First, I, personally would advise from getting a nursing job based on salary alone. There are too many disadvantages to salary nursing jobs. One disadvantage to a salary nursing job is being stuck at work because of emergencies and call offs, etc. It's not worth it if you are looking at the big picture...

I can't make less than 30 an hour, though. I would be very disappointed if I didnt bring in a six figure income as a travel nurse. Also because I'm a man, they probably will be expecting more from me just because I'm a man. I don't mind though. I'm coming from a job making 10 bucks an hour, so this will be a real step up for me.

It's called being exempt. Exempt workers are either professional, executive, supervisory or outside sales. Advantage is a higher salary, disadvantage is you don't get paid over time & other things. It's pretty much in every area in the industry. My husband is a media specialist & work hours over his 9-5 day every day & doesn't get paid for the overtime.

What if you don't have any experience?
