this list.
Totally amazing video of anime characters that get revenge in anime watch mojo, fantastic job.
All the more reason why these characters should've never taken the phrase "revenge is a dish best served cold" too seriously. Yikes. 😔
Marley and the world asked for the Rumbling and Eren only plays UNO reverse card
You can't also forgot what Nina also did to poor Table-kun

To clarify, Obito was also aware that Kakashi never meant to kill Rin - she took the fatal attack to ensure Three Tails died with her at least for a little while. He was furious at the world that took Rin away from him and had ruined his and Kakashi's life.
Not to mention that Sakumo offer himself...
I think gon would of fit perfectly as number two on this list with his fight against pitou
How is Griffith from Berserk not on here?? Dude sacrificed hundreds of his own soldiers and did unspeakable things to Casca all because Guts left the band of the hawk. Could even make a case for Guts to be on here too.
Griffith didn't do it because Guts left nor was it "revenge" he did it because of his dream and because now that he was completely useless there was no other way
@@Mystic_Shiki casca was just pure revenge
Eren just wants the people he loves to be free from persecution
Younger Toguro makes a pretty good case. After his disciples are murdered, he gets revenge on Kairen in the Dark Tournament but then asks to be turned into a demon, with strength absolute, himself.
…..Redo of Healer….. *Drops Mic and walks off into the sunset*
NGL i feel Kurapika had every right to feel how they did and do what they did (from what i watched of the 2011) but I am also surprised Ciel wasn't on here
they? what they? he is a dude
Revenge is one of the most used tropes in anime.
Eren became the very thing he sought to destroy and a lot of people don't understand the actual reason why he caused the Rumbling
It wasn't just about "saving his friends and Paradis", sure, he loved them and he wanted them to live long and happy lives, however, it wasn't his main objective, that's gonna be explained on Part 3
I'm talking about the "Freedom" panel (His speech, which btw, it's when the story peaked for me), for all of those who read the manga, I think it pretty much explained his real motivations, there's a pretty good video on UA-cam explaining Eren's character as a whole, I highly recommend it
For others, in "that" part, people think it was the lowest point of is characterization when in fact it is it's Peak
@@lexhowardtanque6751 Yeah... the amount of people that actually understand Eren's character is considerably low
I've encountered people that think that Eren's fall to the dark side came out of nowhere and his actions in Season 4 make no sense
Eren wasn't even thinking about revenge anymore.
If he wasn't thinking of revenge; he would've gone with the plan to use the smaller rumbling
@@Axel_Kasai It started out as revenge at first. But soon enough, it wasn't what motivated him anymore.

Truth be told I was certain that Redo Healer would be on this list. They didn’t have to show what he did exactly but how was what he did not on some next level
How I read it: Characters that took revenge to far
Me: Achill-
How I reread it: Animes characters that took revenge to far
Me: Oh. Eren.
Too far? I don't think they went far enough. 😆
Redo of Healer Keyaru should’ve been on this list
I’m not saying Eren is right but to say it’s only a few people who to wipe out the demons….I mean eldians on the island is an understatement!!!
I know this is a bit out of Watchmojo's range, but Tsuge from Patlabor 2 is the embodiment of this subject.

Bruh what about NARAKU from Inuyasha? That plot of the whole show was him getting revenge for Kikiyo not loving him!!
What I used to tell my friend's if they haven't watch School Days was "you haven't lived life if you haven't watched School Days"

They wouldn't know that because they don't actually watch all of these animes. Just listen to how bad he butchers like 90% of the character's names.

For me, it would be a blend of the cold calculating manipulative mastermind.

Hey wait a minute. Didn’t Sasuke took his vengeance a little too far? Then again he didn’t managed to go through with it.
( He basically brought the world to his knees )
Or goblin slayer ( literally dedicated his entire life to hunt down goblins, even thou he could advance in the adventurers guild )
Or Gon vs pitou (the guy literally traded his life for the power to crush pitou)

there are other anime characters that wanted revenge.
some of the other anime character get revenge on the wrong people and their misplace revenge made them idiots and evil as well.
others who wanted revenge and they are willing to hurt anyone who tries to get in their way.

Wait, where's Keyarga (Redo of healer).
If Guts had gotten his revenge, I bet that he would’ve had a sword fight with Griffith, and finished him him by beating the sh*t out of him with his bare hands.
speaking of Griffith, sacrificing his entire warband to exact his revenge...
@@ewok40k
It wasn't because of revenge that Griffith performed the Advent.
Nice to see psycho pass on the list
Redo of healer’s main character is definitely #1 on this list
Nonsense, Eren is just changing his inner Doom Slayer.
I mean kurapika had a good reason to kill them, they literally killed his entire clan except from him because of their eyes
Eren Yeager better be first
He is.

Though not exactly a revenge, is it? Not anymore i mean. He realised the whole world is a threat to “his people”. So, he is securing the safety of them, Eldia.
Ok social justice force
Only If Commander Erwin was given the serum Eren would have been more exquisite with the rumbling. Floch was right. Even Armin will agree. I mean Eren would have started a surgical strike only upon the global military adversaries not on innocent people.

That being said, is that how English people pronounce “butchering”? (See 8:30)
Eren isn’t taking it too far. The whole world wants Paradis dead, if Eren did nothing the worlds military would wipe out the island with no resistance. They seeked peace multiple times only to have Marley spit at the idea and declare war on them.
