- Our editors choice award is about a bike that combines performance with value for money. For us and our sister site @offroadcc that bike is the Giant Revolt 0. This is why it won the editor's choice for bike of the year 2020.

I've had many Giants over the years including alloy and carbon TCRs, an alloy 26.5 Anthem dually mtb, and one of my 29ers currently is an XTC hardtail which I love. I've also had several other different and great brands including Cannondales, Cervelos, Specialized, Pinarellos, Fuji - both in road and mtbs. After chatting to a Kiwi on a Revolt Advanced 0 last year on the A2O Trail, I've been very interested in trying gravel bikes for my wife and I for bikepacking, and I keep coming back to the Revolts. Sure, you've got Lefty suspension on the Cannondale Topstones and the headset suspension on the Specialized Diverges but bang for buck, I don't think you can go past Giants. And I haven't read a bad review on them yet. After breaking both wrists last year in a skateboarding crash, I'm thinking the Revolt Advanced 2 for the extra comfort. If they feel anything like my previous TCRs, I know I'll love them.
Best bike I own. I'm novice though**
How tall are you ? And what's the size of the bike ?
Is this the 2020 or 2021 model? I have the 2020 and it came with 105 components. I definitely love mine. Cheers
It's the 2021
does anyone know if there would be problems with installing a carbon seatpost to an aluminium frame such as this bike?
any idea if the 1x version is any good for road riding...I appreciate the gearing is less..wondering if the option of a larger chainring would help...of course the colour I really like is the 1x...(IF I could find one in stock anywhere that is)
I have the Revolt 2 and I have mother but good things to say about the bike
I've got the Revolt advanced 1. Amazing bike
Noticed he's riding with the front wheel unscrewing lever in place - I was told not to do that since I might lose it? I take it it didn't fall out over bumpy ground?
I took it off after the first time I took my wheelsets off. Don't think it would fall off unless screwed in loosely.
Good review. Can you confirm the bottom bracket is externally threaded? Their site says BB86 pressfit.
It is externally threaded, the site seems to be wrong
My carbon fiber Revolt Advanced is BB86 pressfit.
@@josephphillips865 that's so odd...i wonder if it's different depending on the market?! i originally noticed on road.cc reviews (both 2020 and 2021 versions) they made a point that it's externally threaded, hence my question to them to confirm - I ended up ordering a revolt 0, so will see when it eventually shows up
I saw one in a local bike shop some weeks ago and it looked like a threaded BB. I was surprised because I read press fit on the Giant website.
I have a budget of £1,499 on a gravel bike I was looking at the Revolt 1 or possibly the Revolt 2 I do more gravel riding but do sometimes go on the road. I have 2 santa cruz bikes, a Heckler and a bullet. Cheers guys
Good review as always, but that green screen thing in the beginning is beyond horrible.
Who cares, it's a bike review, not the latest graphics tech.
I mean, it's not the ideal situation for us either but we're all making do at the minute
Apriciate the Video - thanks
is there a full carbon review of this bike?
Good review thanks for the info, what weight was that Large bike, thanks Derek
10.2kg in a size Large
@@roadcc how tall are you ? this is L frame or XL frame?
I'm sure it's a great bike but after riding carbon, steel and titanium I could never go back to aluminum.
what would you say is the main difference between aluminium and carbon?
@@RevanSK Comfort over the bumps. With aluminum I feel all the vibrations, with the other materials the bumps are smoothed out. Of course AL can be smoothed out with various types of suspension and tire pressures but as a comparison from one material the next, all other things being equal, I definitely feel a difference.
fills my 10x15 foot bedroom with plenty of cool air. The remote is so handy by the bed at night.
How tall is the tester to take an L frame please?
I am 184cm and could go M/L or L
I'm 185cm with a 34" inseam and the L Revolt Advanced 0 is perfect for me. I would think you would be a L all day long.
@@CDNFF82 Thanks mate 👍
Hows this one compared to the trek domane al4 disc??? Please help
AL4 is an endurance bike. Revolt is a gravel bike. It is comparable to Trek Checkpoint ALR 5, but at a cheaper price
