My whippet broke his spine when he hit a Pole in the backyard. We had to put him to sleep. I start to feel very tense, when I see them running around all these obsticals.

I've had whippets for 35 years and yes, Mr Speedy is a bit of a nut... but very whippet like traits,too. Mine LOVE those pocket beds. I take the tube part out ... then they use it like a sleeping bag. Love the open mouthed sleeping and the lip button... unique! Gotta love them! Good job with them!

These dogs are some of the most beautiful canines on the planet. Hands down. So are Collies, the Borzoi, the Saluki, the Italian Greyhound. Gorgeous. Fascinating. Superior. Best of the best of the best.

Those were some Grade A Zoomies! I'd love to see them at their top straight line speed; I was amazed at their agility and their ability to turn, not lose much speed, and accelerate in a microsecond! Speedy looked smaller than Willow; I wonder if Willow is a greyhound or just a larger whippet? Kind of how their are different size beagles. Anyway, those were two beautiful boys!
Hey! Thanks! I will try to post something of them out in the open zooming, they are funny dogs, we take them out to zoom in large spaces, but the zoomies can't be planned... they zoom when they zoom, but I'll try, it's pretty amazing to watch!

The fake digging is something that hounds do to create a comfortable rounded bed to sleep in. Our Rhodesian Ridgebacks do this instictively too, even though it doesn't produce any results. With loose blankets on a dog bed, it just means that they end up on the floor.
Wow!!! Those type of breed dogs are definitely speedy fast! I guess that's why they call them "Whippets." lol!!! I just watched your video and I have some favorite cute and funny parts I liked in it. But my favorite of favorites is when he is singing a "White Christmas." I know it's fake and it is really him singing, but I laughed so hard to the point of crying tears because it was so hilarious. 😂 lol!!! And both your fur babies are so sweet and cute and hilarious. ❤❤❤🐾🐾🐾 Your fur babies are so blessed to have such loving humans like you and your husband. There are others like yours who are not so blessed and not living a good life because they are being trained to race for money. And I can only imagine all those precious innocent dogs are either in pain from abuse to make them race or exhausted from racing so much that they don't have a life. They can't be a dog. Surely there must be a back door in the pita bed that leads to some hidden passage. Then the pita bed comes to life and is trying to devour Speedy as he fights for his life.
They take so much care arranging their bedding but dont really achieve anything😂My podenco scrabbles for ages and, invariably, ends up with all the bedding on the floor or in one uncomfortable looking lump😁
Thanks! He eats Purina Pro Plan 80/20 Sport. It's what was recommended by every whippet owner I've ever met... he also really like carrots and broccoli, raw or cooked.
I've two grandchildren and the eldest is a Whippet of 3yo. Very much like Speedy! They're sortof both dog but part cat in several ways. Although if you ask them they'd likelt say cats must die (unless they grew up with them). Sighthounds are a category of their own, but pretty easy. As long as they get to zoom and a very soft place to sleep they're pretty happy. Preferably for people who don't yell, don't mind giving up alot of couch space to your friend for cuddling, and with a good dose of humor! Speedy's such a good boi with the Willowkins! 😍💕
LOL I know that crazy backyard home zoomie experience well - it’s like someone injected them with Nitro and they just have to get it out of their system before they explode! My two are slowing down a bit now, 7yo M and 6.5yo F, but still full of personality 💥🙂 Whippets are genuinely the best 👍🙂
I completely agree! Whippets are the best... 7 was about the time my last whippet turned into a 24-7 couch pillow... but I love that too... snuggles all the time!
Our oldest whippet used to lick the couch, and when my mom would call his name in a scolding voice, he’d freeze with his tongue on the couch and look at her like he was hoping if he didn’t move, she wouldn’t see him. Then, I swear to you, he used to put his arm in front of his nose and pretend he was grooming himself and not the couch. The couch was like a velour-type material, and there was a stiff spot from him always licking it. He also tried his freeze frame on me once when he stole some steaks my dad had left to thaw on the back of the stove (not sure what my dad was thinking between the food safety issues and two known thieves). Well, one was hidden in the blankets under his dog bed, and I caught him burying another in the yard. Not sure if he thought we were like T-Rexes that could only see motion, or if he wasn’t sure what to do. Whippets are hilarious.

How old is speedy and do you think a 5 or 6 year old might be happy inside with daily leash walks. Our greyhound was but the one we tried to adopt after was not. Am thinking a whip might be a better fit given our age and lifting but do not have a fenced yard and dog parks are diseased.

Courtney our eyeliner fawn was the apple of our families eyes. She did nothing wrong, ever! She was with us 16 years. Loved every minute of her! ❤❤❤
