Same here I’m thirteen just started high school and everyone looks at me like I’m some kind of demon because I train on a treadmill and I do running laps during pe
Falling in love with being active is simply not something a lot of people understand in our culture. Sometimes when people get older this changes, and they are full of regret for not doing it sooner. You have a head start! Never regret the passions and hobbies you have as long as they bring you joy and are responsible. It’s the people who don’t have such passions that are the weirdest and/or saddest ones of all.
Trust me you’re so so so lucky! When I was your age. I was unstoppable. I would train for 5 hours and still wake up fresh as a flower 😀 But by 15 I was so chronically sick that it went on for 9 years. And I missed my whole youth. I feel so so so bad everyday. I want to turn time back to go back and relive my energy days. Not to say I am too old now. But the strength the youth has. It never comes back again 😊😊
Keep doing it youngblood, everyone will question you doing something they’re not doing it. Don’t take it personal, just tell em it makes you better and feel better about yourself being active. That’s all it is bro. I remember being your age and kids wanna start vaping n all that. Better young while you can bro. Keep doing what you doing.
Do not listen to them!!! I’m 34 and everyone around me is overweight or in poor health but that’s NOT how they all started! Not tryin to put them down but where you’re at is where a lot of ppl wanna be. Keep running!!!
Thank you so much for the advice! My dream is to be like my idle Sha’Carri Richardson! She is my favorite track and field runner. I am working on it but thanks sir❤
@@energy_outlaw6679 my next few runs after that was 5km though but unfortunately I wasn't able to run everyday because I'm sore asf that I have to rest for 3-4 days to completely recover. I just got back to it again the other day after quitting for about a month, I was surprised that I still got the 5km and didn't regress. I'll attempt 6km next time.
I've spent most of my athlete career jumping, so I have this habit to use my muscles to go up instead of forward. I took a video of me running the other day and noticed how I'm leaping and my head bouncing a lot. Any advice I can get from you😭😭😭
Dont make it easy pace but lazy pace trust there is reason behind it . So make it three level hard ,comfortable ,lazy . Spent 70 % time as lazy runner 20% as relaxed runner 10% as hard . This will also apply for sprinting . The idea is brong the body to a flow state ,body knows its easy and enjoyable . Tjen push it slowly to bit hard .
No, run for 10 minutes dont focus on miles or km, just run for time do this 4 times a day, week 2 run for 20 minutes, week 3 run 30 minutes, week 4 run 40 minutes, then on week 5 focus on miles and try to run at a faster pace and focus on miles km.
Yea but this is by far the best one. In all the other ones he starts by telling us to run for long periods of time for many days back to back. That isnt good for beginners . This one is actually good advice
Sure, as long as it’s not pushing yourself everyday. I run everyday, but mostly only to the callisthenics park, about 1 km to and fro. Very easy pace, just to get the blood flowing. It helps with recovery from my longer 5-15 km runs too!
Change shoes, lose weight, build up slowly, stretch. I had shin splints for ages , hated them . Changing footwear helped. Also if you’re heal striking too hard your shin counter acts this and takes all the strain, mid foot striking alleviates some of the stress on the tendons
@@TylerWilson-gd3gw Understood 🫡 I'll try that. From a train station to another train station and it's registered to be 1.7KM, but never noticed the time it takes. I'll start doing it with 4 minutes as the goal.
Check your form. Jog on your front of the foot not flat foot or heel. If you're still in pain maybe go see a physiotherapist you might have an underlying issue or injury you don't know about
I mean. Currently im too fat for running period. Kinda. But. Cycling. If you only ride bicycles your butt may get too sore for it. Then you can run. Then your feet hurt n you can cycle. Both hurts? Swim or a sitdown exercise gym bicycle. Lungs n heart get training either way
Stand in front of a wall, facing the opposite direction. Back against the wall, feet about 2 foot away. Lift your toes up and down like 20 times, you should feel your shin burning. Helps a lot
“this is your journey” is the best piece of advice there, brother 🎉🎉🎉
True and don’t ridicule others for trying.
This is some great info bro
I started a while ago, and even though I did not watch this video then, everything in here is definitely stuff I wish I knew then!
doing jump rope really helps make your feet bouncy, helps trains the calf
Absolutely 100%
I totally agree!

Yes the barefoot tip! So important. I recommend the channel “Join The Movement Movement” for more barefoot tips
Super helpful. Love the landscape. Thanks!!😊

Got in tips to make the shins stronger so I won’t get shin splits while running
I don’t know about the running part of your content but I totally can relate to the food part you usually show in your vids
Most encouraging video ❤
Good advice!
Dunno where tf I'm gonna barefoot run but ok
on grass probably
Grass or if there’s an artificial turf football field at a local public school.
On asphalt cuz you ain't no bitch
Instead of thinking about how you can’t do something, think about how you can.
Home... Round and round in the hall
Stretching will be important as well
I went all in thinking of David Goggins 💀
Are you still going strong?
@Hagajsbwinsana too much homework and extra classes are cutting my time, but I'm trying man.
Nice. But il get a shirt, cause my moobs be flopping.

Bro I don’t have that much time! I need to improve by June 19 for my school sprint! 😭😭✋
Nice sir
Barefoot training is a MUST 💪💪
No. Never once did this and I’ve come pretty far.
It'll be Especially useful when I wanna grab the mail barefoot and the concrete is hot in the driveway.
This is great
HELLO MATTHEW JAMES CHOI! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DISTANCE TO RUN A RACE?
5k
Currently 1.6km, But working on 10km. I can run 8km on my race day pace, so only two left😀

Any suggestions on running shoes? I have those Polynesian flat feet 😅
I walk 30 minutes at least once a day bc I have too😭😭
My first ever run was just 3.5km (7km in total) and my legs are sore for 3 days. Barely able to go down the stairs
Try to slow down or run a shorter distance. Get your legs used to being active so start with powerwalking for an hour and then gradually begin running

Thanks!! ❤
How can I join a track team or something I’m 23 years old I live in Los Angeles CA
Can you give for poepel who do cross contry
It's the same thing.
I'd say mix running, cycling, other. Cycling? Sore cheeks. Running? Sore feet. Better mix it up.
And remove clothes to assert dominance
😂
imagine running barefoot and stepping on glass 💀💀 i always use shoes
Day 2 of tunnibg
Dude has 30 different "beginner" vids and they all recommend different shit...
Yea but this is by far the best one. In all the other ones he starts by telling us to run for long periods of time for many days back to back.
That isnt good for beginners . This one is actually good advice
Is it ok to run everyday? Someone told me that it can injure you… I wanna know before I start:)
There is a high chance that it will lead to burnout and injuries, according to many sources
Sure, as long as it’s not pushing yourself everyday. I run everyday, but mostly only to the callisthenics park, about 1 km to and fro. Very easy pace, just to get the blood flowing. It helps with recovery from my longer 5-15 km runs too!
@@Stirnstbro what does pace means?
No way ur not incorporating some strength training with that physique
How do I prevent shin splints?
Change shoes, lose weight, build up slowly, stretch. I had shin splints for ages , hated them . Changing footwear helped. Also if you’re heal striking too hard your shin counter acts this and takes all the strain, mid foot striking alleviates some of the stress on the tendons
Wear proper shoes, stretch, don’t run goofy. Shin splints might happen if you are out of shape or increasing intensity too quickly.
Don't run barefoot on asphalt
I can never wear that kinda shorts.. Mooseknuckle
How do you learn a proper stride. When I run I pretty much waddle hunched over. Lol not attractive and uncomfortable
What's the adequate running time for a beginner?
i'd say for like a mile for a beginner would be 8:30 or higher
You should be able to do 1 km in 4mins or less because I can do it at 2:46s and I’m thirteen and I barely train
@@TylerWilson-gd3gw Understood 🫡 I'll try that. From a train station to another train station and it's registered to be 1.7KM, but never noticed the time it takes. I'll start doing it with 4 minutes as the goal.
Going barefoot is worse for your feet
My foot keep hurt when i start jogging i just spend my 90% of my time walking, can anyone give advice for me?
Check your form. Jog on your front of the foot not flat foot or heel. If you're still in pain maybe go see a physiotherapist you might have an underlying issue or injury you don't know about
Like what do other guy said check your form. Make sure you have good running shoes and run on softer surfaces to start. Kinda late mb
I mean. Currently im too fat for running period. Kinda. But. Cycling. If you only ride bicycles your butt may get too sore for it. Then you can run. Then your feet hurt n you can cycle. Both hurts? Swim or a sitdown exercise gym bicycle. Lungs n heart get training either way
What can I do to deal with shin splints?
Stand in front of a wall, facing the opposite direction. Back against the wall, feet about 2 foot away. Lift your toes up and down like 20 times, you should feel your shin burning. Helps a lot
Or just put some shoes on and run 😂
Does anyone know if we need a good meal before running? Example: breakfast before running?
Probably something light like a banana/fruit
