This is central market and the biggest one, would you like us to visit smaller and more local markets in the future? Share your requests in the comments below and have a good day 🤍
Hi, would you like to show me please the local smaller market price and also the village or farmer market price in Slovenia، are the prices all over Slovenia as high as I see in this video?
The food in Slovenia is expensive because we don't use corporate farming or illegals to work the land. Just normal people working the land who deserve a living wage.
There are people who regularly shop at the market because: they are e.g. vegans, vegetarians, they want exclusively organic, etc. or the elderly who do not trust supermarkets. The dresses at the market are of surprisingly good quality, you have the option of returning and if you don't get your size in the store, you are guaranteed to get it at the market. Many seamstresses sell their products and, if necessary, adjust the purchased dress or pants for you. I myself don't often buy at the market, the only exception is sauerkraut or sauerturnip, because you can try it, which you can't do in the store. Local farmers mostly sell their own food, which is why it is also more expensive, and some sellers sell imported food, like the gentleman with tangerines. The younger generation doesn't remember, but before the advent of modern supermarkets, we all mainly bought vegetables and fruits at the market.
Beautiful! Thanks for the explaination. I see the kisla repa being very popular there too..I bought the kisla cabbage one time :) It deserves another visit!
@@MorAcro Next time you can also visit the covered market - a building in front of which there is a weighing scale - inside they sell bread, meat, cheeses, cottage cheese, nuts, etc.
Market places like this in central Ljubljana are considered almost like "luxury" food. Usually people go to supermarkets for vegetables etc. Maybe in Morocco the market places are more common for every day use...

each country has its advantages and disadvantages, the same for each state in the USA. In any case in Slovenia, you can feel a certain serenity and peace of mind, ideal for a pregnant woman, even the baby should feel it
It is "local market" prices. You can get all these fruits and vegetables in local supermarkets and stores. Maybe it is not "BIO", but price is few times lower. Tomato from 1,5 - 2,5€, baby potatoe around 80c, peaches 1.5€/kg etc. For 20€ You can buy goods for whole week :)
Thanks for the tips! I love Hoffer, hate Mercator.....in Morocco the markets like this are much cheaper than the supermarkets and stores...adjusting to the culture!

I read most of the comments here and I agree about the outrageous prices of the of fruits and vegetables, BUT, as a Moroccan myself I'd like to point out to my fellow Moroccans that we shouldn't be comparing the cost of living between Slovenia ( Esp. Ljubljana ) and Morocco !!! According to Wikipedia the most typical yearly salary in Slovenia is $ 27,000 whereas in Morocco is $ 7000. I've never been to Slovenia, but I'm quite sure the prices are way lower than that outside the capital Ljubljana !!
True, this is the expensive market in the capital city. If you go to smaller and more local farmers markets the prices are lower... another vlog coming soon!
Yes, we would have to compare to Rabat or Casablanca.....Still prices here are 10x, sometimes more for items, put that on the typical salary and you are eating good, healthy, fruits and vegetables in Morocco with greater ease. Simple comparison of tomatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, etc...still more buying power for these cornerstones of a healthy and tasty life.
@@wilsonkorisawa7026Yes it is true the customer is king, but there is such thing as prospecting etc. that's how you get the sales; otherwise suppliers wait for ages and that's valid in all fields. If the egyptians can sell their mandarines there, and I happen to know that they are of lesser quality than Moroccan citrus, then surely this is a country we should be prospecting to sell into, if we have not already. Anyway, thanks for your feedback and take care. bye
@@briscomadani5018 It has nothing to do with the client being the king. This is just the worldwide and common procedure used by all countries for importing any goods. To make it more simple, suppose that you are a Moroccan trader selling tomatoes around the world. You do not load a ship with containers and start cruising around the planet looking for a buyer ~you can do that if you sell doughnuts at the beach :)~...What you do instead is expose yourself to the market (there are web markets for whole suppliers), and send "e-brochures" to all retailers. If a retailer (let's say Carrefour in Paris) is interested in your tomatoes, the sales manager would contact you, then make the order, and sign the purchasing contract, which includes the shipping costs, and other legal documents. In Europe you can find oranges mainly from Spain, Israel, Morocco, Egypt, Greece and even Peru.. The same rule applies, the retailers compares the overall costs, distance, punctuality etc...and chooses what suits him/her.
