Notice how they fly the helecopter backwards? this is because they are not trained to be able to fly in towards themselves as the controls are reversed. Instead they simply fly backwards.
A Robinson R-22 would cost more to maintain and operate. Also those rise fields are not that big. Another reason would be less risk to people if that crashes compared to a maned aircraft.

Could buy a mosquito heli, convert it to R/C and man it as well. Best of both worlds for less money (I think less money, can't recall the price of a Mosquito Heli).

Next step would be to program it to spray using GPS, no operator on the ground even.
This would be great for agriculture. Farmers or their coops could get these and do crop dusting no need for a pilot.
