Hey, I just discovered your channel, I started learning SQL few days ago, I find the data analyst job really fun and interesting so far ! I'm thinking about SQL during the whole day 😅 I just watched 2 of your videos, you seem like a really cool dude ! There's a lot of ungenuine junk crap channels out there in the dev field and yours doesn't seem like one. You seem very genuine and kind in your way of teaching, probably because you've been a teacher before 😅 anyway just wanted to say that I've loved the two videos I've seen so far 😅 i'll check the rest, can't wait to see what you will eventually come up with in the future ! Have a great day

Hello Matt! Thanks for the information on this topic.
A salary of 34k is still more than what I made last year. Not to lowball myself but I would be willing to take a job that paid as little as 40k a year to not only gain work experience, but have a job I would actually enjoy doing! I do have a masters in an unrelated field and the Google Data Analytics certificate, but am wondering if I should pursue a degree in accounting as it seems most of my previous jobs excluding my most recent seasonal role are completely unrelated and may not impress hiring managers. I mention accounting because it would possibly open up more opportunities for roles in either the accounting field or analytics field thus hopefully getting me out of this low wage retail/food service job spree I've been doing for nearly seven years now as I've had no luck getting a descent job since graduation.

Hey Donnelly! Have you considered getting an analytics degree as opposed to an accounting degree? There's no harm in moving into another field as you work on transitioning but I'd say if you're going to add to your education, double down on analytics. Hang in there! I'm sure the best is yet to come.

Great information, as a supply chain, transportation, and logistics management student three classes away from having a bachelor's degree. Which path would be better to become a supply chain analyst. A master's degree in a supply chain domain or a certification in data analytics. Thanks in advance!

I would go for a certification in data analytics after graduating to prove you have the skills in that domain. You can always return to getting your Masters later if you feel you need it. Congrats on graduating soon! That's awesome!

Hello Matt, Thanks for the video.
One question, how has the job market been in your journey? You mentioned that you made a career change, And I would like to know how difficult your journey has been from non-tech to tech. I Am just wrapping up my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems and focusing on data analytics. Did you end up getting a degree or add on any certifications to your resume?
    Thanks and God speed

I wouldn't say it's been easy, but I have been able to go at my own pace which has been great. I did not need to go back to school for a formal degree in analytics to break into the field, but I also had almost a decade of professional experience in other industries that added to my value as a hiring candidate.
For me, the hardest part has always been navigating the data job market. Entry-level roles are especially competitive so it can be challenging to get your foot in the door.
Congrats on wrapping up your bachelors soon! With a degree like that, you're definitely off to a great start!
