I like how sol grabs onto squirrels tail like a child grabbing their parents hair and sol stomp/hitting his paw on the ground like a child having a fit it just shows how much sol saw squirrel like an mother
This MAP is extremely important to me. I live in a Mexican populated city in the South of Texas nearest to the border. We see so much here from both the US and from Mexico that many of us feel pain because of, but we also see the beauty of culture that gets overlooked because of how bad both governments are, and how they treat us. Seeing this within a MAP brings me so much joy and makes me proud of who I am, with the beauty of storytelling and culture.
Agree! There even was an "Ajoloton" who was supposed to depose axolotls in the wild in the Lake of Xochimilco, instead the government lead those axolotls to their death, due the river being highly contaminated and some african fishes being their main depredators

As a Mexican, this map is a great example of what Mexico has in it's culture. The caves,the desert, the landscapes, the spirits, the chinampas, the trajinera, everything is a great jewel of art and animation. But above all, I like that you are talking about the magic that Mexico has: that Sol has the ability to tirn into a snake like a Nahual ( a person who can turn into an animal) A Big thank you to Cheeteh Z, Bolita Murciélago and all the animators for making this vídeo.
As an American I love when other cultures are featured. Seeing it get such an upstanding promotion from somebody in the culture makes me excited to see more
How someone from Mexico also thinks the same!!, the name of the map reminds me a lot of the snake that can be seen in the pyramids when the sun shines and a shadow is made as if it were a snake going down the pyramid
Around 5:11 is probably my favorite lil clip of the map the pure joy on Sol face when hes showing the kits the snake and the disappointment afterwards he knew it was harmless and was having fun with the kits he was probably trying to get closer to the kits to get closer to squirleflight but then proceeded to change his mind after this incident that they are in his way
2:11 the way he blinks in this scene, like an actual reptile! Thats such good foreshadowing! Every snake-like movement about sol is excellent foreshadowing but that was the first time we saw him, so it lets us know head-up that somethings not right.
At 11:15 when Sol sees the three stars, lion Jay and Holly I love when he punches it so that the green star (Holly) is crushed foreshadowing her "problems"
I love this version of Feathertail, she’s so hard-core. Not to mention the amazing artist talent that went into this, fucking glorious. I was at the premiere and this is my 4th watch!

I genuinely kind of understand Sol in this map, he was jealous that those kits got more love than he did at their age. That doesn't justify his actions in the slightest but he wasn't sure what to do, as he wasn't shown how
7:08 Lionkit noticing how scared his siblings are and getting in front of them is adorable, I love that little detail, especially in a part with so much already going on! And I love how in this AU Jaykit would be named Jayfeather in honour of Feathertail instead of Crowfeather! Just the small details are so amazing
I love how fragile Sol is though he's like one of those kind and caring friends but if very fragile and very easy to heart shatter if accidentally yelled or snapped at

As a Mexican, there is something I have to say about the Thumbnail, and it is that I love it because it makes me nostalgic! The artists really knew how to capture that the map is inspired in Mexico, because the art reminds me of elementary school textbooks, where the history book always had images that seemed to be hand-painted. When I was little, I always stared at those images, and the thumbnail one reminds me a lot of Quetzalcóatl (the feathered serpent god) Without a doubt, a great touch for this great MAP! ✨🔥
As a Latinoamerican person. A Warriors fan, and an animator. This means so much for me. The representation and art is just amazing and Cheetah always amazes us by their concepts!!! This is lovely, one of my favorite maps

ALSO PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION OF THE VID Quiero comentar que cuando empezamos este proyecto hace ya largo rato, estaba emocionada y a la vez aterrada. A mí personalmente me cuesta mucho hablar de México, porque tengo muchísimas emociones y en su mayoría por mucho tiempo fueron negativas. Mi relación con mi país, con mi propia ciudad, está dañada. El solo pensar en todas las problemáticas sociales y políticas por las que pasamos es muy agotador, y esto es sin contar las desafortunadas experiencias que yo he tenido…pero gracias a éste map tuve la oportunidad de empezar a sanar mi relación con mi ciudad, ya que se me dio la oportunidad de redescubrir mi país desde otra perspectiva: el registro de la biodiversidad para dirigir un proyecto. Mientras planeábamos serpent sol, nos aventamos al reto de reimaginar el valle de México (y otras partes de México) en una dramática sequía y esto incluyó hacer un registro de la vegetación que crece aquí para seleccionar qué plantas podríamos usar en éste caso (aquellas que sobrevivirían, y aquellas que aunque en un caso real no sobreviven, son icónicas del lugar) , mientras más avanzan los personajes en su viaje, más plantas vamos encontrando, pasando de un lago estereotípicamente seco a un valle que intenta sobrevivir con las pocas lluvias que le quedan, y finalizando con el valle rejuvenecido, lleno de vida y colores. Tal vez no sea perfecto, pero a mí personalmente me ha ayudado muchísimo a ver mi país con nuevos ojos; ver la cantidad de vida única e increíble que crece en nuestras tierras y dibujarla. México es un territorio enorme, lleno de vida, colores, tradiciones, y personas valientes que luchan a pesar de que todo esté en su contra con tal de proteger este hermoso país. Y por esto quiero agradecer enormemente a todas las personas involucradas que han ayudado a hacer este proyecto una realidad, por aguantar todas mis paredes de texto llenas de feedback en cada WIP, y por el esfuerzo de investigar, conocer, y aplicar nueva vegetación, escenarios, y colores a sus partes. I want to comment that when we started this project a long time ago, I was excited and terrified at the same time. Personally, it is very difficult for me to talk about Mexico, because I have many emotions and most of them were negative for a long time. My relationship with my country, with my own city, is damaged. Just thinking about all the social and political problems that we go through is very exhausting, and this is without counting the unfortunate experiences that I have had... but thanks to this map I had the opportunity to begin to heal my relationship with my city, that I was given the opportunity to rediscover my country from another perspective: the registry of biodiversity to direct a project. While planning serpent sol, we took on the challenge of reimagining the Valley of Mexico (and other parts of Mexico) in a dramatic drought and this included making a record of the vegetation that grows here to select which plants we could use in this case (those that would survive, and those that although in a real case do not survive, they are iconic of the place), the more the characters advance on their journey, the more plants we find, going from a stereotypically dry lake to a valley that tries to survive with the few rains that remain, and ending with the rejuvenated valley, full of life and colors. It may not be perfect, but personally it has helped me a lot to see my country with new eyes; see the amount of unique and incredible life that grows on our lands and draw it. Mexico is a huge territory, full of life, colors, traditions, and brave people who fight despite everything being against them in order to protect this beautiful country. And for this I want to thank enormously all the people involved who have helped make this project a reality, for putting up with all my walls of text full of feedback in each WIP, and for the effort to investigate, learn about, and apply new vegetation, scenarios , and colors to their parts. Everyone did a spectacular job, each new WIP and each finished part that arrived made my day. The energy and talks we were able to have during the production will always be in my heart, as will all of you. I love you very much.

This MAP really is something special and it is dripping with love and care for this culture and Fef and Cheetz put so much into it. I now this sounds weird but my theory about all of the AU's is that there all the stories are legends passed down though the clans or like oral stories that changed depending on the person telling them. That's why at the end of Sharpen Your Teeth it shows Squirrelflight telling the stories too Hollykit. This might be a stretch and I don't think it counts Traveler feather but it's a good start.

I just realized the foreshadowing at 4:42 and continuing on that Sol is carrying HollyKit, and that this shows the situation continuing on after the matter and how HollyFawn gets involved with Serpent Sol.
I absolutely love how this is so many canon stories mixed together with its own little spin, and my favorite detail was when Sol stomped his foot, I specifically remember that scene
I want to point out Lionblaze moving to stand in front of his siblings when he notices they're afraid at 7:08 since it's easy to miss with the action at front! It's an adorable detail that shouldn't be missed!

Ironically, I think that Holly is going to help stop the imposter who is Ashfur in Brambleclaw's clothing, and she is being manipulated by a strange figure who then reveals himself to be Sol, cursed to be a serpent forever, when she decides to go against him. I'm still thinking this out and how it would work out with combining this and Bramblefur, but hopefully since all the maps are connected in some way, this could happen.

I really love this map. My favourite part about it is probably how through out the map you see sol get more and more obsessed with squirrel flight. At the start just a normal friendship because he wanted to help her. And as he slowly grows closer and closer with her he gets more and more attached because she is probably the only one that showed him love after his mother abandoned him. But after she started showing more attention to her kits and getting angry at him for letting them get to close to a snake this is kinda his awaken like “I need her for myself. No one else should be around her ONLY ME” Not sure if this is right I haven’t read the script.
I'm really hoping that we'll see the Ashfur plotline they set up at the beginning play out like this, paralleling Ashfur's and Sol's obsessions with Squirrelflight

I really cannot express how much this means to me. I’ve never seen my culture expressed in such a beautiful way. The way StarClan was fit to alebrije. I think it’s the most beautiful thing ever and it’s put into one of mine and many’s favorite book. This map has made so many of us happy and I’m happy my culture gets to be shared with everyone! Thank you so much for hosting and to the animators who even made this possible! I lost my pet yesterday and this really has brightened my spirits. To know that he will come back in spirit is amazing to me. I visited my home town in Mexico about three days ago so this is really incredible to me ❤️

Okay I can't say enough cool things about this map, from the nicely stylized designs and art direction to the excellent pacing and storytelling. But I want to address a few highlights: 0:46 I know everyone's going to be raving about this part but I don't care holy shit that snake swivel is so smooth and JuniperKit's little turn and smile is perfectly timed. 2:16 Sol is so cute ohmygosh, then his rattling his tailtip while hiding behind his plush is a great touch (and did I mention he's cute?) 2:25 Everyone did a great job with the backgrounds but I gotta admire the geometric shapes of the cave here, as it still looks natural and has nice colors. 4:42 Hollykit going "yay!" and TOE BEANS! 5:10 I'm sorry that still of LionKit is becoming my next wall[paper or something that is so cute. 5:20 Sol's huge crying eyes are both hilarious and adorable here- great job of making him seem immature/childlike and making me smile 6:02 Cuddly Sol~ 6:54 I love how stealthily FeatherTail is walking here, nice attention to detail 7:05 That lens flare on the sun is *sweet* 7:08 Just noticed Sol's forked tongue- nice touch. Also that midair slap was AWESOME and don't think I didn't see LionKit protectively get in front of his siblings. 7:28 THAT TRANSFORMATIONNNNN 7:30 Oh my god where to start... the amazing camera pan, the kits' adorable expressions, wow 7:40 That "run!" was much cooler than it had any right to be, wtf 7:43 UHHH WASN'T THIS A **WEEKEND** MAP? Oh there's so much I could say about how this Map turned out, but I'll simply say this; it was fantastic and so well done art/pacing/writing-wise. Like I said in the live chat, everyone did excellent work on each part. The fact that there were 170 artists and that this map turned out to probably be the longest I've ever seen, is a true work of art and dedication that is through the roof!!

This MAP is extremely important to me. I live in a Mexican populated city in the South of Texas nearest to the border. We see so much here from both the US and from Mexico that many of us feel pain because of, but we also see the beauty of culture that gets overlooked because of how bad both governments are, and how they treat us. Seeing this within a MAP brings me so much joy and makes me proud of who I am, with the beauty of storytelling and culture.

Agree! There even was an "Ajoloton" who was supposed to depose axolotls in the wild in the Lake of Xochimilco, instead the government lead those axolotls to their death, due the river being highly contaminated and some african fishes being their main depredators

As a Mexican, this map is a great example of what Mexico has in it's culture.
The caves,the desert, the landscapes, the spirits, the chinampas, the trajinera, everything is a great jewel of art and animation. But above all, I like that you are talking about the magic that Mexico has: that Sol has the ability to tirn into a snake like a Nahual ( a person who can turn into an animal)

Around 5:11 is probably my favorite lil clip of the map the pure joy on Sol face when hes showing the kits the snake and the disappointment afterwards he knew it was harmless and was having fun with the kits he was probably trying to get closer to the kits to get closer to squirleflight but then proceeded to change his mind after this incident that they are in his way

As a Mexican, there is something I have to say about the Thumbnail, and it is that I love it because it makes me nostalgic! The artists really knew how to capture that the map is inspired in Mexico, because the art reminds me of elementary school textbooks, where the history book always had images that seemed to be hand-painted. When I was little, I always stared at those images, and the thumbnail one reminds me a lot of Quetzalcóatl (the feathered serpent god)

ALSO PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION OF THE VID
Quiero comentar que cuando empezamos este proyecto hace ya largo rato, estaba emocionada y a la vez aterrada. A mí personalmente me cuesta mucho hablar de México, porque tengo muchísimas emociones y en su mayoría por mucho tiempo fueron negativas. Mi relación con mi país, con mi propia ciudad, está dañada. El solo pensar en todas las problemáticas sociales y políticas por las que pasamos es muy agotador, y esto es sin contar las desafortunadas experiencias que yo he tenido…pero gracias a éste map tuve la oportunidad de empezar a sanar mi relación con mi ciudad, ya que se me dio la oportunidad de redescubrir mi país desde otra perspectiva: el registro de la biodiversidad para dirigir un proyecto.
Mientras planeábamos serpent sol, nos aventamos al reto de reimaginar el valle de México (y otras partes de México) en una dramática sequía y esto incluyó hacer un registro de la vegetación que crece aquí para seleccionar qué plantas podríamos usar en éste caso (aquellas que sobrevivirían, y aquellas que aunque en un caso real no sobreviven, son icónicas del lugar) , mientras más avanzan los personajes en su viaje, más plantas vamos encontrando, pasando de un lago estereotípicamente seco a un valle que intenta sobrevivir con las pocas lluvias que le quedan, y finalizando con el valle rejuvenecido, lleno de vida y colores.
Tal vez no sea perfecto, pero a mí personalmente me ha ayudado muchísimo a ver mi país con nuevos ojos; ver la cantidad de vida única e increíble que crece en nuestras tierras y dibujarla. México es un territorio enorme, lleno de vida, colores, tradiciones, y personas valientes que luchan a pesar de que todo esté en su contra con tal de proteger este hermoso país.
Y por esto quiero agradecer enormemente a todas las personas involucradas que han ayudado a hacer este proyecto una realidad, por aguantar todas mis paredes de texto llenas de feedback en cada WIP, y por el esfuerzo de investigar, conocer, y aplicar nueva vegetación, escenarios, y colores a sus partes. Todes hicieron un trabajo espectacular, cada WIP nuevo y cada parte finalizada que llegaba me hizo el día. La energía y pláticas que pudimos tener durante la producción siempre estarán en mi corazón, al igual que todes ustedes.

I want to comment that when we started this project a long time ago, I was excited and terrified at the same time. Personally, it is very difficult for me to talk about Mexico, because I have many emotions and most of them were negative for a long time. My relationship with my country, with my own city, is damaged. Just thinking about all the social and political problems that we go through is very exhausting, and this is without counting the unfortunate experiences that I have had... but thanks to this map I had the opportunity to begin to heal my relationship with my city, that I was given the opportunity to rediscover my country from another perspective: the registry of biodiversity to direct a project.
While planning serpent sol, we took on the challenge of reimagining the Valley of Mexico (and other parts of Mexico) in a dramatic drought and this included making a record of the vegetation that grows here to select which plants we could use in this case (those that would survive, and those that although in a real case do not survive, they are iconic of the place), the more the characters advance on their journey, the more plants we find, going from a stereotypically dry lake to a valley that tries to survive with the few rains that remain, and ending with the rejuvenated valley, full of life and colors.
It may not be perfect, but personally it has helped me a lot to see my country with new eyes; see the amount of unique and incredible life that grows on our lands and draw it. Mexico is a huge territory, full of life, colors, traditions, and brave people who fight despite everything being against them in order to protect this beautiful country.
And for this I want to thank enormously all the people involved who have helped make this project a reality, for putting up with all my walls of text full of feedback in each WIP, and for the effort to investigate, learn about, and apply new vegetation, scenarios , and colors to their parts. Everyone did a spectacular job, each new WIP and each finished part that arrived made my day. The energy and talks we were able to have during the production will always be in my heart, as will all of you.

I now this sounds weird but my theory about all of the AU's is that there all the stories are legends passed down though the clans or like oral stories that changed depending on the person telling them. That's why at the end of Sharpen Your Teeth it shows Squirrelflight telling the stories too Hollykit. This might be a stretch and I don't think it counts Traveler feather but it's a good start.

I just realized the foreshadowing at 4:42 and continuing on that Sol is carrying HollyKit, and that this shows the situation continuing on after the matter and how HollyFawn gets involved with Serpent Sol.
I absolutely love how this is so many canon stories mixed together with its own little spin, and my favorite detail was when Sol stomped his foot, I specifically remember that scene
I want to point out Lionblaze moving to stand in front of his siblings when he notices they're afraid at 7:08 since it's easy to miss with the action at front! It's an adorable detail that shouldn't be missed!

Ironically, I think that Holly is going to help stop the imposter who is Ashfur in Brambleclaw's clothing, and she is being manipulated by a strange figure who then reveals himself to be Sol, cursed to be a serpent forever, when she decides to go against him. I'm still thinking this out and how it would work out with combining this and Bramblefur, but hopefully since all the maps are connected in some way, this could happen.

It has really been an honor to participate in this project, it has been fun and interesting to see how each of the parts were completed. How diverse it is in flora and fauna really makes me happy, everyone has put a lot of effort into it!

The way 3:22 is a replica of the scene in A Shadow In RiverClan. The attention to detail these artists put in is amazing
I feel like sol really wanted squirrelflight to be his mother or at least have her as his mother, and I love how he starts to get possessive of her because of that
I never thought that I would end up partaking in a project as big as this, but here I am, ending up in a MAProject with that many parts! It's always fun to be in your MAPs, Cheetz! And to be in one where it has one of my favorite Warrior Cats characters! I feel so happy to have joined this MAP and understand more about your culture! Thank you for letting me join, like always!
I really love this map. My favourite part about it is probably how through out the map you see sol get more and more obsessed with squirrel flight. At the start just a normal friendship because he wanted to help her. And as he slowly grows closer and closer with her he gets more and more attached because she is probably the only one that showed him love after his mother abandoned him. But after she started showing more attention to her kits and getting angry at him for letting them get to close to a snake this is kinda his awaken like “I need her for myself. No one else should be around her ONLY ME”
Not sure if this is right I haven’t read the script.
I'm really hoping that we'll see the Ashfur plotline they set up at the beginning play out like this, paralleling Ashfur's and Sol's obsessions with Squirrelflight
at 6:33 sol looks so funny- I love how the map is serious and funny at the same time
2:10 I love at this art, sol’s eye blinks with a snake eyelid! Which is insane attention to detail, lol
Hang on... Sol's blink at 2:12... That's how a snake blinks. That's an amazing detail not many pay attention to!!

I really cannot express how much this means to me. I’ve never seen my culture expressed in such a beautiful way. The way StarClan was fit to alebrije. I think it’s the most beautiful thing ever and it’s put into one of mine and many’s favorite book. This map has made so many of us happy and I’m happy my culture gets to be shared with everyone! Thank you so much for hosting and to the animators who even made this possible! I lost my pet yesterday and this really has brightened my spirits. To know that he will come back in spirit is amazing to me. I visited my home town in Mexico about three days ago so this is really incredible to me ❤️

It was a pride and a dream to have participated in this map, everything turned out so beautiful in the end, I hope to work with you again ^^, and the map editing was very good and innovative, even with the characters' lines.
I loved the fact that Fef made flowers and other plants for "every type of person" (Helpers, writers, editors, participant, etc.)

This is the most ambitious MAProject I've ever seen, and I've been around for a,, very long time. I am so proud of everyone involved who's given their everything in this, it's so clear this is a true love-letter to Mexican culture and nature. I'm so happy I could be apart of this, thank you so much Fef and Cheetz for hosting this incredible project! now excuse me i must replay and rewatch this for a few more hours now 🐍💚

Okay I can't say enough cool things about this map, from the nicely stylized designs and art direction to the excellent pacing and storytelling. But I want to address a few highlights:
0:46 I know everyone's going to be raving about this part but I don't care holy shit that snake swivel is so smooth and JuniperKit's little turn and smile is perfectly timed.
2:16 Sol is so cute ohmygosh, then his rattling his tailtip while hiding behind his plush is a great touch (and did I mention he's cute?)
2:25 Everyone did a great job with the backgrounds but I gotta admire the geometric shapes of the cave here, as it still looks natural and has nice colors.
4:42 Hollykit going "yay!" and TOE BEANS!
5:10 I'm sorry that still of LionKit is becoming my next wall[paper or something that is so cute.
5:20 Sol's huge crying eyes are both hilarious and adorable here- great job of making him seem immature/childlike and making me smile

Oh there's so much I could say about how this Map turned out, but I'll simply say this; it was fantastic and so well done art/pacing/writing-wise. Like I said in the live chat, everyone did excellent work on each part. The fact that there were 170 artists and that this map turned out to probably be the longest I've ever seen, is a true work of art and dedication that is through the roof!!
