    Dominic gives me a "proud to be Canadian feel" ... I could listen to him all day - thanks David - pulled at the heartstrings at the end as I lost a friend to leukemia in the mid 70's - today he most likely would have been cured, so glad Dominic survived his ANK Lymphoma!

    All I could think listening to this interview: What if Dom LeBlanc had been installed as PM in January? What a different place the Liberals would be in today. A differetn place this nation would be? Sensible, well-spoken, grounded in the possible. There remains a large cohort in the centre feeling homeless. Dom LeBlanc gives these folks a reason to participate again. .

    Great interview with Dominic LeBlanc🙏! Got to know him a bit better! He reminds me philosophically and politically of Jean Chrétien! FYI ,economically, Chrétien had the best era for Canada! That’s excellent IMO! PS I had been working on claims settlements for years! Canada needs to get a better handle on this going forward. But clearly a large contingent liability.

    Great interview. I appreciated hearing Mr LeBlanch speak on several of the topics you brought up. It’s refreshing to hear the man himself talk about his experiences with Trump, his plans for his new portfolio and the fight against drugs which have taken so many lives, instead of having to listen to sound bites that have been crafted to sway your opinion. His story about his fight with cancer will offer hope to many others who are battling this illness and shows how many more options there are now in the medical field to help sick people. 👏👏👏

    LeBlanc seems like a pleasant and likable politician but clearly appears to be learning on the fly when he asks David, "....can you explain the K-shape recovery?...." Yikes! Only positive is that he has former Finance Minister Goodale and a multiple resources to help him through it. He's got a lot on his plate and clearly shows that the Liberal party lacks depth or loyalty is the PM doesn't trust backbenchers to step up. I wish him well during his tenure.

      He litterally interviews everyone. Just because you don't like Liberals shouldn't be an indictment on David. He's also the new Finance Minister in the aftermath of this political crisis, who wouldn't want to interview him.
      You need to develop better commentary then wah wah wah Liberals bad.

    This was a good interview for LeBlanc. I have honestly never got a good vibe from Dom LeBlanc but he really came across as a solid guy in this interview. Some people have an instant gravity and people are drawn to them - only later when you get to know them you find out what jerks they really are. Some people come across as distant but later you find out they are really great people - LeBlanc seems to be the later.

    He seems like a nice fellow but very much a retail politician. He is so clearly out of his depth as a finance minister. His only asset is his loyalty to Justin which is not a requirement of the actual job. Canada is being so damaged him Trudeau and his nonsense.

    While I am impressed with Dominic LeBlanc and I wish him every success, I think it is manifestly unfair that Trudeau is leaning so heavily on him. I have no great insight into the dynamics of how these two get along; I believe that Trudeau at this point in his tenure is taking advantage of LeBlanc. Trudeau should resign, immediately, and we should let the next election runs its course.
    In LeBlanc's favour is that he clearly appears to be someone who delegates and treats his people as valued contributors. If anyone can make these three portfolios work, it would be him. It is apparent that he is already trying to sort out the overarching concerns about dealing with Trump that span all three of his government ministries. He is a strategic thinker of the highest order. I bet that the Americans will be very impressed in dealing with him.

    Given Davids comments about Trudeau leaving is this not just Davids push to make sure LeBlanc becomes the short term Liberal leader and Prime Minister?

    • @Gronmin
      @Gronmin 14 днів тому +1

      No, if you were to follow that I believe David has said that Trudeau would be expected to stay on as Prime Minister and leader until they find a new one. This is just an interview with a cabinet minister who is currently in the news for the podcast.... not some 12D chess political move on a small podcast...

    • @Griff1984
      @Griff1984 14 днів тому +3

      @@Gronmin This will be for when Trudeau leaves. Leblanc is setting up a leadership run. Whether its appearing on this podcast, saying Carney is not coming in or not answering the question on Trudeau leaving. The title 'The Right Honourable' is a lifetime title regardless if you are only Prime Minister for a passing moment.
      If you listen to the podcast on Tuesday David says two things. Trudeau will either leave or be forced out. David also says that he would consider a Liberal 'win' 30 percent and 100 seats. This is Davids save the furniture candidate.

    Ok I am only 12 minutes in and I really do not like this guy. We cannot suck up to bullies. And Trump's actions have nothing to do with fentanyl. That is just the excuse he is using to make a public show of 'dominating Canada' so he looks like a tough guy. This guy is not equipped to deal with someone like Trump. He would get walked all over. We cannot afford to have that kind of kiss ass response right now. Sorry but I just can't watch any more of this crap.

  • @mikebose-kf3xu

    Canada is at a crossroads. We do not need a Federal Election at this time. We should be focused on the Trade Tariff problem with Trump. We should have two tracks. A diplomatic track with all that it entails. And we should have regardless a very serious emergency track otherwise. Canada should secure the border. We need to assess and work on our "self sufficiency " as a nation. As many products should be produced in Canada. We need to completely develop new trade partnerships globally and independently. These American political headwinds have made us vulnerable. Canada needs to cut any military related ties with the U.S..A. Canada needs a peace keeping role in global affairs. Support global peace as we have done historically. As a nation state the U.S.A. is failing internationally which should be of grave concern to us. The U.S.A. with it's current political situation can no longer claim "democracy". It has crossed into autocratic territory. Dominic LeBlanc is a very experienced statesman and is equal to this task as any Canadian. As a rider, any of the Premiers and opposition leaders need to consider if they are making this Tariff problem worse by disunity comments . Present a united front. The Americans have no idea what they have unleashed in the U.S.A., but they have the next 4 years to find out. Good luck to the world at large.
