    While I had a few issues with my first AEA, the replacement has been 100% on point. I own the HPSS .30 and its been stellar. No jams or loss of accuracy or power. I'd feel confident recommending this company to a friend.

    I noticed you turned you power way back to get an average of 840 +- FPS . I kept mine at full power and putting the pellets into the same 3/4” hole at fifty yards. Shooting perfectly right out of the box . It shoots a different slug with almost the same grouping just a slightly different impact from the bullseye with 1 1/2” group.

    I owned an HP Varmint and ultimately traded it in for a Challenger Pro. It's a reasonably well made, high power air rifle with two big issues (in my opinion): first the trigger is hard and gritty (but can be made better by polishing the surfaces and swapping the springs) and the bolt is extremely hard to cock. Forget about fast follow up shots or letting the kids give it a go. If you can live with the bolt and have some basic DIY skills, the HP Varmint can be made into a better than decent shooter.

      Yeah..it's only $599

    • @Oregon-airguns
      @Oregon-airguns 2 роки тому +4

      @@AirgunChannel you can buy a CZ 455 .22lr for $599 one of the most accurate rimfires ever made. Might be comparing apples to oranges. But IMO there’s nothing budget friendly about a 600 air rifle. There shouldn’t be major flaws at that price point.
      With that said, I do own a fx maverick sniper and a Vulcan v3 700mm .30
      Both are great guns!! But they’re over priced no doubt.

      @@Oregon-airguns a lot of people say the same thing of course you could spend three hundred bucks and get a Ruger 10/22 but that's not the point I have plenty of powder burners ,I enjoy shooting my air rifles I can thread on a suppressor and shoot right in my backyard and no one even knows a lot of people do not have the acreage to be able to shoot powder burners in their yard, agreed it's an expensive Hobby but if you're into it you're into it I take it a lot of times as a challenge especially hunting with air rifles, when I go small game I could just as easily just grab the Ruger but there was something about hunting with the air rifles

      @@dangerous8333 I don't see them as poorly made, I have been shooting the hp and a Challenger for two years the only issue I've had was one broken valve pin and they are working on improving the materials for the valve pins right now, of course there are some things that could use some improvement but that being said they are coming out with new generations of their products all the time so at least they are a company that reacts to customers comments seriously and improve their product, they are a relative newcomer in the air rifle industry and no one else is really doing what they do for the prices that they charge, anything similar to their guns is at least twice or three times the price, so they could go all out and get crazy such as adding dual regulators a lot more customisation but then that cuts out the guy that was already buying their guns, which is the guy that doesn't have the money to drop 2 Grand on a air rifle

    • @bertbccfu9564
      @bertbccfu9564 2 роки тому

      @@dangerous8333 as far as wasting 600 I do not see it that way I would buy another HP varmint in a second and I'm glad I took a chance on them I would shoot against an fx or a lieshy at 50 yards any day, 3/8 or 1 whole groups at 50 yards are the same whether they are shot out of a $2,000 gun or a $600 gun

    The problem is going down to such a light .25 cal pellet you're losing all that FPE for accuracy which defeats the purpose for having all that power, IMO. I never had luck with AEA past 45 yards other than the Challenger series which are pretty accurate. Great for pesting up close though, you can really stone them varmints. Thanks for the review, champ. Keep up the great work. FX wildcat BT next?

    • @bertbccfu9564
      @bertbccfu9564 2 роки тому

      The problem is past 45 yd the pellets are already losing too much Steam passed 45 you need to switch to slugs, 4 long-range I've been shooting 32 grain Griffin slugs I haven't done a hundred yards yet but at 75 they perform pretty good way more than enough for hunting even though ethically I'd probably only stick to 50 yards for hunting with a .25 cal

    • @bertbccfu9564
      @bertbccfu9564 2 роки тому

      And I agree with you with the light pellet statement I started out shooting the 25 grain jsb then quickly switch to the 33.95, I run a regulator on my gun though so I can turn the regulator back and still use the 25 grain for Target use
