The Healthy Transformation Thanks. I'm not a native to the city but much of my family is so I've had the pleasure of visiting many times. I love it (except the traffic).
I’m seriously thinking of moving to Vancouver ( lower mainland ) from Calgary in the Spring. I’ve just recently started watching utube videos about moving to Vancouver and this is definitely one of the better ones as far as quality of life in Vancouver. Thanks
I would agree with everything you’re saying, including gas town, but there’s one thing that most tourist should know before they go, just behind gas town is one of the worst poverty-stricken areas in all of Canada, and the particular one alleyway called crack alley, famous for people shooting up drugs day and night, so like in any other big city just use a little common sense, try to find out the good areas to hang around, but other than that, I guarantee it that you’ll fall in love with the city and the surrounding area, it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve only been there five times, I live in Toronto, so it’s quite far away for me, but I can’t wait to go back!
I have loved Vancouver since i first went there in 2001. This time, in 2018, i was confronted with an even more modern Vancouver but one that had so many people living in the parks and streets. There were hipster cafes on one side and 15 homeless people across the road. None of them were intimidating but it was confronting to others. My last night in wonderful Vancouver i visited the Odeon theater. Using the conveniences there i got to 'witness' a local shooting up in the cubicle next to mine. Vancouver, like many great cities, isnt perfect... but its close to it so to see this seemed out of place. I loved the people, loved the nightlife and vibe, loved the sports bars and Davie St....Thats what i will remember but the homeless peeps i saw showed me a different side to this amazing city. Love ya Canada!!
Just a point. The beaches look beautiful but the water is filthy. If you like playing in your toilet you will definitely want to swim at the beach, where the fecal count will probably surpass your home toilet.
Hell's Gate is pretty awesome. It is about 2.5 hours west of Vancouver so I didn't include it on this list. I'll be sure to review it next trip out (especially during the salmon migration). Thanks for the comment, I'm always happy to hear from Australia 🐨 (I was born there but moved to Canada when I was young).
In my opinion, you left out the best places. Lynn Canyon is my #1. Also the view from near Simon Fraser University towards downtown is amazing, Horseshoe Bay and the Sea to Sky Highway. And stay at Lonsdale Quay Hotel, great location being in North Vancouver but next to the Seabus to downtown. Vancouver is worth at least 1 visit a year. So beautiful and no matter how many times you visit, never gets old, even in the rain, it is wonderful!
For spectacular views ( weather depending) take the sky ride to the top of Grouse Mountain. Everyone should come and visit. Pick a season there is lots to see and do year round.
Vancouver, where you can see CHINA , INDIA And IRAN All in one day (Richmond Vancouver , SURREY AND NORTH VAN) Oh and if you want to see some natives or locals just go to east hastings they all became drug addicts because they couldnt afford 1 million dollars for a condo, now they live on the street! Awesome! Have a great time😁

I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country. To be fair, I randomly looked at videos from downtown Manchester and Concord in New Hampshire - Philadelphia - Detroit - Chicago - New York - Baltimore - Denver - Nashville, and Knoxville in the United States, and Toronto - Quebec - Montreal - Winnipeg - Calgary - Vancouver - Victoria - Ottawa and Thunder Bay in Canada. we should be fair. The bitter truth must be accepted. Without any exaggeration. Completely impartial. I have to say that I didn't see a single piece of garbage in any of the US videos to convince myself. Without exaggeration, in all Canadian cities, there must have been a piece of garbage on the ground less than every hundred meters. It must have an important reason. I do not know. But this is a bitter truth. You can try. This country should be brought closer to its exaggerated claim. the truth is bitter. Certainly, some Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and even Malaysia are much cleaner compared to Canada. Of course, we should not forget that Canada claims to be one of the 10 cleanest countries in the world. And Vancouver claims to be one of the 5 cleanest cities in the world. Please go to East Hastings or Victoria Drive or Commercial Drive or West Georgia or Broadway or Main Street and judge for yourself. I am 50 years old and have traveled to 26 countries. Canada is far from its claims. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022, I decided to move to the east because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception This country is disappointing. Please, Please, Please, don't immigrate to Canada you would regret it absolutely. this is not a developed country, Canada is a developing country with huge serious problems.
Wow. Didn't realize Vacouver is so boring. I went on Trip Advisor to find the top 10 things to do and I had no interest in a single one. They have nothing original that I couldn't find something similar to do at home.
A perfect video to explain Vancouver.. It's such a beautiful city, I'm going to Vancouver for my studies this year.. Can u make a full video like this on Vancouver please!
Thank you for this video. I really enjoy watching it. I live in Vancouver and this is the best city in Canada. The weather is the same like in Odessa city, Ukraine where I came from.
Thanks Frederick - it's a pretty cool story (wiki about him: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Deighton). Much of the "west" in Canada has various ties back to Scotland and England.
BC's early history was a constant struggle to keep from being annexed by the US. That was the main reason why the Canadian Pacific Railway was built. This brought about the founding of Vancouver'S Chinatown which was originally a ghetto where the railway coolies were forced to stay.
Rhonda Collins ...the steam clock is pretty cool. One of the many reasons Gas Town topped the list. The history of this area and the atmosphere (day or night) plus a few surprises make Gas Town a special place for visitors to Vancouver. I also enjoyed sitting outside (on a dry day) having a beer and wings taking in the awesome architecture, tree lined streets, and talking hockey with die hard Canuck fans (there are a few).
@@EternalBlaze10 Depends on what you are looking for, personally I prefere Victoria and Kelowna, better weather less crowded nicer people not chinese territory yet.
In a sense I can see how you can view Vancouver as “overrated” more or less in tourism videos. I wouldn’t say much of what is shown in such videos are “normal” for some, if not most people living in the given city.
Whistler is 1.5 hours north of Vancouver by car (on sea to sky highway). You'll need to book on a coach (bus) with tour operator to get there. Greyhound bus line is one option. You can still visit in one day but it will be a quick visit, depending on bus schedule.
I don't live there but have spent many summers (and all other times of the year) with family that lives there - currently my daughter goes to school there so I visit as much as I can. We were last there in Sept 17, weather was great (only one rainy day).
imagiscope Great to hear about the weather. You must have seen all the attractions in Vancouver. I'm finding it a challenge to find a reasonable decent hotel.
Check the Richmond or Langley areas - they are a bit more reasonable. Vancouver is not a cheap city, especially for hotels. I stayed at the Pinnacle Harbourfront on my last visit - good hotel, but it wasn't cheap, about $300/night. You can get around with public transportation (bus and SkyTrain) but a car is more convenient.
It starts raining in October and stops in March or April. In January you will have a wet cold so defiantly don't visit in January with humidity around 100% all the time.

Pissing rain here it is.. big ol' fat rain

I hope the night life is awesome there and if possible find my significant other.❤❤❤❤
