@Not Convinced If you want my opinion, it all stems from the ideal that information should be free to all, which is sort of a core ethic (which I agree with). That extrapolates into a lot of other things that happen to fall more into the left's political spectrum. As to why there are no right wing hacktavists... well, I am not a hacker, but I work in the software development industry and I can say I don't talk much about my conservative opinions with peers because they are not viewed as acceptable, and generally in the minority. Why that is... Well there are a ton of socio-political reasons, but to be very brief, the culture of universities over the last 25 years or so, the demographics of people who spend a lot of time online, and the type of people that others in this line of work grew up admiring or who were very successful.

I love this and resonate with it immensely; a misfit, delinquent, who left school while I was still 14, skateboarded, broke into empty industrial buildings to skate & explore, mucked around with low level hacking. It's inspiring to see this; as I'm in my mid-life now and want to bring back that core, that youthful curiosity and sense of adventure, that family, kids, a mortgage has slowly eroded.

Man! You have the life I dreamed about being a kid. Skateboard, rock band and hacking. I was into skateboarding, played in punk rock band and found hackers so cool but I didn’t have your brain capacities, being lazy also maybe. I just was the one finding warez games and crack for my friends so I could bring new games for everyone to enjoy. I wished to be surrounded by friends being hackers so I could learn from them but I was on my own. Anyhow, not trying to find excuses for not being an hacker. Got suspended from school once for hacking into the system because I was bored. Told the substitute teacher I would and did not try to hide it. Was a time before much internet. Teacher was an engineer. He wrote the security. One guy does not think of all the simple back doors. I was exploring and learning. Never tried to damage anything. We did get an advanced computers course the next year. I did once put a companies system into a processing loop that took over a day. I made a report to prove I was making the company more money than any other tech. Did not notice how slow that system was until it was to late. They thought it was someone else. I made the report for everyone to help hide who it was. I never used the report. I went on my own a few weeks later. I did have proof I was the most profitable tech the company had. I didn't want to work for liars, so why even bring it up. This may be the first time I have told this. 12 years later??

College is a scam! If you're determined enough you can learn everything for free, with proper researching skills almost anything, especially technological stuff can be self taught.
@@ewreck944 Whether you goto school or not, you get your certs from CompTIA or other companies online. Schools have NEVER given you official certs, they give you THEIR school "certificate" for completing THEIR program. Going to school for certs is silly bc certs only cost like 150-400 each and you pay for them indirectly and you only really need a few of them. They even sell a course for the certifications and a study guide. Not only that certs expire every 2-years, so they some will expire before you even finish your degree. If you really wanted to you can get 4 certs in a month. The same 4 certs you will get in your second year of college, after taking a bunch of other unnecessary classes. Certs expire cause information always changes, in 20 years time you would've renewed your stuff dozens of times and whatever degree you received would be obsolete along with any old/outdated information, which is why college is a scam for something like computers. Why would you take a college course and get a college degree for something that still requires for you to buy a course and pay for a test online at home. The degree is a depreciating asset and hold no value unless it's paired with your certifications and you will be in debt. Just get the certs.
I have a question and I hope to the creator you could answer it . Where can someone such as myself get proper training in Southern California? I was taking online courses but every course was just repetitive information and nothing was hands on . I'm more of a hands on learner than anything else.
