  • Today, I'm going to be making Niku Udon.
Udon is a Japanese noodle made of wheat, has a chewy and bouncy texture, as you might already know.
Traditionally, we serve Udon with piping hot savory Dashi broth.
And various toppings are available, like tempura or simmered Aburaage.
Niku Udon is one of that Udon, which I choose when I'm starving.
    It's so satisfying!
    2 servings
    〈Dashi broth for Udon〉
    1 piece of Kombu kelp
    20g Thinly shaved Katsuobushi
    3 cups (720ml) water
1 tablespoon light soy sauce (or regular soy sauce)
    〈Savory and sweet beef〉
    150g Thinly sliced beef
    1 teaspoon sugar
    2 teaspoon Sake
    2 teaspoon soy sauce
    2 servings frozen Udon
    scallion
    Japanese chili pepper

That looks good. How good do you think this is if I have dry udon noodles that I cook myself instead of the frozen variety?

      Why not!
Okinawan people use dried Udon for this type of soup almost all the time!

That didn't help my ramen cravings I've had for a week now! 😫 Tomorrow it's ramen-time! 😍 Or perhaps udon... 😉 I always have a stash of noodles and fresh udon at home.

@@kitchenprincessbamboo How is that you don't make ramen at home in Japan? Is it because it's easy just to go out and eat at a ramen shop?
