  • This is a how to video on replacing your oxygen sensor on your 2016 lincoln mkc or ford escape. I hope this helps those of you looking to do this job yourself as the mechanics like to charge an arm and a leg. Thanks for watching and have a great day.

Thank you Bradz for this video.
Our MKC threw a code and I thought oh an O2, no problem (thinking V8 pickup)!
I already knew that old O2 sensors are dug in like an Alabama tick so I bought what you used and I also bought a deep well O2 tool from Harbor Freight 63702. It took a swivel and a 12 inch extension and a long pipe on the ratchet to break loose. There is very little room to have leverage in the video using what you had, (props to you:)! Our 2017 MKC has a coolant line attached to the battery box so you would need a torx bit, loosen the line from the box and work around it.

Used this for my 2019 MKC downstream O2. Someone else showed how to unfasten the exhaust hanger and shift over to give room. Tight fit but works. Much appreciated and saved me going nuts trying to find harness.

We have the 2016 MKC Select and just got back from taking it into the dealership to see what the engine light was about and one issue was exactly this! The quote, to do what you just shown, was $430.51. Glad I found this, Thanks!

Just finished replacing the Oxygen Sensor(upstream). My vehicle was a 2017 Lincoln MKC. The O2 sensor was very hard to get at but doable. Thanks for the post.

Very informative video. Did have a question. At 9:04 into the video, the video shows the O2 socket stationary but you are turning the ratchet. Was this done to expedite the video? Once again, it was an informative video and am going to do this in the next couple of days. Thanks!

I think I just didn’t realize when editing that I saved the part of the video clip when I thought the socket was turning but wasn’t. It’s hard to get to and took a while so I had to shorten that clip so I wouldn’t be wasting peoples time with several minuets of it barely turning.
