      He befriended a 6-yr-old cancer victim (Charlie) via a family friend & wore a yellow plastic wristband w/the kid's name on it plus a Bible verse on it when asked by the boy's mom. Johnny spent his bye-week Sat. visiting the little boy - whom he did not know - in a Houston hospital while the other A&M players went home. At the Heisman trophy presentation, the reporters asked him to remove the band for photos - to which Johnny said NO! He even got Coach Sumlin to wear one and I bet he got some of the other A&M players to wear one and support Charlie. Johnny also did a fund raiser for the little boy and invited his family to come to the NLF draft w/him! Johnny was asked to be in a charity fund raiser modeling clothes and little Charlie was right by his side going down the runway! Johnny - as you notice from the video - always gave God the glory for his feats- pointing up to heaven! There's no other quarterback that I know of that comes close!

    I feel like if he would've stayed the two more years in college he woulda been the #1 pick in the 2016 draft. He would've been the perfect personality at the Quarterback position for LA. He also could've learned behind Keenum for a bit. But if he woulda kept up this production for those two other years, while polishing himself as a passer, and maturing...he could've ended up as an outstanding pro. He also could have won a natty eventually, maybe even a 2nd heisman. But it'll only be what could've been. Hopefully he becomes a great Canadian player so he can make a comeback to the NFL.

      Kameron Lord manziel deserves shit. He has been handed everything in his life. Don’t forget, he threw to MIKE EVANS. Yes, he is a good athlete. I never liked his game, and he didn’t win enough games. I compare him to Christian hackenberg as a freshman. He was a surefire 1st round pick in the NFL after that freshman season...or so they say. Don’t forget he was throwing to Allen Robinson. Manziel doesn’t have an arm, and most importantly, he doesn’t have any brains. I’m all for second chances, but not in his case. I can’t believe there are people whom watch the game of football and actually believe he has a snowballs chance of making it back to the NFL.

    Imagine Johnny with the weapons that the Ags have now. Scary! He had Evans, and some others, but the D wasn't much.

    • @randylahey345
      @randylahey345 Рік тому

      He had 4 linemen, 2 RBs and 2 WRs that went to the NFL from just the 2 seasons he played. The Aggies have only had 5 offensive players drafted since the 2020 draft. He had more offensive weapons/blockers than A&M has ever had. When people are desperate to make an excuse, they sometimes sound absolutely delusional. Delusional or just plain stupid.

    • @blakenorthrup
      @blakenorthrup Рік тому +1

      @randylahey345 Calm down man, Evens is the only one that has done anything as far as offensive weapons are concerned. Even those that went to the NFL didn't produce much once they got there. In talking about Anias, Achane, Spiller, and the defense isn't even in the same league. The D during the Johnny years wasn't even Big 12 level.

      That’s wild now that I think of it, Manziels senior year would’ve been the 2015-16 season, that’s the year Derrick Henry & Alabama won the national championship, A&M went 16-10 in the timeframe that would’ve been his JR & SR year, A&M went 16-10 with 3 quarterbacks all fighting for playing time (Kenny Hill) (Kyle Allen) (Kyler Murray) with Manziel they would’ve got to the SEC Championship at least once.

      I'm saying. Now schools traditionally known as smaller less competing schools(UCF, HOUSTON, MEMPHIS) are questioning how we do the playoff. 10 or even 5 years ago we would have never thought about letting them compete for a championship.

    • @streky5
      @streky5 6 років тому +3

      Big C they should be able to try, i think an 8 team playoff would work and let some smaller schools have a chance. Im a lsu fan but i love an underdog, it makes it interesting to me.

      75kyle As long as it's THE 8 BEST TEAMS( a 3 loss conference champion isn't getting in). It would be the 8 BEST teams in the nation. The first 4 games are played at the top 4 seeds home field then the semifinal is a bowl game like normal and then the neutral site championship like normal.

    Duke was on their way to being a serious football program. Ever since this game they were never the same.

    • @lhsbandfreak11
      @lhsbandfreak11 6 років тому

      Anthony Lopez I wouldn't necessarily say that. The Duke teams in both 2013 and 2014 were special teams, no doubt. Remember that Duke was back in the top 20 the year after this but unfortunately losses to VT and UNC back to back weeks knocked them out of a 2nd straight ACC title game appearance. Then they nearly beat Arizona State in the Sun Bowl. 2015, they slipped back a little (as expected honestly) but got their first bowl win since 1961 in the Pinstripe Bowl. 2016, the injury bug eats them alive and finish 4-8, and it felt like a disappointing season, which is weirdly a backhanded compliment in regards to what Coach Cut has done with the program. What used to be considered a great success was now a disappointing season, finishing 4-8. Last year, they had that promising 4-0 start before losing 6 in a row, but won their last two to become bowl eligible and won their bowl game convincingly. And they were only blown out twice in that losing streak. Now they're back in the top 25, so we'll see how far they can take it because now they're getting more talented recruits coming in to the program. It'll be interesting to see how far they can go!
      P.S. Harris Highlights, you should make a highlight video of the 2015 Pinstripe Bowl where Duke did break the bowl win drought seeing it was one of only 3 or 4 really good postseason games that year

    The song "Power" (@Texas A&M Univ.) is played as the football team entrance piece just prior to kick-off for the AGGIES at Kyle Field. Some are claiming.."yeah, it's racially slurred and profane, but we don't sing the lyrics"- "It's just an instrumental". Others, "We play the clean version its just a brief hype piece" If not for those horrendous lyrics, this song never would have existed. I suppose a posted/announced disclaimer at Kyle Field is in order? It's saddening and confusing the lengths some people will take to try and justify the existence of something that reflects so poorly on TX A&M. One of the chief obstacles to progressive change here is the fact that so few Aggies are even aware of the lyrics. That will change.
    What if the song contained lyrics promoting cop killing? Or encouraged the resumption of slavery? Or the abuse of children? The dissemination of AR15's? Would an "instrumental version" remain acceptable and appropriate knowing full well what those lyrics are? Are there any lines that can't be crossed today? Based on the former OU coach who recently resigned and the backlash created by the spectator at a BYU volleyball game, the data suggests there are. Musician Morgan Wallen was barred from the ACM award function just last year for using a racial slur. Recognize, trust and believe the data. Some things are just not acceptable.
    Others have suggested it's OK for a person of color to use these shameful and hurtful slurs and others can't...is this not racist in itself? Think long and hard about that one. That's a confusing and dangerous road to take. It's not OK. Learning to respect yourself might make respecting others an easier choice. I wonder what Dr. King's thoughts would be on this notion? Apply a little dose of tough love?
    Regardless, the extreme profanity with MF-bombs, references to sexual acts and organs in the song's lyrics should make the decision an easy one. Yeah, it's chocked full of beneficial goodness. The selection of such a crude song is very perplexing. At best. It's tradition now, but does that make it any less toxic and inappropriate? Google the lyrics...you'll be shocked. A state supported institution no less... One that prides itself on producing leaders.. Are $$$ and wins the priority here over common decency? Perhaps there wasn't an over-riding scheme/intent behind the decision maker's selection. If there was, the selection of this song in particular is somewhat distressing. Regardless of its popularity. We ought to be better than this.
    Our core values.....are some departments exempt perhaps? The AGGIE CODE of HONOR: "Is an effort to unify the aims of all Texas A&M men and women toward a high code of ethics and personal dignity ". Do we have a somewhat disturbing disconnect here? Are you a parent? Need to walk the talk IMO.
    Would there be any negative consequences if another song, lyrically devoid of racial slurs and profanity was chosen as a replacement? A&M has an optimal opportunity here at becoming part of the answer, not the problem.
    Tough love for Texas A&M...we are better than this. Gigem

    If Houston Texans drafted him #1 overall he would've been something to behold. This world is all about systematic, faithless , kill the spirit.
    And Johnny football is all about playmaking, faith, spirit on the field.
    Looks dumb now , but Lord knows Houston sports is for chumps. Hopefully Westbrook can change that.
