I love these cars in black (I had a one owner 1963 back in 1973), however at night White rules! So, when I bought my convertible in 2009 (I have a white sedan with 37K miles as well), I bought a white one with the stunning blue interior. It still had the original paint but while I like original, it was just a little on the wrong side of the line in the sand to live with - so I repainted it (outside only - to preserve the original in the trunk and doors, etc). My car is a real rust free car, has all SS exhaust system, perfect operating top, windows, and window drop. Original radio works great, seat works, etc. Only issue is the vacuum, which for me is not an issue. I had the interior redone, and I was very picky, with the seat pleats being the original width and not too puffy. My guy that did it is fantastic! used original metallic blue material. I did, however, install the carpet with the silver thread that Pontiac used - period correct. I did the door panels and wood, using my low mileage original with blue interior to match the wood grain/color. New black top as well. The wheel covers are 15" from a 1956-57 Lincoln, but I custom made a "snap ring" out of another set of donor 1962-63 wheel covers, so that I could install them on my original 14" wheels. I have done some top mechanism repairs including the rear door drops, and have my emergency hood opening procedure - all of which I have posted in the past on the LCOC forum. I also have my Crystal Clear parking lights and backup lights installed (my design and fabrication), which look very cool and I have the parking lights stary on with the headlights. For show, I designed a vintage looking rear seat console with phone (no bolts, removeable), and high beam alternating red lights (also removeable and no wiring cutting). And I installed a Cadillac 4 note horn system (again, no wire cutting and removeable). I also have a headliner light installed, using a 1959ish metal bezel one with a light switch, and removable blue foam with night time light up stickers, for heat insulation in the summer. My car came from California, so it has the tonue cover snaps, which I kept but replaced with new ones. My neighbor took this video (you can see how cool it looks at night). I wish I had known that he was going to take such a great video, because I would have had the parking lights on and my mid century modernish garage door closed.
    Enjoy

@@lincolnaddict Snaps are not factory, nor was the Tonneau cover itself. They would have been installed at the dealer or at an upholstery shop. Mainly popular in the 1950s and 1960s with British sports cars and some 2 seat Tbirds, and in California. My 1961 could be the only one remaining that had a Tonneau Cover. Unfortunately I don't have it and only have the snaps. Usually, there was a zipper in the front center over the front seat, so that the area for the driver was not covered when driving. Purpose? To keep the hot sun off of the interior and protect the interior form a light rain - while keeping the top down look. That is my guess. I have thought about having one made and use the existing snap locations, which are on the top of the doors and on the front of the instrument panel. Tonneau Covers are still being made for cars like the MG. BTW, my 61 is an early model - having the original style steering wheel which is lower, and the original style door handles without attachment screws. Fun facts.

The seats are vinyl, but beautifully done by a master upholsterer. Nice 63.

An incorrectly reupholstered interior is going to negatively affect the value.

Thanks for the support! Yes, the owner confirmed vinyl as well on the listing.

It can go either way. It might appeal more to someone who isn't concerned about it being factory. A '61 sedan just sold for $66k (with fee) yesterday and it was not factory accurate... that is a strong price for a sedan and more than likely would not have hit that if it was completely stock unless it was a SUPER nice car. I don't disagree that a customer interior is going to turn off a LOT of potential buyers!

My friends '63 convertible is 03L, my '63 convertible is 05L and here we have 06L. Another friends '63 sedan is a 06B (6 Feb) date and has the data tag on the drivers side door.

Unfortunately this car has cheap undersized 14-inch radial tires. Authentic bias-ply 9.5 x 14-inch tires from Coker tires are available. Sure, a full set of 5 of those tires are expensive but well worth it in how they compliment the design of the entire car. An empty Continental Convertible is at least 5,300 lbs plus the weight of passengers. The load rating of a 205-75 R14 tire is too low for this car. I knew someone 25 years ago who installed 15-inch wheels on their 1963 Lincoln...but that is really unnecessary. As far as paint colors, an unusual but still factory color is more interesting to me than the common black or white.

Although I don't generally touch on the tire aspect of these cars.. the whole bias-ply vs. radial will continue to be debated. I've driven with bias-ply tires and although they were not new I did not like the ride. Again, I know it is preference and much to do with the "look" but they are def not for me. I'll stick with radials myself. TY for the support and comment. I agree with the non black Lincolns lol.

Whether the larger 14-inch tire is a radial or bias-ply, each tire still has a load rating of 1,900-2,000 pounds... and Coker Tires will charge you approximately the same price. However, installing cheap $90 undersized radials with only a 1,500 lbs load rating is downright dangerous when these Continentals are all over 5,000 lbs when empty.@@lincolnaddict
