Lots of great info here. I really enjoyed the time spent with Tim. That 64 sled has no idea how lucky it is to be owned and cared for by him! I love my 65 snd have no rrgrets purchasing it - quirky as it is . What pisses me off is the price gouging thats rampant among sellers of used parts. Its insane!

BaT is sucking at notifications that cars I want to watch have been posted. I get texts about the end of auctions, but only email about the beginning of the posting. This was 5 days old before I saw it... And there wasn't much interest even though I'd been on BaT several times.. they have no "contact us" info on the site either

Stupid that eBay lost their role in being the place to sell cars. BAT is the best right now, while eBay turned into a place of PayPal scammers.

I'd say it depends on condition mileage and options a Lincoln Continental Convertible from that model year can go for as much as 150,000 in the collectors market

I bought this one and just randomly came upon the Auction Review video after seeing you did one for a more recent auction. I am loving it SO far! Had to do some coolant work as it overheated coming off the delivery truck, and one of the limit switches for the roof needs adjusting post shipping, but in general it is awesome! A true running time capsule.

Like so many other low volume "project" cars from this era, it's not so much cost or finding a shop to fix, it's two big things. Time and parts. They didn't make a lot of these to start with. Time, either you as the person doing the work can only devote so much time out of your life to something like this, or the existing shops are pretty much tapped out for years to come. The other thing is spares are nearly non-existent and there isn't a big enough demand for an aftermarket. A really skilled UA-cam guy and team with deep pockets (Jay Leno) and access to a good junkyard might be able to save it, but your average work-a-day guy will buy it and see it sit and collect dust and dashed dreams.

So clean under the hood!!

The paint is from 2015. The engine was rebuilt. Transmission rebuilt. The interior is original. The top has also been replaced.Carpet is new. AC works. I know this car. I worked on it. It's a show car. It's in fantastic shape. It's got 100K plus miles on it. The Perfect Circle Cruise Control does not work.

Walking out and looking at the front of my 66, I see a wider gap between the grill and bumper, and its parallel horizontal lines, not coming up in the middle. I think you’re correct in your observation.

I just got my hands on a Russet 66 Vert with the Emberglow Leather interior that was sitting for the last 32 years.. After a quick paint & interior refresh should be In my garage by summers end. Love this color.

Well done ODB! As the previous owner I can confirm some of the items in the podcast. Wheels are Boyd Coddington smoothies, tires (all 5) are Diamondback whitewalls. Center console and door pods are Chino & Sons. Sound system has two 6 1/2 JBL speakers in the front, two JBL 6 1/2 speakers in vinyl wrapped package tray and a single Skar sub in the trunk. Two amps DS18 running doors and a mono lock amp running the sub. LED headlights are Octane Lighting w/halos (white). Car has electric fuel pump also, never an issue with starting up and cruising. Carpet (in trunk and car) all new and front bench was done with me foam. Seller is a GREAT AND HONEST guy! It’s too bad he has to sell.

1966 seems early for nylon cam gears but maybe FoMoCo was at the forefront of this crappy innovation. My 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra's 428CJ FE had a failing plastic cam gear when it was just 13 years old (1982). My 1969 Marauder's N-code 429 (385 series) was plastic. So was the 440 on my 1973 Imperial LeBaron. I don't work on GM products, so I'm unsure of their application.

that gen of the Continental was made for 9 years 1961-1969 and used as a presidential state car for 3 presidents Kennedy Johnson and Nixon though Johnson and Nixon used it as a fixed head coupe rather than a convertible and Johnson had it re upholstered in a different color when it was Kennedys it was midnight blue/with midnight blue interior Johnson had it painted black and the interior was either black or dark brown most other presidents used a Cadillac as a state car I.E. Clinton Used a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood George W Bush used a 2001 Deville and an 05 DTS-L or Escalade granted mind you the gross weight of an Escalade is 7,000 before its bulletproofed and 7 in shorter than a Cadillac STS

For all my carbureted cars, I use non-ethanol gas and that eliminates any vapor lock problem. It’s just hard to find the right gas.
