The singer is actually also a pyrotechnic so their shows are really amazing (yes it was real). Best time of my life when I went to see them. 😁
yes and keep in mind, pyrotechnicians have to repeat their tests every 2 years in Germany to remain valid - and those tests are quite expensive (several thousand bucks per test).
I was lucky enough to make it almost to the front during a festival. And yes, their show almost burned my face of and it was awesome!🤘🤪

i'd say KMFDM and Ministry are the Godfathers of Industrial Metal, but Rammstein elevated the concept in a way that has made them almost incalculably influential beyond the genre.

It took them 7 Boeings 747 to bring the show to US this year. It was pure FIRE. Tickets were pretty affordable btw!

For sure. I saw them in Chicago, IL and this still doesn't capture the essence of their live show. It wasn't just hot on stage... You could feel it in the crowd as well.

Yes, that was fireworks blowing up on stage. If you look at their tour tickets, the first 3 rows are called hot seats.
The lightning on the keyboard was a special effect for the DVD, I believe, but all the fire is real.
I definitely recommend seeing Feuer Frei and Sonne live.
It was 1997 when "Du Hast" was released, I was 4 years old and it blew my mind as a kid when I saw the video on MTV. I'll never forget that day and I will always remember when my Mom kept re-recording the video on VHS, so she can show my Dad once he came home from work. It blew his mind as well because we became huge fans ever since that day and Rammstein never disappointed us since. Now, fast forward 25 years later and I finally went to my first Rammstein concert here in NJ at MetLife Stadium. As in my Dad's honor, especially since it has been 10 years since he has have been gone, I made sure to not miss this show at all. I took my 64 year old rockstar Mom along with me because she's a metalhead herself and we couldn't miss this opportunity. Plus, Mom and I just couldn't stop headbanging to every song Rammstein played and we were in section 226, which was an excellent experience and I uploaded some videos myself on UA-cam.
By the way, to all of you on here, Rammstein is one of my all time favorite bands and definitely the greatest band you will ever since live, which is why I recommend you all to one day go to their concert.

I saw Rammstein live twice during their recent North American tour. I also saw them live during their previous North American tour, in 2012 at the Tacoma Dome. I've never seen any other band live but them. Rammstein is truly its own experience, you aren't going to listen to music; you're going to feel it, to get an entire experience, to enter another world. And when you leave you don't forget the heat of the pyrotechnics, you remember how it felt on your skin for days, you remember the booming of Till's vocals, the percussion of the drums, the energy of the crowd engaging with the band. If Rammstein tours near you, GO AND SEE THEM. You will not regret it one bit.
This is probably the only group that watching the Official Music Video and Official Live Video for every song is an absolute must.
Hi from 🇩🇪. I really enjoyed watching you watching an epic Rammstein show for the first time. It's like seeing a child opening a Christmas present. So adorable how excited you were. Yes, all of it was real! Till (the singer) is a pyrotechnician and he's amazing at what he does live on stage.
If you ever see them live in such an environment (which is basically every single one of their concerts) it'll spoil every other live concert for the rest of your life. Rammstein are absolutely unique!
Yes they're still touring. My fiancee and I seen them in San Antonio this year, it was my first time seeing them live, and I was all smiles the entire time. Yes they use that much pyro and you can definitely feel the heat. Definitely see them live if you get the chance.

I've seen dozens of top level bands at festivals and gigs. Rammstein are comfortably the best act I've come across.
Rammstein = fire! Literally! On their live shows, the set EVERYTHING on fire, the stage, themselves, a whole f****g stadium...If you wanna see more fire, I would suggest you have a look at "Engel" (live at MSG), "Mein Teil" (live at Hurricane Festival), "Feuer frei" (live in Moscow) and "Rammstein" (live in St. Petersburg). And please watch them in this order, for the build up ;-)
I saw them for the second time in September, they’re amazing. It gets hot in the crowed too, but it’s absolutely worth it. And yes, the fire goes over the crowd too.

I was at their show in Los Angeles a couple months ago and its all real pyrotechnics and you can feel those flames from the stage from hundreds of feet away. By far the single greatest show on earth
Their shows are insane! And yes: they contain a massive, insane amount of fireworks! Fireworks all over the stage, it looks like they set the stage on fire, fireballs flying through the festival hall, they light each other up: in one show one of the members was sitting in a big cooking pot and the lead Sanger lit him up with a flamethrower - insane, absolutely insane. And: no injuries ever happen to them - fascinating! The Show with Apocalyptica as support was the best show I have ever seen in my entire life! Their shows is not just a show, it ´s an experience you will never forget🎉
I've been lucky enough to be in the Feuer Zone twice, both in Chicago. Best two concerts I've been to in my life, and I'm hoping to catch them again at least one more time!
They do have a TON of fire in their shows, but during the actual performances, they tend to alternate the super heavy pyrotechnic songs with ones that blast out cool air from massive fans, or fog/mist...things like that. Probably to help the band members, but it also helps the audience in the front not pass out from all the damn heat. 😅 They also do slower songs, where a band member literally crowd surfs in an inflatable boat, or transition to a secondary stage by means of lowering a bridge over the crowd and having the drummer walk the rest of band members across on their hands and knees. They may not do that anymore...they're no longer young men with young knees. 🤪
Till also likes to end the concerts now by riding a giant phallus-shaped cannon that 'ejaculates' bubbles over the crowd.
But yeah, it gets hot in the Feuer Zone. I've done multiple eyebrow checks mid-concert.
Everyone should be at a Rammstein concert in Life. It’s an undescribable experience.

My deepest respect to Till and "his guys". What 20 yrs. earlier acted on small, rural-like stages now fills Big Apple's Madison Square Garden one whole week in a row sold out !

I've been lucky enough to see hundreds of concerts. This was the best of them all!
The lead singer is the pyrotechnician that sets up the pyro! Lindemann is also a qualified pyrotechnician. After an accident at the Treptow arena in Berlin on September 27, 1996, where a burning stage prop fell into the audience, Rammstein began employing a professional pyrotechnical crew and Lindemann has learned from and also trained with them.
The pyro is real Til Lindermann (singer) is a lincenced Pyrotechnic so they use a lot of it and yes they still tour. They where just in Norway this summer with what I belived was like 60 trucks to set up the stage!
This is actually tame pyro compared to some other performances. I’ve experienced it live and I count myself lucky to still have hair. Yes, they are touring. Next year’s tour is actually 85% sold out.
Seen them when they came to the states. Was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
The energy at one of their shows is indescribable. It's frenetic and amazing and it's something you will NEVER NEVER forget!!!!

The electricity isn't real but the rest absolutely is! I saw Rammstein live earlier this year and I'm going to see them in Munich next year, and it seems that with each tour their pyrotechnics get bigger and better. I honestly look at this now and can't help but think "wow, is that really all the fire they had back then?" 😂

I saw them in San Fran around the year 2000 (in a fairly small venue) and everything caught on fire. I knew I was in for a good show when the lead singer came out with a laser coming out of his eyes and then he put up his arms and they caught on fire.

It's real all right and worth every penny to see them live.
They just finished up a US tour a few months ago, selling out stadiums here. The only added affect in the video is the electricity for the synth player. The gun pyro shot is actually wired streamers, that have basically bottle rockets on a wire. that shoot out, and then has another set that trigger and come back on another set of wires.
You even can feel the heat when you are staying in the first row. 🔥
They really look like some mineworkers. The video of „sonne“ shows exactly that. But you have watch Sonne in 2019-2022. it’s incredible when you like fire. I really suggest it

During one (1) consert they used aprox 1000 liters (aprox 265 gallons) of flamable liquides. And Till Lindemann (lead vokalist) is actually a pyro-tech himself.
The fire show shown here was exactly like the live show in San Antonio this year (Sept. 2022), except there were three towers of fire set up in the floor crowd. I was on second tier in the back and the heat with every explosion hit us. Top 3 shows I have ever seen, and I have been going to concerts since 1983.
Everything you see there is real. Amazing ♥♥

There's a tesla coil set up that works on getting enough movement built up from Flakke's walking on the treadmill...the bolts come out when his fingers touch the keys,closing the circuit. No,the lightning is not added pixels😊

They are touring and last year I was on their concert. Shows are full of piro. It is all real. It is hot not only on stage but everywhere around it.

The official video have edition but they use a lot of Pyro in their concerts I was in the México city concert and I could feel the fire closer than I thought, the you can feel the fire in all your body was amazing
I love watching newbies react to their pyro. And yes, it does get very hot, even in the nose bleeds. Till Lindemann, the lead singer is a licensed pyrotechnician. They often look wet or sweaty on stage, and that's because they keep a layer of flame retardants on them to protect from all the flame and sparks. When they did the music video for Triple X, many of the band members got 2nd degree burns because the video director ignored their safety advice and put the pyro too close to them. That was probably the last time they worked with someone they didn't know and trust. I've seen some complain that they wear the same costumes night after night, but I'm pretty sure those costumes are designed to be fire resistant. It's not just a live show, it's a whole performance.

@@nunpho it was framed that for a group that clearly makes millions, they never change up their costumes for the tour and they found it boring and or disappointing. I agree with you. The costumes are iconic and made for the theme of the show.
They have even some greater show elements on stage ... example: the singer sets himself on fire and sings a song while burning ... and that kind of real effects! scary, but cool! :)
True: the shows are quite expensive. The worst seated tickets cost around 90 bucks, but if you prefer to be in the so called "firezone" in front of the stage (< really hot), you'ld pay 150 bucks. But to be honest: money well spent and an awesome experience! :-) In 2023 they are on tour in europe again ... *yeah

"Du Hast" was record in france. Normaly there is not much friendliness between the germans and the french, but Rammstein has such a crowd control all over the world.
When french people sing in german, THAT is something very special.
"Du Hast", "Sehnsucht", "Sonne", "Deutschland", all songs are awsome in the lyrics, the meaning and the video.
When you react to "Deutschland" look the official Video. This masterpiece is the german history. But dont skip the outro and look at many details in the video. Inkl. the cast of the video. (WW1 & WW2) ;-) you will know what i mean when you see it!

I think, if people have fun to see the videos of Rammstein or hear the songs, thats great and they did everything right.
You have to know. Rammstein Shows are hard, are pyro, are loud and you in the crowd became everything . The Concerts have a "Feuerzone" (firezone) There you :-D ähm, you must see it. Look the song "Pussy" live. You will know it. ^^
Fyi this video is in paris recorded and have around 30 cameras + 10 more in the "Generalprobe". Over 70 different camera positions. The cut took two years.
They trained as pyrotechnitions after a show in Russia. You can find the show on UA-cam. They all are licensed.

Rammstein has been one of the best live bands in the world for decades. they really go above and beyond as performers. the only post-effect is the lightning on Flake's keyboard.

There are some cell phone recorded video from shows this year of their tour in the US. Audio of course is not as good and often from poor seats where you can't recognize the band members but does very good showing the scale of their pyrotechnics.
there is a area in the crowd called "Feuerzone" that means firezone you should be ready for heat if you are in there^^

They used this much of pyro, now they user more. For the stadium tour they set up huge pillars for flames.
Also, compared to some other songs the fireworks on Du Hast are more on the soft side. Check out the live performance of "Mein Teil" live at hurricane 2013.

Front row tix are called the Freir zone. And it does get hot from what I've heard.
Also I've read he(flake) is on a treadmill because he is terrible at keeping time and since reading that I've noticed little things he does to keep time.

In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".)

The title “Du hast” is a pun on the second person singular of “haben” (have) and ”hassen” (hate). It just sounds the same and differs only in the spelling (hast/hasst). In terms of content, it is about a marriage proposal, in which the lyrical I is initially undecided whether to accept it, but ultimately decides against it, which becomes clear in the chorus:
"Do you want till death do you part
Be faithful to her for all days?
(Yes) No!
Do you want to the death of the sheath
They love even in bad days?
(Yes) No!"

They just finished their America tour. There are plenty of videos on YT with the whole show. They have even increased the amount of fire since this performance. Btw you are right the lightning is post production. The regisseur of this concert video has overdone it with effects on the editing.
