Good for you for persevering in that wind! I do worry about filming with one hand while stabilizing your heavily laden bike in that traffic. Please don't take any risks with that!
If you had your own biking travel show I would def watch! You’re so naturally engaging and pleasure to watch! I hope to do my own Canadian bike tour on my 40th birthday! 🎉❤
That's funny. Thank you. In a way, this channel is my own biking travel show. Thanks for watching and I hope you get to do the cross Canada ride for your milestone birthday.
That's some crazy weather to have to deal with. I'm sure its a roller coaster of emotions with the rain, wind and hills but then you see the amazing scenery. Enjoying the videos of this epic journey, maybe one day! Bob...
This was certainly an introduction to what was to come. The scenery in BC and Alberta was spectacular. Is you have a chance, do the ride across. It's a big challenge, but so rewarding. Thanks for watching.
good going and persevering through all these challenges. there is a saying, which i will botch, that goes something like, "it's an adventure when you recall and retell it; during the experience of it, usually not so much," lol. looking forward to more of your trip, esp. that you are getting into some beautiful areas.
You are quite an inspiration! I love watching your videos and listening to your positive attitude even when the going gets tough! And your admiration of the beauty around you is wonderful : ) Hang in there, keep pedaling, and be safe!
Thank you! In the next episode, I'll show the tough reality of climbing a mountain when unprepared physically. It won't all be positive, but it'll all be real.
Really enjoyed this episode and can't wait for the next one. You really had rough weather in that area. Hope brought back memories, but I got there via a different route. Never went through Vancouver at all as my ferry went to Tswassen. Happy trails. I know you're already in the prairies. Hope you'll have better weather for the rest of the ride 😉
All those difficult days have taught me worthwhile lessons. And I've had many difficult days on this tour, maybe not full days, but definitely difficult times.
Looks like you had some challenging weather that day! Good to see that you got through it safe. I went on my first bike overnight bike trip the past two days! The weather, some rain and wind, made it a bit challenging, but overall we had a great time!
@@WheelsonaBike Thanks! Yes we did learn a lot and now know what we can imporve upon next time! I think there will be another bike trip in the near future for us!
Looks like you've had a rough start to your journey. Those were some pretty strong winds and rain you had to contend with. Hang in there. It will get better. You've had a good start on the best part of any journey....the people you meet along the way. That will continue. Your personality and approachable nature will draw the best out of the many people who will cross your path and make this your journey of a lifetime.
Thank you. Yes, the weather was rough, but it can always be worse. The videos are a bit behind and I've been meeting lots of amazing, kind people along the way.
Wow! What a day! But it is also amazing to see how brave you are on this weather conditions. I liked your good sense of humor at the end with the goose! As I said, English is not my mother tongue but your English sounds very clear to me. Keep riding!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey Agnieszka with all of its ups and the downs. What you are doing is pretty incredible. Learning to push through adversity is a pretty big thing and you are doing this on a daily basis. Agnieszka you are doing great! Go at your own pace and enjoy the ride!
I'm bad with directions, I could probably get lost in my backyard. Glad to see another video, you are doing very well. can't wait for the next episode.
Maybe you covered it and i missed it, but I'd love a video about your "dashboard", your handlebar set-up with map case, phone holder, how you record video while riding, etc Also, how did you arrange your gear on your racks and did you change anything after the first few days of riding
Kudos to you. The storm you experienced was without a doubt nasty. I arrived in Hope at 6:00pm on May 19th. I came along the same route you followed. The amount of debris on the road shoulders was, Mmmmmm..., very noticable, tree limbs, branches, stuff, washouts and gravel piles not to mention puddles that in some places extended well into the travelled portions of the road. Ahh, that rest area has in floor heating, nice on the cold, wet feet. Hahahaha, your tent campsite experience, I totally understand.....Glad you got to Hope OK.
That's interesting. I didn't notice any debris on the road as I was riding, but then again, the wind just kept on picking up as I made my way towards Hope. Glad you made it through there OK. Did you also ride Hwy 3 through the mountains to Princeton?
@@WheelsonaBike Hahahaha, yes they are. That is why I live here. Keeping track of you on Instagram and looking forward seeing more of you adventure. I might do a ride from Fernie to my home and I am sure I will learn a thing or two from your travels.
I am so sorry that your tent fly is leaking! I have the same tent and had the same issue. MSR replaced the fly for free due to an acknowledged issue with their sealing. Of course, this doesn't help you while you are on tour. Safe travels in such rough weather.
Hey Caleb! I ended up replacing the tent for a different one as I also had terrible condensation issues with it. MSR wanted me to send the fly in for evaluation but wouldn't send a temporary replacement. This wouldn't have worked for me, as I'm in a middle of a trip and definitely need a tent fly. So I went back to MEC, problem solved.
I glad you have some weight on your bike..a lady i know was training for a race on highway a semi truck came and the force of the wind as it drove by it blew her and her bike over the bridge she broke her neck.. survived and not paralyzed but its crazy the force they create
Yes, passing trucks created a TON of wind and I often swerved as a result. I'm sorry to hear about the woman whose story you mention. That's a terrible situation.
@NameFree24 Ride across Canada? I would if I could take the time. But I continue touring. Rode across the State of New York this summer. Will be going international this spring. So yes, I continue touring. Leaving in fear never helped anyone.
I do. But I find the wind noise caused by the ear buds more annoying than the wind itself. Just went through the Prairies and tried listening to music and podcasts with earbuds in and ended up just blasting everything on speaker as the noise in my ear was too much.
Oh Agnieszka, youa re my hero! Yes, remember that saying on the statue as you forge on undaunted! You have an excellent way of evaluating situations and reframing them realistically!! I am loving how you are drawing on the amazing beauty to bouy you up as you go. I am recovering from a bike crash and can't ride for another 3weeks so these videos are a lifeline! (What make is you leaky tent? They should provide a replacement! Thank you for the continued inspiration! [HONK! HONK! translation: "Subscribed and Like"]
Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment. I am so glad to know you're enjoying the videos and I wish you a continued speedy recovery! The tent was the MSR Hubba Hubba NX. They wouldn't replace it without having me send the fly for evaluation - without sending me a replacement fly, this wouldn't have worked as I'm in the middle of a tour. I ended up returning it at MEC. MSR was not very good to work with on this, they pretty much blamed me for everything wrong with the tent. There were other issues with it that came up later on.
Can I be little honest with you?;) After watching this travel series und photos of yours.. i would not recommend Canada for bicycle rides as it looks cold, rainy and above all poor infrastructure for bicycle. The right word is, third world for bicycling;) greetings from Germany 🇩🇪:) but please note.. I love your videos and enthusiasm for biking 🤟🏼 keep it up! Hope one day you ride out of Canada to see what I mean…
I think every country has something different to offer in terms of cycling. If we only cycled in the countries that have good infrastructure, we wouldn't see a whole lot.
Infraestructure in third world countries is almost zero. I live in one of those. As to the weather, yes! It is much nicer but still there are things to fear in these countries. There are no perfect places for example to go bike riding in the world!
I remember your first videos, you would walk the bike up the hills. Now you ride up like a champ. You grow stronger every day and it shows!
Yes! It was amazing how much stronger I got, but there's a good amount of bike pushing in the next episode. Real mountains are coming!
You are truly an inspiration, I really admire your strength and courage 👍🚴
Oh my goodness. Thank you. That's a really kind note.
Good for you for persevering in that wind! I do worry about filming with one hand while stabilizing your heavily laden bike in that traffic. Please don't take any risks with that!
I don't take any unnecessary risks, but thanks for pointing it out.
Well done!! Such great commentary in difficult weather.

You really perked up when you were biking to and arriving at Hope 😆👍.
Oh definitely. That place is SO BEYOND BEAUTIFUL! Even in wild weather.
Wow! The wind.
Hope to see you on the road!
That'd be nice.
I'm surprised you got as far as you did given the rough weather and that you didn't see any snow in Hope. Good luck and good weather going forward.
It wasn't cold enough in Hope for snow. There was snow while passing the Allison Pass and then again on the Icefields Parkway. Lots of snow.

That weather is bonkers!
Yes! I had a lovely repeat of it, with hail and lightening, in the Prairies recently. It's scary when the weather turns nasty.
Yeah, I think I’d have stayed in my tent or got a hotel than cycle in that. Kudos to you on getting out in it.

Is the traffic unnerving for you? Seems it would be stressful. Beautiful views.
No, I'm used to it. It wasn't stressful. It does worry me in bad weather, but I tend not to focus on what ifs.
