Got one about 3 weeks ago £39.99 after 3 weeks not lost or gained a second either way best automatic watch i ever bought up to now. P.S. got the all black model with roman numerals from forsining with no name on the glass looks mint.
I have the other version of this watch, with the slanted inner movement and roman numerals around the smooth outer bezel and minute marks on the inner chapter ring. I've had it about 2 years now and it's not difficult to tell time on with that bezel type and it does get a lot of comments because of it's unusual design.
As you know, there are a couple of these sorts of watches available with the same movement. Using the crown is interesting as you can see it move a gear that doesn't have a fixed central axis within the movement to facilitate screw-down one way and move the hands the other. Mine is the full bling version with crystals on the rotor which simply reinforces what this is: a piece of costume jewellery and a talking point for blokes. It also has a minute tracked chapter ring and then an even more totally bonkers piece of design: romans engraved on the bezel. Anyway, watch modding shouldn't be just bolting bits on and so having fully brushed the shark mesh I fitted, I'm going to machine the numerals off the bezel. Yours seems to have some unfortunate branding on the front and I was wondering if you can remove it as it doesn't look as though it's applied correctly? As to that strap, I feel that replacing the fake leather strap on these Chinese bargains is a given and for me, this sort of fun watch looks far better on a brushed shark mesh bracelet. BTW, great review Oleg - thanks.
Thanks David. I love using the crown and watching the movement. I didn't want to go into my love for this exposed movement too much otherwise people will think I'm trying to oversell the watch. For $35 it an great piece of engineering. I think a chapter ring around this watch would improve it. And you're right about replacing the strap. All the best, Oleg.
Well@@arthurbttf, given that it is a decorative collector's piece of fun and is, I suspect, intended as a conversation starter down the pub with your mates, then yes, it is accurate enough and tells you the time. But if what you want is a workaday watch for the one watch owner, then probably not.
Thank you for reviewing this kind of watch. Normally I dont care for the abundant skeleton and open heart watches. Exceptions are of course watches with beautiful skeletonized movements and tourbillons. I have looked at this specific kind of watch several times and thought about their function. The movement cant be conventional, and a such unconventional movement in an inexpensive watch attracts me. I could not find anything about the movement name, but I will keep looking. Of course a novelty as you say - but it looks like much more of the mechanics are watchable than on a normal skeleton watch. So maybe it could get more people interesting in the function of the mechanics. The more and more I look at the watch, the more and more I find the watch... well... interesting is probably the best description. Probably the most interesting cheap China novelty watch I ever seen. I like the cusion case in itself, the strap in itself, the roman numerals in themself, the rotor in itself, and the movement in itself. But combined? I might get flamed, but I find this watch extremely interesting, and I feel more inspired to get one now.
It's a very interesting watch. Usually when you see these cheap "bridge" see-though movements they are all hand wind. I found it interesting that they actually made it automatic. Sure that quality could be improved but looking at that movement at work is worth it. All the best, Oleg.
Not into skeleton watches either, however tnis is a very cool looking piece. Wish they made higher quality piece for around 300. Edit: the notched bezel looks like five minutes intervals?
Great observation Andrew! To be honest I haven't even noticed it until you pointed out. The bezel is in 5 minute intervals, it does make telling the time a bit easier. All the best, Oleg.
Great review! I ordered two of these (a Black & a Gray Wolf) after watching your unboxing video of this watch. These will make good Christmas gifts for my kids who love skeleton watches!!! My best to Bond!!
I don't have full details to hand but I do know that this movement was designed by a very highly regarded completely self taught watch maker in China. It is one of a kind.
For 35 bucks it seems like it would be just fun to have. Just a kind of unique timepiece to add to the collection. I wish however that the hands were a tad thicker and a different color so they can easily be read at a glance. Nice review, thx!
I have this watch in the black body (I wish I had the stainless one though). It's really not a bad watch at all, I wore it daily for about six months before starting to rotate through my other watches. It always kept good time, and I only have to give it the auto-shake after a weekend off work of not wearing it. My only complaint is the band, I'm not a fan of that style and it's a little stiff. I need to get some proper sized NATO straps and I'll switch it out. I've tried it out with some smaller ones I have and it looks really good on army green and khaki. I also have other Forsining skeleton watches, one under the Winner brand (wearing it right now), and they've all been great. Sure they don't have the greatest finish in the world on them, but they're all perfectly functional and great conversation pieces when someone notices them. If you want some unique beater watches they're great for that. I'm going to get more for sure.
The mechanism is another shortcut , reason why you can only set the watch in one direction no slip gear for opposite rotation of the crown besides tightening the crown after setting
Battery in a quartz watch lasts 2 years in my experience, and the replacement batteries are dirt cheap. It's not worth taking them out when you don't use the watches. Repeated opening and closing may damage the case of the watch which will be quite a lot more expensive to replace than the battery
Finally I am able to review this Corum's homage equivalent watch from you. Indeed a quirky mechanism given the similar movement design to Corum's Golden Bridge yet interesting and attractive to look at. I have also discovered that there are other watch makers that uses the same movement in other alteration / modified designs. An unusual adjusting time mechanism with non hand-wind but an automatic rotor to generate power to the watch. Its similar to some Japanese movements that uses the non hand-wind automatic rotor for power. An attractive and interesting watch design with unique and unusual element features. Thanks for the review Oleg, with best regards.
I just bought one 5 minutes ago and can't wait to have it. It's a watch I don't already have, so I thought I'd gamble on it, We shall see if it good or not...
Just thinking about to buy one from Flipkart but I doubt bcos this brand is new to me and the price it says 4500 rupees from 16000 ruppes discount. Why is that much discount?
It is cool and unique and $35 is crazy cheap. Very cool link...a little more expensive than the watch in the video :D Thank you for another excellent video Oleg :)
Imo the text on the front crystal needs to go. The text on the back absolutely has to go imo. I was looking at it on gearbest a few weeks ago but I passed on it. I really wanted a seagull skeleton or some other skeleton watch when I first got into watches but they just don't fancy me as much. I mean I love the idea of them but I haven't found any in my price range that really has the look I would love to have in a skeleton watch. Great video Oleg
Thank you my friend. You're right about the logo kind of ruining the look. I think if they got rid of the wiring it would definatelly look better. All the best, Oleg.
For an auto with no manual wind you just have to slowly shake the watch for a few seconds to get it going. After that it'll wind as you wear it and move around. A lot of much more expensive watches are like this too.
Great review as always man, of a peculiarly interesting watch. As said on the unboxing video I love the anchor shaped rotor ⚓. I'm surprised other watch companies haven't jumped on this kind of design especially for nautical themed watches. ⛵. Think it would make an interesting addition to any collection especially for the price. Sadly i made a decision a while back to condense my collection rather than grow it 😭, but definitely a fun watch for the price. PS id check your ceiling for steaks or dog treats as something had Bonds undevided attention up there! 🐶 👍
Thanks man! You're right, more companies should cut the rotor into an anchor shape. It's a cool look. It's tough to condense the watch collection. I know the struggle. All the best, Oleg and Bond.
Column watch, right? One new word to recognize new kind of watch :) Very strange, very unique - maybe to small talks with girls? "Oooh, what is it on your wrist?" Not bad idea, not bad. What looks stupid, but it works, it's not stupid :D
I got so many questions about this watch. "Does it work?" "How does it work?" It's unique and interesting but I wouldn't wear it everyday. All the best, Oleg.
That's right :) for EDC I preffer dive-watch, maybe someone else will take G-shock, but for a party or meeting with friends... column watch isn't bad idea, light watch for light moments in life ;)

the movement is a clone of the LG0801B from Invicta
You are a great presenter Oleg! Enjoy your talks.
Excelent review !! thanks a lot for sharing. What about timekeeping and reliability ? thanks again and cheers from Argentina.
Is it still working and keeping time
Seems an opportunity was missed to make the bezel double as hour markers. Imagine it having 12 parts in stead of this 16(?).
They have another version that has a roman-numeral labeled bezel

Why can't I wind it through the crown ? It is verry annoying to wind it through shaking in circular movement.
