      @@markthomas3730 What are you talking about? For those journals to be deemed "fruit of the poisonous tree," they would have to have been obtained illegally. They weren't. The police had a warrant to enter the house and get anything they found that might contain or provide,
      A) information on where the two missing children were, &
      B) evidence of child abuse.

      I think that was one of the daughter's diary, not the horrific diary belonging to Ruby that was used in court.

    • @kristinesharp6286
      @kristinesharp6286 6 місяців тому

      @@markthomas3730 they had a warrant. They were 20 minutes into the warrant. By the time they got to Ruby’s house they were entering to safeguard a person in immediate danger. Ruby stashed the kids at Pam’s remember. At Jodi’s first they went to safeguard what they thought would be two more kids and found only more kid. Then they sequestered Jodi so she could not destroy anything until they got the warrant to look for evidence. You don’t need a search warrant for an immediate threat. They were looking for the 16 year old and saw a vehicle registered to Ruby there. They both took a plea.

      I’m so so so glad, I can’t even imagine how much worse it would’ve gotten for them in the desert. I’m not sure how they even survived for as long as they did. R is absolutely a hero and I hope he learns to know just how good of a kid he is, and that he is responsible for saving his and E’s life. They were placed in separate foster homes but I hope one day they’ll be reunited.

      Also i don't recall anything saying they were sent to Jodie hildebrandts house. If you meant the Home Teachers that hasn't been a practice for years now. Home teachers and visiting teaching were discontinued a few years ago.
      There was mention of Jodie getting a blessing from the temple president, but he wouldn't have known about it if she didn't say anything and he didn't go to her house.

    Weird to see the house this messy, back in the Vlog days the kids had a ton of chores and appeared to be often cleaning around, also cleaning up was a form of punishment Ruby used on them. It seems no one really lived in that house for a while, which makes me wonder if the two older girls also lived at Jodi's full time or with someone else ( maybe Pam?) as they are sometimes mentioned on the diaries but nos as much as R and E and Ruby once wrote how the two girls were "visiting" or "coming over for some spring-cleaning"

    After the minimalist look of Jodi’s house, the mess really surprised me. I think the house was a mess for at least two reasons. She is packing to move. And she knew the shit was about to hit the fan and just started throwing things. Or maybe deciding what to take and what to leave. It looked like a bed had a canopy on it and it had been torn down. That isn’t bad housekeeping.

      Nobody knows because sentencing works differently in Mormon land as the actual prison term is determined by the parole board. If I recall correctly their sentence will be something between 4 years when they’re first eligible for release and 30 years - the statutory maximum in Utah
