Do you think this could work as an instant replay machine for sports? Obviously no Tbar, but could your finger be precise enough to roll thru the playback smoothly?
It could work indeed. It does take a short moment to switch modes though the replay wouldn’t be instant. You also stop recording when you playback so you’ll have to remember to hit record again.
nice device! Though I dont see the prompter of any use for my clients as long its not possible to edit the text from the GUI on the fly (did I oversee that?) Always we have to edit the text file with our customers, replace words, cut parts etc. .... Prefer software teleprompting as long as it cant be edited fast.
I've bought one of these but I'm minded to send back. 1.Thee UI -- the menu is TINY and makes it really hard to make changes quickly. I don't really understand why it's so small. 2. inability to playback mixed media. While you can put different types of media on the card, I can't see an easy way to playback. If I've understood it correctly, you need to change the video *record* format and in doing so, playback is mirrored. ie. you want to play a prores video, change the record to prores. This seems daft. If I've got that all wrong, PLEASE PLEASE correct me. 3. Autostart. I couldn't get it to play a video on switch to that source on my ATEM Mini Extreme. EDIT: found the Auto Roll option I've given it hours today but little joy.

I spoke to BMD who confirmed that you can put multiple media formats on the card/drive BUT you can't play back multiple formats without changing the settings on the Shuttle ie. pro-res setting to play pro-res, then change to .264 for that. The technical suggestion was to use davinci to reformat all video so that you only ever use one format. Oh, FYI, they will not offer support unless you use one of their approved UHS-II cards or drives.

I'm interested in getting one of these and use it for sport instant replays. I'm curious if my workflow 'plans would work. Ideally I'd have my 'hero shot' doubling up for my replay. I was either thinking of putting a splitter just before hitting my atem extreme, then giving my hero shot an input, then the other split feed into the hyperdeck shuttle, then output the shuttle into another input ..... OR .. take my hero cam directly into the hyperdeck then into the atem, but I feel I lose 'hero cam' usage while playing clips. I've also considered looking into a smaller video router to handle a lot of my video routing, but I'm also trying to keep the profile of my mobile system minimal.

While it's obviously multifunctional, it sounds like it's best used in one specific role per set up - as either a prompter, or a recorder, or as a player, but not all three in one program. It's a lot cheaper as a prompter/controller than WinPlus IPS, despite the networking/editing limitations.

Using Zoom conference/live stream mit Atem Mini Pro. I use an extra HDMI out Monitor for control panel. Now - the Atem mini pro has only 1 USB-C Out. I need it for the Zoom Conference. a Backup Recording is only possible with the live stream. Producing a Video, i must disconnect the usb-c to bring a external disk to the usb c. (Upgrading to ATEM Mini Extreme with 2 USB-C is to expensive) Is it correct??? using the hyperdeck shuttle, i can make both? The Record Stream Out on the ATEM Mini Pro is not the USB-C, it is the HDMI OUT? With a HDMI Splitter, i have voll access on my controll monitor and can record the Show with the Hyperdeck on my external disk? additionally I connect the Hyperdeck on my ATEM Mini Pro HDMI 4 IN to Play clips in my show, with are instantly recorded. No Loops etc. right? Sorry, I am asking like an idiot, I understand all your explanations on the video, if it the hyperdeck is used alone. But to integrate new hardware into a system, you often "open the gates to hell" 🙂
hello I have a Hyperdeck Studio hd pro and I can't playback the videos that I edit in davinci resolve studio 18.6 in Dnxhr and I've also tested it with vocoder and primier pro cc 2023 Doesn't playback but records perfectly what should I do I've already tested prores lt 4.2.2 too thanks
just testing one...we have had trouble playing back video files that we have loaded on our SD card from our desktop...Blackmagic says "make sure codec is set in record to what codec you are playing back."....we have done that but so far we have had no luck with H264 and pro res. anyone else have this problem? are we missing something stupid?
Hi John, I am interested in a connection of the hypderdeck shuttle and the CloudPod. It would be interesting to watch clips from the CloudPod via the atem without starting resolve and close the gap between live and post production a bit. Have tried this via usb-c or ftp? I own both devices and you mentioned this workaround in above video.
I wouldn’t recommend it. It doesn’t allow for quick switching to playback mode which will really slow you down. Of course it would technically work but isn’t made for that purpose
This may seem a little too over simplistic but I can’t find any information. Can I play back my recordings that reside on the atem extreme iso, by pressing play on the hyper deck ?
Hi John. Great video. Have you done much experimentation with H.264 playback? Previous versions of these devices used to be very fussy about the H.264 format. With this platform and the latest firmware, it is more likely they'll play back any H.264 file?
Could you also play overlay videos with the hyperdeck? This would be another great use. Also: I never really got the value of a hyperdeck when you have an ATEM Pro. How would you use it?

Not having any luck making a video file to play on the shuttle hd. Using windows and adobe premier pro. Can anyone pls tell me what the export file settings should be? It seems to be quite specific as I have tried several with no luck other than to play the video and record it on the stream deck hd.

A hyperdeck can be setup to auto-play a clip when it is switched to using an ATEM switcher, but is there a way to make the switcher cut back or to another camera when the clip is done playing automatically?
Oh yes great video.I am having a problem connecting the Hyperdeck Shuttle to my Atem Extreme. It says "Failed Connection" The Atem IP is DHCR and the IP for the Hyperdeck is Static. Would that make a difference or it is something else. Please Help !

With this we could record the interview and easily play the particular segment we want to highlight! or is there an easy way to do it?

Thanks for making this video! Is the shuttle hd friendlier with video codecs? I know on the other ones it’s very picky about every file on the card needing to be the same format/framerate/codec or it might not play at all. Wondering if they’ve made any changes there.

This could work for that. There is a delay when switching from Record mode to playback so it wouldn’t be seamless replay.

A simple HDMI splitter would work just fine in that instance!

The teleprompter is built into the device so no network connection is required for that workflow

No support for the Cloud Pod as far as I know. Only works with the Cloud Store devices.

Yes it should work as expected - it's possible that it changed a little and the Companion folks have not added it yet, but I doubt that very much

The delay should be very minimal (like a frame or two).

Perhaps set them both to DHCP and try again.

It won't be instant but you could make it work. You'll have to do some scrolling or rely on an external app to jump to an exact location

Yeah the SSD works just the same as the SD card method shown in this video!
