This scene and song was the reason I stared to watch Modern Family, and I didn't regret it at all.... Ty Burrell, Sofia Vergara, hell everyone actors writers all did amazing job and made one of the best shows ever.
Shelley Long is awesome! Grew up in the 90s watching her movies like Troop Beverly Hills and Brady Bunch which I watched many times. Add her Christmas flicks to that! She's actually that hot and elegant mom back then.😃
I am glad that it showed Dede as the true crazy hag her character is. Gloria was exactly right when she said that 'Don't say sorry! Sorry means nothing from (Dede)!" Then Dede acts all innocent, Jay, Cam and Phil should have thrown her bodily out of the house for her vicious assault on Gloria.
If Ed O'Neill (who was up for the part) had played Sam Malone in Cheers, instead of Ted Danson, Modern Family would be pretty much about Sam and Diane as divorced grandparents.
I feel sorry for DeDe. She lost her whole family. All the family gatherings never includes her anymore. She has to move away and find her own new family

Why do they keep calling Gloria young? Yes, she’s younger than Jay but she isn’t all that young per se. I know that she’s still pretty, but goddamn Claire is so much hotter than Gloria without trying too hard. She doesn’t have to worry too much about the clothes, make up, shoes and hair and is still gorgeous. Damn.
