I didn't know what I was going to do on this cold snowy Saturday night. Then I saw a recommendation on UA-cam to watch this Dan guy get his rocks off for two and a half hours. Problem solved.
"2024 is already off to an amazing start with this breathtaking journey! The Ocean Picture Stone Quarry looks absolutely stunning. Great content as always!"🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember not too long ago you weren't able to run around those rocks as you're doing now. You had us worried for a while but here you are jumping around like a mountain goat. May the Lord bless you in the years to come with many more rock hounding adventures not to mention some good gold mining too.
I got some of your material and started cutting and polishing some of it ranging from mid to higher grade. Very hard material almost like jade but cracks easier. I like some solid color for free carving & the ocean for pendants… i am just a hobbiest making gifts. I want to thank you guys for the orders you sent and all of your hard work I love these videos! You guys ROCK!
Dan your the man, you should come down this side of this gem we share! Pauly has done what I told him, come for your winter pinch my GOLD then home, stay safe and healthy brother, as you probably don't need $$$ from the tube just post like we is your family an update us whenever thanks for this second run of these post 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼🤟🏼🖖🏼🇳🇿
It’s cool seeing where the rock that was on my best friends Mothers dresser is from . This was 1987 , so may of not came from you Dan but it was a 2’ round plate of it and looked so awesome like the beach . Huge piece and they canned it ocean picture stone then also .
Hey Dan! I hope you will keep posting ocean picture stone videos from time to time. Even one per year :) keep this, your star zaphires and pickerton? I hope you some plans like that, turn it down to 1 video per month maybe? Whatever makes you happy we will follow as long as the journey goes! Thanks for all the times you took us out with you!
Well after you cut a slab it's just that a slab of a cool looking rock not really worth a whole lot of money.. but after you put your skill and love into it and make a piece of jewelry or a pendant then it's worth a lot more. So I understand. And you do beautiful work. Dan. I love you brother. Keep hounding
Yeah as a silversmith it takes a fair bit of work to take a polished cab and put it into a silver setting…and watching them making the cabs makes me feel guilty for moaning cos when I buy a stone it’s already been mined, cut, shaped and polished and it’s even more work to do all that…
Reminds me of a place in Germany I visited called Idar-Oberstein. Large water powered wheels that workers laid in front of to polish stones all day. Also, a church built into a mountain. You would appreciate a place like that I think if you are not familiar
My recap videos are all bonus videos (Not the regular sunday morning video) You don't miss any regularly scheduled videos because of the recaps. You are welcome to skip them.
I love the sound of the feather wedges when you hit them. Could just listen to that all day! You mentioned the bands are 4” wide, what is the largest band you have found so far? It would be so wonderful to see something the size of a laptop screen. Saw you at the bc show in ‘23. Thanks for sharing your adventures, very inspiring. Now in Nova Scotia exploring, hoping to find some candy.
I'm hoping you'll be back in Chilliwack this coming April. I found a spot at home that NEEDS a slab of this. I know I can get it online but I'd prefer to pick out the perfect slab in person. 🙂
And just thought of something else you might want to get some skin so soft from Avon I have found that if you spray the top of your shoes and bottom of your pants keeps the ticks at bay and don't have to pull socks up over pants😂
Consider the time spent for gas, collecting, cutting and polishing. And the cost of materials: hammers, wedges, drill and bits, saw blades. Well priced!
Its kinda like, you want to buy a car, you say I like the looks of a Lamborghini, you check on the price, and then say OH NO "Cars" are way too expensive.
@ I bought a thing off you last year and was $10 short. To be clear, I’m not JUST flying all the way over the Atlantic from Scotland to give you your $10 but 2 birds, 1 stone…
Also, saw your other video today about slowing down a bit - good on you. Take time for you, enjoy life and your prospecting, we love ya. Support from Scotland for you.
I think you should sell over sea only,or alot more than usa,as,usa, there really isn't much of a market.Ill talk to a jewelry store here in expensive Vermont, church street market place, and see if they would buy your products,I bet they will.Ill find out soon,a let you know through email
Months behind? In video releases? Not sure what you are getting at. I do have enough pre-recorded videos to have one each sunday for the whole winter. Plus a few of these compilations for bonus releases.
I try an balance effort of drilling vrs effort of hammering vrs what is needed for the rock, both are tiring, and both have their positives and negatives. I try my best to work as smart as I can. I'm sorry you don't see this.
Dan,I want to thank you, as,I know it takes time,to edit, and I greatly appreciate that,so we can see what you do
Thanks, it does take quite a bit of time to edit and I'm glad you appreciate it.

It’s always great to hear from someone who is enjoying their ocean picture stones.
I love Ocean Picture Stone.
It looks like a painting by Turner.
Happy New Year, brother, and thanks for the 1st episode of the year!
Rocking good times!
It is so beautiful
It's been over two years since I was able to purchase some ocean pitcher Stone. I got to buy even more this time around. Thank you, Dan.

AMAZING
Beautiful stones
Hermoso metal amigo 😻
Very unique material, we just purchased a box!
Can't wait to cut on it!
Thanks Dan! 1❤
Thanks, enjoy!
I don't think ppl realize what work goes into the finished product 😢. Absolutely gorgeous
It takes a lot of hard work, but the results are worth it!
They absolutely do not appreciate the work that goes into anything hand crafted.

Can wait to see these stones! Excellent, work Dan!
Thanks!
i could use these stones as guitar neck inlays :)
That's a cool idea!
@@Danhurd In theory, could you cut some 2mm thick slices for me?

That sounds amazing! I will have to look into that
Cant wait for next week for the 2024 recap videos are done.

These are beautiful ❤
It looks like you had a great year on all fronts including your channel Dan. Congrats and may I wish you and yours a great new year.
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words! I look forward to another year of sharing these finds!
That really is such a unique and cool looking stone. Its weird (and lucky for you) that it's really only formed in your area

We previously used it to keep flies off of horses!
Huge fan….Dan! Please get prescription eyeglasses…not to mention hearing protection.😊
❤❤❤
Gonna order my second batch for my niece! Can we pick it up to save on shipping?
Utilizing the natural crack😊, gonna have to try that comment on my wife.
Oops! I meant safety prescription glasses.
Not into different stones , although this is interesting on your work how to get it.
Thanks! I'm glad you found the process interesting.
🙏😎💪
was hoping for gold
Next week's compilation is about gold.
I've never gone prospecting......Do you take amateurs out for trips?
How much are these?

I personally am not a fan of the picture stone. I get that some of it looks beautiful, I get why people put it down when they see the price. Wowzers

I sell all over the world. About 80% to USA about 15% to Canada and 5% to the rest of the world.
@Danhurd that's great,I'm wrong then,my bad
A little blacksmithing skill, you can reshape your chisels!
Oh and considering your always months behind now, lol

I for one would like to personally thank you for making sure we have videos to watch all winter.
Work smarter not harder bro, use 3 instead of 2 wedges and you won't have to take as much time and strength swinging malets

lmao, you know you made it WHEN you make a C R A P P Y
BEST OF vid.. lol
I'm sorry you think it is Crappy, please feel free to not watch it. Thank you for such a positive comment. I love being called Crappy for my efforts.
I often wonder why people think it is OK to make these mean hurtful remarks.
Oh and btw last years compilation was one of the best performing videos of the year last year.
Could not saying helper, hade to say gopher. 😡
OMG! are you actually taking offence to that?! And it is not Gopher it is Go-For, you know... Go for this, Go for that.
