I decided about a week ago to teach myself how to crochet. I made this scarf last night and it is awesome! Your tutorials are great and very easy to follow!
I made this scarf! it's very easy to make and so pretty. I didn't use any buttons, instead I crocheted 2 puff stitch flowers and used them as buttons on the scarf. together they look beautiful. my daughter loves it.
Thank you so much! Your explanations were so awesome for a visual learner! I made this in about 4 hours, just got to do the button, and my daughter is thrilled. Thank you!! I just subscribed, thank you again!!
I made this scarf about a year ago :-)..my friend sent it to me, something she found on pinterest!!! I never knew you had a channel on YT. You just popped up in suggestions log!!!.. love the videos!!! New subbie :-) :-)
Thanks for subscribing! I just launched it in November, so just beginning this new and fun way of sharing! I am so glad you are enjoying the videos too!! :)
Just be sure to give yourself lots of time! When you first start out, be sure to practice, practice, practice! I have pulled more things apart that I can count, lol! :)
I see that you have many episodes of your videos, how to I find the very first one. you might have one that I would want to learn. I love the way you teach these stitches. It's for beginners but not for beginners. If you know the basic stitches, then you go on and teach the stitch that you have available on the videos. Also you have videos that I have been trying to fine, like the button scar. I have been looking everywheres for that. And you are the first one that have a video on it. Thank you for these great videos.
Thanks for the great vid! I have been looking for a pattern for this exact scarf. My scarf is nearly complete! You give great tutorials!!! Subscribing for the awesome tutorials :)
Thank you! As for the buttons, here is the link to the written pattern, in the photos you see how the buttons are placed on the piece. I used matching yarn and a tapestry needle to sew them on. :) www.fiberfluxblog.com/2012/10/free-crochet-patternfiona-button-scarf.html
I love this scarf. I was not able to get the same yarn. So i asked in the shop and they recommended a sirdar chunky wool with a 6mm crochet hook. They did mention that i would probably need to have a larger starting chain. I wondered what you would recommend ? Also is it easy to swap onto the second ball of wool when the first is done. Many thanks I love your stuff
Over it and I think I'm going to do this but was wondering if you can do a vlog on how to sew the buttons on?? I'm still new at crocheting and have no idea how to sew it on lol.
Made the scarf today! Your tutorial was amazing! So easy to follow. I want to make it ahorter next time though. Instead of 124 I was thinking of doing 104? Woukd that work? Is there a science behind thenumbers I am missing?
I'm trying to make this for my sister-in-law, but my skein is only 92 yards. I won't be able to get another of the colour before Christmas, and I've run out of yarn a few times (my sizing is a little on the larger size, I recently made a "toddler" hood that fits my husband's head perfectly!) Is there another amount in high starting chain that you can suggest I try? Trying to figure out how to reduce chains but still keep in the pattern is super confusing to me.
Hi! I want to make this 70”. Is there any particular way that I should add to my chain to not mess up the pattern? Like multiple of 3 plus 4 kind of thing or is any even number safe?
Hi Fiber Flux, I have a silly question...I think??? I love the tute 1st TY,TY 1st of all!!! :) So am wondering I have been looking all over for a pattern like this one you must have read my mind sheesh so Happy I just subscribed too you Yayyyy! Hi - (newbie lol) Once you have finished foundation chain and make your first insertion of hook into 6th stitch - which stitch follows that one?? Thank you!
One skein didn't get me 5 rows - I got foundation row plus 3 rows - I'm using Lion Brand Thick and Quick in Claret. I'm doing the 45 inch length. The pattern is very easy and very quick. I'm I doing something wrong?
I don't know how to crochet/knit :( I am a new loom knitter one scarf under my belt lol!!! Is there a loom tutorial for this patten or any ideas? It would be much appreciated it :)
Hello! I am new here, but I can tell you that there are comments below written in Spanish. They are BEGGING you to have subtitles in Spanish for the instructions. There is the comment from Maria de Jesus Lopez Figueroa, 2 months ago saying> "I Love all your projects!!! I can follow step by step but I do get lost! Please subtitle into Spanish. Example, how many chains are done to begin the project? Thank you." Just wanted to mention that you would have a lot more "likes", and subscribers if you include the spanish reading crafters out there! Saludos a tod@s!!! Greetings to all!!! LuLu.
I've asked this on Facebook and the blog. Instructions say 9mm N crochet hook. My 9mm is my M hook my 10mm is my N. Using the Thick and Quick yarn. I am confused.
Fiber Flux Hi Jennifer, love your pattern and instruction. I am a newbie, so am not sure where to attach the buttons and none of the pictures or video shows where to attach them. Thanks in advance for your help!

you can add it on a few different ways, but you can tie the ends of the yarn together and knot it tightly a few times (i normally knot it like three times) then cut off the extra ends. once you start to crochet again you will lose the knot and it won't really be noticeable.
looking for suspensions on picture related to this pattern. shows button wit tab on front and comes down to waist, have pic but not pattern. need for friend who had shoulder surgery . great for elderly. belong to prayer shawl ministry atbchurch

How long is the one pictured at the beginning? is it the long or short version?
I love this scarf! Made one for myself! Can I sell my finished product?
Hi! I want to make this 70”. Is there any particular way that I should add to my chain to not mess up the pattern? Like multiple of 3 plus 4 kind of thing or is any even number safe?
If I use a small thread would I need a small hook? Trying to use what yarn I have right now.
Yes, I would check the label the see what the recommended hook size is. :)

Hi - (newbie lol) Once you have finished foundation chain and make your first insertion of hook into 6th stitch - which stitch follows that one?? Thank you!
What is the type of yarn that you use? It looks like 4 ply, but i might be wrong because it looks a little bit bulkier than 4 ply yarn,
Nice pattern! Going to try it. Where'd you get your lovely crochet hook?
Where did you get your scissors? What kind of scissors is it because I want to buy one that looks like that.
I'm looking for the pattern for the Dallas dreams car where do I find it
One skein didn't get me 5 rows - I got foundation row plus 3 rows - I'm using Lion Brand Thick and Quick in Claret. I'm doing the 45 inch length. The pattern is very easy and very quick. I'm I doing something wrong?
No. I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I believe the project is only 3 rows. If you want it wider, get more yarn.
I don't know how to crochet/knit :( I am a new loom knitter one scarf under my belt lol!!! Is there a loom tutorial for this patten or any ideas? It would be much appreciated it :)
Coming soon, in the works! :)
Is it possible to make this into an infinity scarf instead of using the buttons?
Sorry but all my N hooks are 10mm. Should I go to the M size??? Thanks.
I love this pattern and your crochet hook. Where did you purchase your hook at?
Thanks so much! I got the hook from knitpicks.com...they have lots more in every size. They even have a blue version of this hook too! :)
What color yarn was the scarf in shown at 0:07? Also what brand was it? Thanks!
A & G Productions Hi there! The color shown was Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick in the "Fig" colorway...thanks so much for your question! :)
beautiful art wort
Knitting girt
SUPER
Thanks!
Where did you buy your crochet hook? I bought a bunch of Deborah Norville hooks - but they don’t look half as nice as yours!

I've asked this on Facebook and the blog. Instructions say 9mm N crochet hook. My 9mm is my M hook my 10mm is my N. Using the Thick and Quick yarn. I am confused.
+Charlene Turgeon Mine too
She made a mistake. Use either the M or N hook, depending on what chunky yarn you use. Hope that helps
Thanks👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Where did u get that awesome crochet hook?
Do you use this stitch method to make anything else?
will this still work if i use a 8mm hook rather than 9??
How long does this usually take to make?
Ciao.. mi puoi dire quanto misura per larghezza e lunghezza???
Sei molto gentile e brava...
Mchae Dieu merci
How do I attach the buttons to the Fiona scarf? Do you show it somewhere?
Yes, at around the 8:18 part of the video, hope that helps! :)
Fiber Flux Hi Jennifer, love your pattern and instruction. I am a newbie, so am not sure where to attach the buttons and none of the pictures or video shows where to attach them. Thanks in advance for your help!
