I love how at first you're like "Why is Zane so weird? Oh it's because he's a robot." But then we meet Pixal who doesn't act like this and you realize Zane being a robot is unrelated and he's just neurodivergent.
I love that too, and also how Dr. Julien confirms in season 2 that Zane's cooking ability isn't programmed in, meaning that not everything in him is down to programming.
@@AvaTsohantaridis I figured that the only thing that is preprogrammed is his basic personality, and Zane still learns new skills and information like normal humans.
Isn't pixel a lot more modern tho, she was made just to be a robot and although she gained a personality, Zane was programmed to be human like, and humans can be weird.
I love how him being a robot didn't make him any less neurodivergent coded after seeing that he was still different when compared to other robots lmao zane my autistic king 😼
I love Zane, he’s unironically some of the best Autistic representation in media. Yes, he’s autistic, you can’t convince me otherwise. As for him being a robot, that’s just another part of him. It’s like how I’m both autistic, and dyslexic. Ah…I love ninjago, it’s one of my favorite shows ever.
@luffaplaysstuff good question, im not sure tbh, Cryptor (and all the nindroids created in S3 specifically) seems to act more like neurotypical nindroid than Zane, but it could be that we have mostly seen him taking orders and hating Zane i need to rewatch season 3 and day of the departed to take notes specifically about cryptor
No they did not. Zane was originally meant to be a prototype and his funny switch wasn't on either. He's different because he's one of the earliest models ever. Mr.E was his more advanced version and Pixal was also already built as a more advanced version as well.
@@neonice being a prototype doesnt make him less neurodivergent compared to almost all other nindroids though, he still shows irrational behaviour thats not seen in other robots and nindroids that also doesnt come from living with the ninja, which in this case, its neurovidergent since nindroids and AIs are a species of people in ninjago, also, he literally rebuilt himself and still choose to keep stuff similar to his original build (like the funny switch), which is something a neurotypical nindroid would NOT do, because its an irrational behaviour, its not logical nor efficient to do that, but zane did it anyways, the same way he chose to use the divers suit in seabound because he wanted to look cool like his friends even if he didnt needed it to breathe. Most AIs in ninjago would avoid these behaviours, or question them at the very least, but Zane does stuff for the fun of it, and waaay more often than other nindroids like pixal
I remember a scene where the ninjas make a joke at the table and Zane has to turn on the humor, laugh with them and then turn it off again. So relatable lol
The whole idea of making Zane a robot because of how he acted autistic-coded in the pilot is kinda ick but they redeemed it by making other robot character straight up not act the same besides maybe Echo and early early Pix. Went from he's autistic coded because he's actually a robot to he's just a autistic robot lol
you know what. screw it. i’m saying them anyway. most of these are because i like the character so i gave them my issues. in no particular order: cole - ADHD zane - autistic (obviously) jay - autistic and ADHD but with an emphasis on the ADHD (to me he’s an AuDHDer) arin - autistic. just look at him geo - autistic (with a spritz of separation anxiety disorder/abandonment issues but i don’t think that counts as neurodivergence. oh well he’s neurodivergent to me because i love him) i can’t think of anymore please share your headcanons yippeeee!!!
@nichtsreimtsichaufcolinThey told Brent Miller to read his lines like Data from Star Trek (he's a robot too), the directors liked it so much that he became a robot
Being autistic as well, I found great joy in continuing watching Ninjago growing up. It is a common interest between me and my 10yo younger brother, which really makes us bond, where the age difference otherwise makes it a little challeging. This also taught me a few things. Great humour, and compilation. Thank you for making it.
No, I'm with you. I 100% see Zane as Neurodivergent. Even if he is a robot he still has those vibes. A lot of the time autism and robots are linked in more of a negative way how people on the spectrum are more of a emotionless robot who just CANT get it. Zane is the opposite sure he doesn't get things a lot of the time but arguably even though he is a robot he is the most human of the ninja. The guy *spoilers* literally sacrificed himself because he cares. Moreover the show treats Zane finding out he is a robot and more of it's Zane finding out how his body and mind works. I have a friend who hasn't been diagnosed for autism yet but a lot of my friends are certain they are. My friend when they watched Ninjago really related to Zane. In short yeah, it's not just you who thinks Zane is Neurodivergent.
I wanna see a part two with Jay being the AuHD king that he is 🙏🙏🙏 Literally in the same episode he doesn’t understand sarcasm and infodumps about trains guys he’s literally me
Dude how is that sad he was never neurodivergent in the first place. The reason he doesn't get jokes and stuff is because his funny switch isn't on. Because he had to grow up without his dad who died early, wiped his memory and left Zane to figure out his functions alone.

Also he had a lot of other autistic traits like not undrestand sarcasm, special intrests etc. Also a quick reminder that just bc u dont agree doesnt mean other's dont.
I love the idea that Zane’s detective and pirate captain personals are the result of special interests lol
Or maybe it's just acting
I love how at first you're like "Why is Zane so weird? Oh it's because he's a robot." But then we meet Pixal who doesn't act like this and you realize Zane being a robot is unrelated and he's just neurodivergent.

@ Then Zane rebuilt himself using probably the same technology as Pixal so that complicates things a bit.
Overthinking things is fun
I love how him being a robot didn't make him any less neurodivergent coded after seeing that he was still different when compared to other robots lmao zane my autistic king 😼

YES! YES HE IS! :)
i love how ninjago did the ''neurodivergent kid is a robot'' but then made more robots to show that zane is both a robot AND neurodivergent
So if cryptor is zanes brother does that mean ALL of the nindroids are neurodivergent
@luffaplaysstuff good question, im not sure tbh, Cryptor (and all the nindroids created in S3 specifically) seems to act more like neurotypical nindroid than Zane, but it could be that we have mostly seen him taking orders and hating Zane

That's what I'm planning on doing with ash in my android/mewthree ash rewrite
The "funny switch" thing it's very personal.
I remember a scene where the ninjas make a joke at the table and Zane has to turn on the humor, laugh with them and then turn it off again. So relatable lol
HELLO MA' BABY
HELLO MA' HONEY
HELLO MY RAGTIME GAAAAAAL
SEND ME A KISS BYYYYYYYYYYY
🕺🕺🕺🕺☺️
My god I just realized with the added “Detective Phase” it literally makes him one to one with Chase from Rescue Bots lmfao
im pretty sure this Boi has 5 Personalitys And i love all of them
As an autistic girl, i really love Zane sm and also i have him as My comfort character .
He’s my comfort character too, he’s so silly and I love that :3
@Vee-the-eevee YES HE LOOKS SO HUGGABLE FOR NO REASON
Zane and Chase from Transformers Rescue Bots would be pretty good friends (probably)
I FORGOT TO SAY I REALLY KIN HIM
Same! I felt like I could relate to him in a level that I couldn’t with the others

it was actually because of the VA doing a really good robotic voice
the creators rewrote zane entirely because of that
from what I've heard, anyway
REAL
i headcanon half the cast as neurodivergent at this point someone help me /lh
YOU'RE SO REAL YES!!
real
wwait chat. if you want to hear some of my headcanons them i *will* tell you them because my autistic self likes to project onto characters a *lot*
you know what. screw it. i’m saying them anyway. most of these are because i like the character so i gave them my issues. in no particular order:

zane - autistic (obviously)
jay - autistic and ADHD but with an emphasis on the ADHD (to me he’s an AuDHDer)

@skrunkly-doo your hcs are so real
Wasnt the only reason they made Zane a robot was because the way his voice sounded, that still hurts me to this day
@nichtsreimtsichaufcolinThey told Brent Miller to read his lines like Data from Star Trek (he's a robot too), the directors liked it so much that he became a robot
Brent Miller's performance was inspired by Data from Star Trek, and it was so good they completely rewrote Zane's character.
Being autistic as well, I found great joy in continuing watching Ninjago growing up. 5:49 74 episodes and a holiday special. Just me or does it feel like there existed a tv-show with that episode count when decoded came out?
perchance one with ninjas of the lego variety

Literally Zane and Jay are the "ADHD vs. Autism" meme.
Jay and Zane are like the ADHd and autistic people just hanging out and vibing, and I live for it.
He’s the best autistic person you can’t convince me that he isn’t the best or autistic TvT
Vaya, ahora se porque Zane es mi personaje favorito
He losing his neurodivergent traits with time... so sad

I love him so much brung my boi back in the spotlight like he DESERVES 😭✨
HE’S LITERALLY ME 😭😭😭😭😭
My friend said he's "autistic coded" which is probably the single greatest line that will ever be derrived from this franchise
The reason my favorite ninja was zane since i started watching ninjago:
This video.
(It shows literally how he is :] )
2:30 This is some boomer behavior and I have no issues about that
5:42 I want a suit like that so bad! :D
You should make one for Jay’s ADHD 💙😆
Zane is my spirit animal 😅
Never knew how much I related to him as I grown up
2:10 I really like this scene, jay is so supportive ksksl
5:35 - 5:42 😂😂😂😂 Makes me laugh hard every single time!!!
0:12 no cap Sensei was based right there
Love this! Loved Zane as a kid, then got diagnosed with autism and suddenly it all made sense. 🤍❄️
He's literally me
Yeah I would absolutely do that imitating a peg leg thing
2:38 what episode is this
Mmm. I haven't seen Sons of Garmadon in a hot minute, but I believe this is the first episode of that season.
@@Nivek-G9You're right. This bit is at the end of the 1st episode.
Hear me out 😭🙏🏻
he's so me
when of course I'm not acting in character as Jay
What does neurodivergent mean
He thinks and perceives world differently from everyone else.
ua-cam.com/video/xsfml3yVh1g/v-deo.htmlsi=fLg9Tmwfrz5bXBOk
It's a fancy word for autism
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees Zane as neurodivergent! 😂🤍
