- What is the Subject-Verb Agreement?
In any sentence, Singular Subject must have a Singular Verb and Plural Subject must have Plural Verb.
In any sentence,
Singular Subject must have a Singular Verb and Plural Subject must have Plural Verb.
Then, we will see the six important subject-verb agreement rules, which are :
Rule 1, Two singular subjects connected by 'and' require a plural verb.
Rule 2, Two or more singular subjects joined by 'or' or 'nor' require a singular verb.
Rule 3, When the subjects joined by 'or' or 'nor' are of different persons, the verb agrees with the nearer.
Rule 4, Words like Either, Neither, each, everyone, many, must be followed by a singular verb.
Rule 5, Some noun which is plural in form, but singular in meaning takes a singular verb.
Rule 6, Some noun which is singular in form, but plural in meaning take a plural verb.

This is the only channel i had seen that teaches English in English.
4:38 Sir in 2 nd condition if first subject is plural and second subject is singlural which verb must be used
singular, because it agrees to nearer subject.
You must use a singular verb if the subject near to the verb is singular.
The rule is simple - 1) plural verb if plural subject near to the verb.
2) Singular verb if singular subject is near to the verb.
Content, presentation everything is perfect.... Best source to learn English(Grammar).... Great 👌👌
Thank you sir ... I got the concept 🙏🙏

Or it should be 'nor' always with Neither

Sir, I feel that rule no 6 is wrong as you told that if the subject is in singular form but plural in meaning(collective nouns) then it takes a plural verb but i have always seen the use of singular verb with collective nouns like family, couple etc. Sir, please clear my doubt.
I agree with you both and I was in doubt that what will i use in exam, now i decided that i will use 'is' in case of couple.

Sir I like your hello friends,
Is there a difference between 'many and many a' regarding the subject-verb agreement? I saw a video that said, “many should only be used with the plural verb and many a is used with the singular verb." I'm confused! 🤕 PS, please note the correction, 'many and many a', from the prior posting.
Many was follwed by plural verb only but here the statement is many a man (i.e)a man(singular) among many so,it is followed by singular verb
Please note my error correction from the previous video. If you didn't write a response, I wouldn't have caught the mistakes.
Our sir not explains like this
Nice Video.....
