Rún is in Old Norse, but with an Icelandic pronunciation, for example, atlir instead of allir, and ö was used instead of the Old Norse letter ǫ, probably because this letter isn’t on the keyboard and must always be copy / pasted, so they usually just use the Icelandic letter ö instead, but in Old Norse, it’s always ǫ instead of ö, and it’s pronounced like a normal o sound in Old Norse pronunciation - the songs Troll Kalla Mik / Elverhøy / Flúga / Rauðr Loginn Brann / Grótti / Fimbulvetr / Gleipnir / Óðinn / Þat mælti mín móðir / Sækoningar / Ríðum Ríðum / Sólarljóð / Rún / Hinn Mikli Dreki / Villeman Og Magnhild / Då Månen Sken / Norðrljós / Santiano are among the best Skáld songs, and the others are also good, I am learning all the lyrics from Skáld songs!
I highly recommend listening to the songs by Skáld while also reading the lyrics, which are a great introduction to Old Norse and other Nordic / Germanic languages, Nordic / Germanic languages are simply magical - there are lyric videos of all Skáld songs that I know of and multiple playlists on yt with the lyric videos!
Nordic / Germanic languages are so pretty, the prettiest and most refined languages ever with almost only gorgeous and poetic words, so I am learning them all, and I highly recommend learning them, including Old Norse & Dutch and also Norwegian / Gothic / Icelandic / Danish / Faroese / Swedish etc, and also the 6 Celtic languages, namely Welsh / Breton / Cornish / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic, and Hungarian & Slovene, and the Latin languages, namely Gallo / Portuguese / Galician / Latin / Occitan / Spanish / Esperanto / Aranese / French / Italian and the other Italian-based languages and French-based languages - I am upper beginner level in Old Norse and Icelandic, and advanced level in Dutch, and writer level in English, and Intermediate level in Norwegian / German / Swedish, and beginner level in Gothic / Faroese / Danish / Luxembourgish / Norn / Limburgish and the three Frisian languages (West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian) and the other Germanic languages and in the 6 Celtic languages and in most Latin languages, and native speaker level in Spanish, and upper beginner level in Portuguese / French, and I can’t wait to get to a native speaker level in all these pretty languages, they are so pretty!
I have learnt over 1.500 words in Old Norse and Icelandic, and learned most of the lines in the Skáld songs, which are a great introduction to Old Norse - I cannot understand how can an ancient language like Old Norse (and also, Gothic) be so pretty and refined, it looks and sounds so modern, all those pretty words are so áddìctive and bring a lot of joy to the eye and ear, which makes learning these pretty languages real fun!
Greetings from Denmark.... I love Nordic Music and this group is one of my favorites. It takes me back to my roots and ancestors. I love the sound of the drum/drums, horn etc The crows and homage to the Nordic gods. If U like this - U shut listen to: Wardruna from Norway - they have sing a lot of songs to the series: Vikings and Faun (German). But Skald and the album - viking chant - is also great, my favorite on that is: Niu and Valfreyjudräpa. The drums, the deep voices of the men and high voices of the women.... and rhytmen.... love it. The language is: Modern Islandic/Old Norse..... SKÅL.
The language used here is Old Norse, ancestral language to modern scandinavian swedish, norwegian, icelandic and danish. The group is mostly viking/Norse myth inspired in their texts, and they use a lot of ancient instruments. Other similar (mostly) viking inspired groups include the norwegian group Wardruna, and the danish/norwegian/german (three core group members) group Heilung. Heilung sings in icelandic, old norse, proto norse, old high german, old english and for one song -some lines in modern english. I recommend their songs Krigsgaldr and Traust. Rekommenderas mycket starkt! but use their official videos if you are thinking about reacting to them. Their live shows are amazing, but more of an experience -they don't really translate to video (bracing myself for votes down).

Of all of the Scandinavian languages, Icelandic and Faroese are probably the closest modern languages we have to the Old Norse, likely because they are island nations so the language was more well preserved.
Are you familiar with Heilung? If not, I feel you will enjoy their music. It's not unlike this, but at the same time completely unique. If you'd like to be exposed to their earlier music, In Maidjan or Krisgsgaldr would be good to experience. Newer songs I'd recommend would be Anoana and Narupo. Anything they do is absolute amazing gold, however. Some of their lyrics are in English but most are in proto-Germanic.
Go for Wardruna (personal favourite being Lyfjaberg, although the most recommended song usually is Helvegen, which is also great), or Heilung, their live concert called Lifa. Since this song is just basically revolving around runes, so I'd say go for Heilung's In Maidjan, which does the same in a bit different way.
I was really surprised this is a French Nordic folk group. The song is beautiful 🤩.
I'd never heard of them before but I quite enjoyed it! Great reaction, I think i'm going to have to listen to some more.
Cheers :D

Hello! I am American but my father is 80 percent danish! I hope to visit some day! Hail!
Nice reaction! Omg, the singers eyes! Beautiful.

This is actually "ABC" song ... but with runes 😁

You should check our Wardruna aswell, they have a very similar vibe, VERY vikingy
As it wasn't really mentioned yet, this song is just them singing the Elder Futhark, basically ABC's in music form.
Skål from denmark
If you like this, you might check out Heilung.
They just sing the names of the runes in the chorus ;)
I think BEAST IN BLACK - Moonlight Rendezvous would be nice for you, its a complicated genre and the video is quiet weird, give it a try
They are French ^^
Why does a Swede speak better engligh than the brits?
Well then, go have a look at peyton parish Valhalla calling.
