like literally, she could probably keep all her blouses that she already has, the shoes and tights, but less/one accessory, and a more professional looking skirt.
They need to make a show where "normal" or "trendy" people get alternative makeovers. Give them a turn to wear more than just jeans and a shirt or a simple dress. Edit: whoa I didn't think this comment would get so much attention. Thanks for liking it I guess!
Might be the shadenfreaude in me, but I'd love to see some general "chick" person who thinks beige is fierce go into a room with alt stylists and get subjected to "oh honey when I look at your getup I feel like I'm taking sleeping pills cause you're putting me to sleep here. You look like someone who thinks salt is too spicy."
@@Sara-sn5gd YES OMG like having a bunch of punks and j-fashion people completely ROAST the hell out of people who follow the latest trends. Give them a taste of their own medicine lol!
That would be awesome! I’m sure there are tons of people out there who have seen an alt person on the street or something and thought “wow I love that...but I could never wear that.” (I know lots of us lolita’s thought that once ourselves) but they just don’t know where to start or are too afraid. The BOOM the alt fashion people come in and make their crazy fashion dreams come true! Man- I’d watch that.
@@PerfectPride Yess! Exactly! The show can feature makeovers of different kinds of people. People who want to try alt fashion all the way to people who haven't heard of it. NETFLIX WHERE YOU AT
Oh no no no no! You don't understand. Adding just a hint of a soft color and a bit of a lace or bow trim drastically reduces your ability to reason with facts and logic. It has to do with the boredarium gland that stops producing the sternserious enzyme- it's terribly sensetive to visuals.
THIS! It is more obvious in the work place, where the only outfit you can wear to be called "professional" and be taken seriously is a full suit or a blazer. So, I gotta dress like a man to be taken seriously. That says a lot about people's mindset and it's really baffling that it is not even being questioned more often.
It infuriates me so much because I've experienced little difference in how people treat me based on how feminine my silhouette is. I worked at Macy's and was expected to dress in business wear that still granted me movement for the retail aspects of my job. I wore slacks and blazers just as often as I wore dresses. Even when I wore a fit-and-flare dress and low heels, I was treated with the same respect as when I wore slacks and a blazer with flats. I know it's not the exact same as working in an office environment and is only one experience, but my hometown (where I worked) is rampant with the passive-aggressive California flavor of prejudice.
I'd go further and ask why are pastels and bows, lace and ruffles considered feminine or in other words: for women? 70s men's fashion was full of ruffles and 💩. And purple-rain-sexymotherfudger-Prince wore lace all lot in the 80s. Why are men only able to wear denim and cotton?
Another huge difference between this and What Not to Wear is that she _wanted_ help with her style. She wasn't ambushed by "well meaning" family and friends, she wanted a change. Those street ratings were dumb af tho lol
exactly, she wanted a style that would look more professional and she could wear to work, but that she could be comfortable with. and though some of the things they say are questionable, they actually bothered to listen to her and try to incorporate things of her usual style ( the bow, the plataforms, the pink bag or the big eyelashes) the resulting outfit does look like it still has some of herself in it and she looks comfortable in it.
I dress generic, because I like that style, But I loved her outfit, make-up aside. However I understand her feeling of discomfort To get into a new style, as normal people Are the worst at transitioning you Into a new style comfortably.
@@BramLastname I happened to have said the exact same thing to myself about her own style as well. But those people who judged her style with fake persons along with themselves on the street?. Now despite that I wear rags in a cave room. I could literally tell these judges how to dress up better in accordance to their own mundane common clothes, even from a wall mart outlet too.
I hate the idea that at 28 you have to "grow up" and not wear alternative fashion anymore. I'm 30 and you can pry Mori and cottagecore out of my cold dead hands 🤷♀️
I'm eighteen and I've never had any kind of style, when I was in highschool I just couldn't choose my clothes because of the price and because of the lack of variety that we have in small towns. I would like to get into lolita but I don't think I'll be able until I have my own job which means that I have to wait until I become an independent adult. Sometimes I get sad when people say that you can't have certain styles when you are older because that means that some of us will never be able yo wear the clothes we like :(
I mean, she actually wasn't opposed to jeans in general, just those jeans, and boring blue and black. They're certainly not the most comfortable thing for someone who's chronically ill to wear, but also she wouldn't be wearing them every day. Jeans do come in pastel colours. Give the girl a pair of lilac jeans and a white version of that bow neck blouse she liked and I think it would be a pretty good "toned down" version of her style.
@@dutchik5107 it looked like they put something I'd pull out of my vacuum cleaner on the bottoms of them. Also, yea, they looked like they were some especially rough, scratchy fabric. You could just tell by looking at them that they were uncomfortable
I, like, always wear jeans when going out... especially high-waisted ones, they feel like hugs 🥺 until my stomach starts acting up... but I can see why they would make other chronically ill people uncomfortable
CommentBot same, but we’ve probably mastered the art of picking comfortable jeans... that are also good looking. Softer wide leg pastel jeans or jegging/stretch jeans would’ve been so nice for her rather then those paper shredder sandpaper jeans
I hated how the boyfriend talked about her. I have a friend who dresses similarly occasionally and if her boyfriend would talk about her like that she would dump him so fast.
i think the reason most popular shows use ‘dolly’, ‘doll-like’, etc, is to stay away from the L word and it’s stigma with pedophiles. i dress lolita and i can see why they might wanna not say it outright.
I get that with some of these shows but... doll fetishes are also a thing... and they also used the word lolita fashion multiple times so I don’t see why they still shoehorned it in 😭
@@TheStitchess my mum says lolita is called lolita fashion cause it's inspired by the book and it's to try to look like a kid and like pedophilia and costume look so I get they don't wanna portray that to the public. It's so sad though to have that as a mother and my fashion style be lolita and just general pastel kawaii and have her say all that and say that I want to be japanese because I love japanese fashion like 😭😭😭😭 mum I wanna look cute not japanese
@@민지야-l3p knowing that the book has little to no description of Dolores' clothing it's especially strange. I guess I've read a few essays on why this style is called Lolita (spoiler: most of them say it's not related to the novel) but it was so long ago that I don't remember the reasons they gave
Crazy Лето I read a thing about it, but It was a long time ago and I may butcher what I remember so don’t quote me on this. But I read somewhere that ppl who didn’t practice the fashion referred to it as Lolita bcuz of the child like look, but they did it as an insult and the name stuck because people who wore Lolita fashion just coined the term for themselves. I probably said this in the most vague way but it’s partly what I remember reading about.
It seems like they're just trying not to offend her. Because they're careful, that might sound like babying to you, But they're really just doing a make over properly.
@@gvtterslag with such a public image, I don't think it's easy to truly treat someone as equal, Especially if the other person is very humble And even a bit discrediting to themselves. They tell her she's too harsh on herself, Not because they're trying to be nice, But because she actually is sweating over insignificant details. If she isn't comfortable with the hosts, The end result will be majorly disappoint her, Which in turn disappoints the audience. I see it kinda like a teacher at schooling for adults, The teacher is as equal to you as you perceive them to be.
@@BramLastname Yeah maybe you do have a point there. I guess I just get annoyed when in my own experience people talk down to me or baby me because I like to dress cute or because I'm soft spoken. I'd much rather being treated like the young adult I am rather than their little sister that they have to protect. But I suppose it's different for a t.v show.
@@gvtterslag I understand, But looking at the video, She does stand up for herself, So I think you might've indeed projected a bit too much. That being said, it's okay to tell people you don't need their protection/help at the moment. Most people won't take offense to it, Unless you're really rude about it. (Which I highly doubt you'd be)
The one thing I didn't entirely like about this show is how they did the "society rating" thing. I don't take society at all into account whenever I dress the way I like that day. The only thing I truly care about is how comfortable I feel and how I feel in general in the outfit I've chosen, which is a tough thing to do at times. But you shouldn't base your whole fashion sense about what society wants you to wear, wear things for yourself. Be yourself, really.
I know right? A lot of the time I'll catch myself thinking, "is this too much?" or "what if it's not normal enough?" but I've just got to remember that being 'normal' doesn't make me happy; being myself does :)
I'm chronically ill and laughed so hard about the" give the chronically ill person jeans" i havent touched jeans in years they are literally my enemy when it comes to being ill
I’m not a part of the Lolita community, so I don’t really understand how that’s a bad thing. I think it’s a pretty good idea of what Lolita fashion looks like when describing it to someone who doesn’t know. I suppose I could understand how it might be odd since Lolita fashion is worn by humans and not toys, though vintage dolls do have some of the most intricate outfits I’ve seen lol
I don't know. When I was a "goth" girl, I would have preferred being described as darkly inclined. I didn't personally like being labeled. Everyone is different.
E if only they knew about Korean women’s fashion! There are so many ideas you can get to combine girly pastel without being Lolita with Korean fashion trends
Mmmm maybe they could have keep the pastels but in a more structured way like I can see her in wide legs pastel purple pants and a lacy edwardian inspired blouse. That would still be pretty cute but less lolita-ish
I keep seeing people say something like this. Well yes there are pastel blouses and flowier tops that she could wear, but that wouldnt necessarily be helping her. They kept her in a zone she was comfortable with but pushed her in styles and colors that she wouldnt immediately go to. Giving room to work on how she could look more professional but still playful with her style without automatic defaulting to her normal wear. I mean the whole clothing segment she was being taught to look about certain piece and taking this she likes and doesnt like so she would be able to take that out when she were shopping for her non lolita wear.
I’m actually really happy with the mention of hair loss, and the fact that they discussed it so casually. This isn’t something that comes up enough in the beauty community. As someone who also has pretty severe hair loss, I feel so validated right now. 😭❤️
I was heartbroken when my hair started falling out due to chronic illness. It was a huge hit to my self-esteem. Now silvery/grey is growing in its place and I couldn't be happier.
I really dont understand why a lot of these shows act like you cant have different styles for different occasions, you ALWAYS have to have a business look and can NEVER wear anything alternative and you CANT combine your personal/alternative style into the other. This one definitely tried more than others, but they couldve given her the suit in more pastel type colors like she's used to, those are everywhere
I know right??? Alternative people know how to dress down just like other people and oftentimes have a separate wardrobe for casual/mainstream clothing. I don't know why some people don't seem to understand this. Do they think we get super dressed up just to run a quick errand or do the dishes? xD
It's lazy and cheap, that's what it is. Only generic allowed, no extra thinking. Format must be kept simple and stupid. It's insulting to everyone's intelligence and dignity, even the hosts hate it and speak up against it now. I didn't remember it to be so nasty but whoa, they just keep trodding on those people and so cruelly..
I didn't find it pitying, is it perhaps a cultural thing? For example, I grew up in South Africa where we respond "ah shame" to almost everything and Americans took it reeeally badly, when it means "well that sucks" or "that's so cute" or "well done!" And has nothing to do with shame :D so for me the "poor thing" comment was more of a "well that's shitty" type of statement rather than pity... I don't know if you're American though so..!
Kstina you might be right. It just always rubs me the wrong way because we know it sucks, we don’t need reminders every time we go outside. Yes I know I’m different now let me get my work done
@@sophiegrace9523 I get how that can get annoying quick! I can just imagine how disrupting that is, also how irritating with the whole lack of personal space
Yeah, that was the odd part to me. It was clear she loved colours, and they removed almost all colours except for accessories. Like a colorful jacket, or even just the bowtie could have been a nice color and it would have looked more her just with that small change.
@@spazzyisopod8220 which is exactly why they made her grey, To open up the possibility of less colourful, But still playful clothing. If they would've given her a pastel look She likely wouldn't've been comfortable with trying more traditional colours still, Which was exactly what she asked for in the beginning, A more traditional look that's still flattering.
@@BramLastname you really dont understand shit about her style and what she was asking for. she wanted to look more serious. you can look serious and still be in color. the stylists did a shit job at everything related to the color aspect. they gave her blacks and greys when she specifically said she liked color bc it helps her feel better and more upbeat. youve been on everything commenting about how they did so great and how they did that bc she wanted it. she didnt want anything black or grey she wanted bright pastel colors and a bit more serious style. they definitely could have given her more a serious style of clothing with more pastel colors. the entire ensemble can stay, but they could make it in color. it's such an easy thing to do
I kinda feel like the hairdresser has a guy in his ear telling him to “sound gayer” at certain points. Honesty I like the way they talked about the Lolita style and actually helped her and still tried to incorporate some elements like adding the neck piece and the white shirt with a collar. So she wasn’t so apprehensive.
Yeah, I got those vibes too... most reality tv personalities are just actors :/ even the what not to wear hosts were pressured to act “bitchier” on set.
The Stitchess I don’t understand why you’d want to be viewed as bitchy honestly. It makes the shows impossible to watch for me. Outside of the “public opinion” portion of the UK versions, at least the hosts are friendly.
@@koiyuwu Yes! And is he dressed in a way that portrays "professionalism"? Wear what you want dude but dressed like that very hard to take you seriously...he gives me the creeps.
Well, tbh to people who aren’t familiar with lolita it does seem quite doll-like and it’s because the fashion style was inspired by European dolls and the “Victorian style”. Not everybody can know everything in the world and that’s okay.
I much prefer people calling it doll-like (which is honestly fair, lolita fashion is often victorian doll inspired) than for them to constantly bring up the whole "Lolita" book/trope and imply that it's a sex kink thing.
i like how although the new look wasn’t lolita, the stylists still included pastels in the earrings and bag. And it was still a cute and playful look. So it still felt like her. Compared to other shows where its basically just what you’d find on a mannequin at a high end store.
Honestly, If they diched the trendy 80's oversized jacket 1)it would be closer to what she's used to and 2)I feel like with her youthful face, oversized clothes really make her look like a little girl wearing dad's jacket, which is kinda opposite of what she's going for with this make-under and people taking her seriously. I was struggling with this thorought my teens bc oversized is comfy but i was constantly treated like a baby.
They don't even have to ditch the jacket, Just get it one size smaller so it doesn't turn the entire outfit into a square, By leaving some room for the skirt, And she'd look a lot more flattering.
@@BramLastname the jacket is meant to be oversized, that's the style of the jacket. even if she went smaller on the size it still wouldve been big and oversized. you really don't know how clothing works
@@mothmadi_ I said one size smaller, Because it looked like it was slipping off And as I said the fact that it is the same length as the dress, which takes away from the shape of the dress. I don't have a problem with the oversized part, It just looks like this specific one doesn't fit her. Then again you're the same person who said she didn't like the final outfit, So I didn't expect you to understand.
I am surprised people promised this would be better than What Not To Wear. I watched much of the first season and I think the team was incredibly harsh at that point. They do seem to have toned it down in the later seasons though, so that's something at least. I think the public rating really rubs me the wrong way.
Yeah, idk why I should care about random strangers on the street lol. If a dude wants to rate me a 0 because of my fashion then I literally couldn’t care less.
@Eaccoonger I appreciate Caspian Okazaki's episode because now I know who he is and I love his style. I think you meant to say Phoenix because I'm pretty sure that's what he was going by in the episode. I also like the woman who I believe was in the first season who literally is a gothic model.
Same here. I watched 2 episodes I think and I had to stop. They were so mean and terrible to these people and their psychological strategies felt like they were going to traumatize the client.
the public ratings are so unnecessarily dehumanizing to me, it makes me so sad for the contestant to be boiled down into what they look like to strangers when most of the contestants are insecure in some way. they should be taught to love themselves and be more confident without the opinions of strangers, its just not productive :(
@@TheStitchess That makes me so sad/annoyed to hear. I only heard of this show through your channel, and I was thinking of watching a couple episodes because I enjoyed watching your video. They should be thanking you for the free promotion, not filing copyright claims against you. SMH.
Ah this show, I remember watching an episode (think it was S1) of a person who wore fairy Kei and they were so rude about it (calling the style "toddler clothes") and ignoring the person when they said many times they didn't want to wear a dress and prefer androgynous style clothes (sure they were in closet about being trans at the time but, even if they were female the crew should of still listed to their request not to wear dresses/skirts). This episode does seem to be a lot better than the episodes I watched (so glad they changed the stylist, this one seems to be WAY better) but idk if I would ever want to watch this show again.
That girl looks so amazing in warm tones, I was low-key hoping they would put her in a bright colored power suit. I definitely think this went better than the old "Let's throw everything out" What not to wear episodes.
These sort of shows piss me off. It’s so belittling to tell people, who truly are happy with what they wear, that their style is not “normal”. Just let people wear what makes them happy 😒 It’s not hurting anyone, ffs.
I actually agree OP, the way they talk about her old style is distasteful. If they hadn't insulted her to begin with and welcomed she just wanted a change of pace that would have been different.
This girl is so precious!! The part where she was talking abt her illness and why she wears pastel and stuff was too wholesome aah. i hope shes doing ok :)
I'm so in love that you just called jeans the most uncomfortable item of clothing ever. I have NEVER found jeans comfy and think that this is a weird trick all of earth is playing on us.
They’re not comfy, they’re just associated with blue collar labor and thus deemed “casual” clothing. I will never consider jeans comfortable, they press on my stomach and don’t allow for a full range of movement 🤷♀️
I feel like the lone island who loves jeans and can sleep in them 😅 But I also tend towards either men's, mid-price brand (~$80 for my splurge pair) or thrifted pairs that are already broken in. Maybe it's thanks to the water where I live or something lol, might make them softer.
I have a pair of high waisted mom jeans and some Jean sweats and both of them are comfortable. I agree that most jeans feel like wearing cardboard. They have to have a high and generous waist for me to want to wear them. I also have a pair of skinny jeans I tailored to fit my body and they are not that bad when compared to ones I have tried off the rack. I think finding jeans that don't hurt is like the holy grail. I wore nothing but leggings for years.
There's one episode that made me so angry while watching it. It was a woman who wore clothing that was heavily influenced by "Japanese streetwear", and that phrase was used throughout the entire episode. THEY JUST PUT HER IN A NAVY BLUE COCKTAIL DRESS! Turns out she hates navy blue.
I also appreciate that they kept the more covered up style that is common and I think is part of the lolita style. The blazer was boxy, the top covered her up, etc. IDK I'm very picky about when and how I show off my body, so I'd hate it if they put me in clothes they were way more or less revealing than what I'm used to.
I have the same type of lupus as her with similar symptoms. I’m glad that the hair stylist knew what he was doing and actually gave her a proper cut for hair loss! Lots of layers, volume, and keep it short! It makes the hair loss less noticeable, the hair is actually workable, is easy to put into a wig, and is very easy to maintain on crummy days.
I tried watching the first season of this and just couldn’t. They showcase only people on the streets who have like no interest in alt fashion ripping into the looks? I don’t know I wish they’d do a show like this where they’d talk to other people in the fashion about how to improve, or how to tone down for specific occasions instead of just people who don’t understand the alt fashion at all? They just rip into these kids and the afterlooks are never good.
I feel like they also changed the clothes stylist person bc she seems a lot nicer than from season 1, the season I watched. That season she used to seem personally offended if someone dislikes her style. I’m glad for the progress but this show still sucks lol
Interesting! It seems like they got nicer as time has passed (probably from all the harsh articles written about the show 😬) whereas what not to wear got meaner as time progressed...
The Stitchess It’s probably the culture difference between the US and Australia/New Zealand (?) ((I cant tell the accents apart, sorry to my Kiwis and Aussies our there 😣))
Clare Ann I don’t know if I’m missing context of other info about what you’re referencing but, the show isn’t Australian its British. Although the hair guy does seem to have an Australian sounding accent but it still sounds a little British
I love how she tries to sell the pencil skirt saying it flatters the female figure, but litterally 90% of females I've seen in them don't look good in them. And the ones that do have them tailored. 😂
Honestly a tad surprised with their approach, it did seem they tried to help. However, I could tell they wanted to do something more?? Perhaps they could have worked more color in, but maybe they were used to a darker pallet. I think she looked beautiful either way and I think they could have worked with a more playful tone into a "business casual" look. I think she took that approach for herself and blossomed.
i honestly think they probably were told to make the style look dramatically different. they did seem to know at least a little about how to incorporate her style into something more serious and toned down
@@mothmadi_ Well, it is show business. As long as it shows some type of transformation that looks dramatic and everyone gets paid, that's probably all that matters.

I really like this, because she obviously wanted the makeover and the show people were understanding and genuinely wanted to help her find a business style without forcing what they wanted on her.
I really like how they still played on some of the more cutesy and modern fashion trends that can transition well into Lolita - also I definitely agree that she looks amazing in warmer tones and it’s clear that at least in this series the hosts seem to care about the person they’re styling and the person who’s coming in actually wants to change their style and isn’t being pushed by friends or family to do it
My mother is the most amazing woman I've ever seen she has lumatoid arthritis and lupis and still gets up everyday ,goes to work ,cooks ,does laundry and takes care of me ,my 3 siblings and my grandmother .even though she is in pain all day everyday and this shit is seriouse so I hope the lolita in this vid pushes through
I do really enjoy this show, which totally caught me by surprise cuz I normally hate "makeover" shows. But they don't try to put their clients down or shame them for what they wear. And as you mentioned, they do put more work into finding out why their clients wear what they do. And the clients have a pretty big say in the final look. There have certainly been episodes where you can tell the client is not happy at all, But the majority have a positive outcome.
Honestly be proud of your fursuits! Furries are always being hated and wear them with the pride you have! :D and also I thinkt hey are pretty cool tho :0
@@WhattheBeck aye!! That's the spirit! :D and also omg 🥺 that takes a while I feel you I'm part weeb artist who also takes a long time in their art but I hope you can finish it! :D and also have a great day you amazing random person!
I appreciate the tone of 100% Hotter, I like that it really meets the makeover subjects where they are, but sometimes when they are trying to marry alternative and more casual fashion I think they miss the mark (like they'll add one vaguely alternative thing to a normal outfit). It worked really well in this episode, though. It helps that the people seem to actually want to change how they dress.
3:34-3:50 Completely agree! I worked at Macy's for a time, which meant I had to dress very professionally. Like, full on office wear that I could also move around in. Minimal makeup, very professional outfit choices, practical and simple shoes. However, my preferred style is nearly the complete opposite. I dress in a more casual goth/casual hipster style--ripped jeans, loud pants, crop tops, sheer tops, backless tops, etc. I love intricate shoes as well as combat boots and integrate wigs into my outfits as much as possible. I think most functional adults know how to separate the two and can recognize when it's appropriate to dress in a less standard style. One should not be judged solely for the outfits they choose to wear in their own time; it only becomes a problem when they _only_ wear that style and fail to dress in a way appropriate for a given situation.
This👏is👏a👏 styling. As a stylist, you are supposed to work with your client. You are supposed to learn about your client, make them feel special, and learn about their likes and dislikes. NOT, Crap on their style, and pulled a "I made your art better"with their style preference. It's all about what they like not what you like. This show was 10x better than what not to wear.
The pencil skirt is just classic “office wear”. It instantly ages the wearer and makes them look more mature. Which is why these make over shows love to take the “too young” looking and turns them into incredibly aged- almost too old looking versions of themselves that look like they have climbed the corporate ladder for years. Which is so outside of what younger generations are and do for a living. The red hair definitely looks nice on her and will help for lower maintenance look. I also felt like they could have given her the pastels she loved in a more business casual way instead of just throwing her into full on neutrals but I am glad she was given a fun business-y look in the episode.
They need to ask other alternative people when they rate an alternative fashion! Most everyday people don't understand the artistry behind it so of course everyone of those people would rate it low :/ Her outfit is incredible! the colors and coordination are incredible, the only issue I have is the lipstick should be warmer. Not to mention all of those clothes can come in pastels and you can still be taken seriously.
Man on the streets always involve selecting the most interesting responses. On reality tv or talk shows, it often goes to selecting the ones that are funniest or lean into their narrative.
13:38 "The pencil skirt! This is very flattering to the female figure" On SOME female figures? You put one on me and it's like a roll of toiler paper with fabric on it. I've got no shape. I hate them with a fiery passion.
Really just clicked on a whim, but now I'm subscribing. After you pointed out that trendy and stylish are different things. And because the whole video is great.
Is it becoz I’m kinda into Lolita but I dun understand how people can be so negative about Lolita even if they dun like alternative fashion I dun dress in alternative fashion but I appreciate the effort people put in I would never rate them 2/10 At least 6/10 even if I dun like it
Dun? Is it that hard to spell don’t? Same with “becoz”? I mean I get it if you’re not a native English speaker but if you are that’s kind of disappointing.
Rude. Appears someone has nothing better to do than fuss at someone's stylistic spelling choices. Nothing positive to say about the message of acceptance which was the actual content? Move along and don't say anything.
I actually really enjoy this show. I also kind of enjoy when somebody goes on it, tries and genuinely enjoys a “different take” on how they could look, but still opts for something personally more comfortable/right for them.
I'm obsessed with literally all the looks this girl was in. 😂 I love the oversized jacket and shorts combo they put her in, but the "after" portion with the embroidered collar white blouse and suspender skirt like...she looked amaziiing. Still lovely and girlish while being passable for business. I want to raid her closet.
it's actually really sad hearing her boyfriend making fun of her for wearing wigs and then minutes later you learn she wears them because her illness causes bald spots & she wants long hair :(
you should react to an episode of love lust run - it's a make overshow hosted by Stacy London from 2015 that revolves around 'the public' reaction to someone style (in the beginning 'the public' is asked to say if style of the person getting the makeover makes them feel love lust or want to run, then after they have been given the makeover 'the public' is again asked what they think about the new look
@@PlaystationSimmer idk I feel like this is a preference thing. I like bright red on anybody personally, especially if it really pops, but it might be too much for some people’s preferences. However, she didn’t like it

Okay, her after the show look was STUNNING. I love that she stuck with the hair color and her makeup was perfect and her toned down but still cutesy Lolita inspired style was everything! That’s the kind of glow up I love to see from these shows.

To take a quote from Tyler Willis, "Why is it that more serious means less feminine?"
Exactly. I... may have edited out a number of feminist rants...

I’m not a part of the Lolita community, so I don’t really understand how that’s a bad thing. I think it’s a pretty good idea of what Lolita fashion looks like when describing it to someone who doesn’t know. I thought the same. I think they could have combined her love for pastels and the need of a professional outfit to a pastel coloured suit.
I think the jacket is for when she has to meet in person or go to those conferences.
That would have been very Cher from Clueless in the right kind of ways!

Hi i want that outfit please 😅 🙋🏻♀️
When she said “oh you poor thing” I grimaced. We don’t want to be pitied, just accommodated when needed .

Jac oh definitely, there’s nothing worse than comparisons to the book :/
i like how although the new look wasn’t lolita, the stylists still included pastels in the earrings and bag.
They don't even have to ditch the jacket,
Just get it one size smaller so it doesn't turn the entire outfit into a square,
By leaving some room for the skirt,

pencil skirts are so uncomfortable too like its not worth it 😭🤧
And they forget hip dips exist
what if you need to run and you're wearing a pencil skirt 😭
@@brunamota8865 You let it rip? Idk 😂
I’ve got an autoimmune disease too. Hashimotos Thyroiditis. Basically my body is trying to destroy my thyroid. Fortunately my medication has worked very well for me.
There have certainly been episodes where you can tell the client is not happy at all, But the majority have a positive outcome.
sitting here in my fursuit and lolita filled room like 👉👈
Nothing wrong with either hobby! Even if they both get shit on by the mainstream media! Wear ur fursuit with pride!
Honestly be proud of your fursuits! Furries are always being hated and wear them with the pride you have! :D and also I thinkt hey are pretty cool tho :0
Uw U dont worry im not ashamed!! i made my whole suit so i appreciate all the work i did to have it XD
@@WhattheBeck aye!! That's the spirit! :D and also omg 🥺 that takes a while I feel you I'm part weeb artist who also takes a long time in their art but I hope you can finish it! :D and also have a great day you amazing random person!
I’m not a furry but a pastel fursuit sounds sick ❤️
"It's your kawaii Dad!"
*squints*
Is that a reference to Karolina Żebrowska?
I appreciate the tone of 100% Hotter, I like that it really meets the makeover subjects where they are, but sometimes when they are trying to marry alternative and more casual fashion I think they miss the mark (like they'll add one vaguely alternative thing to a normal outfit). It worked really well in this episode, though. It helps that the people seem to actually want to change how they dress.
2:25 Calling her a catastrophe, yet look who is sitting in front of the fur-suit.
Am in shock why the lampshade thingy tho- they couldn't come up with a better one?
NOT, Crap on their style, and pulled a
"I made your art better"with their style preference.
It's all about what they like not what you like.
This show was 10x better than what not to wear.
The way she wrote down the notes for the eyebrows is HILARIOUS!
I think they could have kept more of the pastel colors and just paired them with more mature looks. She looks great tho!
I only wear them when I am doing a 1940s look.
I'm so depressed rn I'm so glad you posted
They need to ask other alternative people when they rate an alternative fashion! Most everyday people don't understand the artistry behind it so of course everyone of those people would rate it low :/
Her outfit is incredible! the colors and coordination are incredible, the only issue I have is the lipstick should be warmer. Not to mention all of those clothes can come in pastels and you can still be taken seriously.
Man on the streets always involve selecting the most interesting responses. On reality tv or talk shows, it often goes to selecting the ones that are funniest or lean into their narrative.
Love how that makeup artist knew that Word “Harajuku Fashion” 💖
13:38 "The pencil skirt! This is very flattering to the female figure" On SOME female figures? You put one on me and it's like a roll of toiler paper with fabric on it. I've got no shape. I hate them with a fiery passion.
Really just clicked on a whim, but now I'm subscribing. After you pointed out that trendy and stylish are different things. And because the whole video is great.
Is it becoz I’m kinda into Lolita but I dun understand how people can be so negative about Lolita even if they dun like alternative fashion
I dun dress in alternative fashion but I appreciate the effort people put in
I would never rate them 2/10
At least 6/10 even if I dun like it
Dun? Is it that hard to spell don’t? Same with “becoz”? I mean I get it if you’re not a native English speaker but if you are that’s kind of disappointing.
Maybe it's just a stylistic choice
@@Bunny-np9su yeah
Rude. Appears someone has nothing better to do than fuss at someone's stylistic spelling choices. Nothing positive to say about the message of acceptance which was the actual content? Move along and don't say anything.
@Bee what's that?
I actually really enjoy this show. I also kind of enjoy when somebody goes on it, tries and genuinely enjoys a “different take” on how they could look, but still opts for something personally more comfortable/right for them.
Boyfriend: look more normal, too pastel, dress meow serious
Also boyfriend: has a fur suit and is probably a furry
The thumbnail got my attention, I liked and subscribed as soon as you said "fit and flare is right there."
I really liked the sheer top that they showed her. It would of been so cut in a pastel color.
Red on her “pale skin” would look GREAT actually. Obviously the hair showed that.
her hair isnt red though and she said she didnt like the red quite a few times
Madi K I don’t like the hair
Idk about red clothes, but ginger suited her so well
@@PlaystationSimmer idk I feel like this is a preference thing. I like bright red on anybody personally, especially if it really pops, but it might be too much for some people’s preferences. However, she didn’t like it
God,,, I would love to have a show where they bring in people who are just starting out in specific alternate fashions, and instead of toning it down for them they give them a boost in that fashion and help them create their first full outfit. that'd be hella.
That was a fun makeunder, and your commentary is always entertaining. Your channel is fun, your style is adorable, your eyes are so pretty. You come across so genuine and natural. I hope your channel all the success you want from it, keep it up, I’ll keep watching, probably usually without commenting because I don’t comment that often for all the UA-cam I spend watching.
As someone who has chronic pain, jeans are a nightmare. Just going to the store wearing them is very painful. I feel so bad for her and hope she didn’t try to force herself to wear them.
"Watch some good TV"
She says as she found the only decent makeover show out of dozens.
Okay, her after the show look was STUNNING. I love that she stuck with the hair color and her makeup was perfect and her toned down but still cutesy Lolita inspired style was everything! That’s the kind of glow up I love to see from these shows.
I love this channel, even if I don't really wear any kind of alternative fashion
“Being trendy is not the same as being stylish.”
Well put.
Kawaii dad: Are ya coordin’ son?
Me: bruh I don’t even own bodyline😂
That oversized jacket is amazing, I need one myself now!
Idk if this is enough content wise, but do you think you could do a video on living doll vs Lolita vs other aesthetics that get lumped in?
I’ve actually been thinking about discussing lolita vs living doll and the beef the lolita fashion community has developed with living dolls lol
...maybe I should get around to writing that script 🤔
@@TheStitchess I also would totally watch it, that's an interesting subject!
@@TheStitchess that would be so cool! I'd definitely be here for it (but i'm here for all your vids so maybe not the best metric?)
Bless them for letting her opt out of that horrible red, they saved themselves there
Also I just found your channel and uh oh I’m falling in luv with u m8?? Instant subscribe ;w;
There’s 3 seasons now?? When I watched it there was only 1 and everyone on reddit absolutely hated the hosts
I watched this show when it came out, and I really appreciated their positive attitude towards alternative fashion and giving people confidence. It was more about educating people about style rather than putting them down.
Regardless the show - gurl you look like sort of a modern hipster version of sailor moon and i LOVE IT!
Omg! You’re entire aesthetic in this video is absolutely perfect!! The ponytail is so cute!
Im waiting for a show that is this but in reverse. We take someone with a boring style and help them find which alternative fashion they will like.
Her hair looks really cute! I actually also really liked the eye makeup they did on her.
