Legend! I've watched this same video twice over the years to replace both bulbs at the same time. Ford certainly don't make it easy.
💪🙏🙏👌
Way easier than a stupid Toyota Estima.
Guess what I'm doing this weekend? 🤣
I've watched this video a few times over the years of Mondeo ownership. Always been a great help. Thanks a lot. 👍
I’ve done this in the past based on trial and error. This is hugely informative and makes the job easier and much quicker.
This was very helpful. Struggled with the black pop-off plastic after the two screws but everything else was quite easy. The tip about lifting up the headlights and pulling was very helpful
Thank you, happy it helped
Thank you! Had a dipped beam go out on my Dad's 2011 Titanium X this evening, wasn't obvious how to change it at all looking at the light itself. I watched this guide and changed it in all of 5 minutes. One thing to note, if you have a projector headlight rather than a reflector type on the lower spec cars, you need to remove the connector for the bulb then the retaining clip, otherwise you can't get the bulb out.
Cheers!
Really helpful , thank you. Let down by local Halfords branch and was dreading having to sort it myself. This was fantastic: clear suggestions & well filmed. Absolute lifesaver!
Thank you, my Mondeo shot down in NCT on moisture in headlamp, have a month to sort it. This video saved me a few weeks of psychosis😂😂
Was struggling with changing the light and was told to go to a mechanic, this vid was very clear i changed my light in 10-15 minutes
Thank you so much for this video! I just changed my light bulbs by following step by step what you do.
Thanks, very helpful. There's nothing you can't find on the Internet!!
It is a great source of info for everything if you look in the right places :)
Thanks David.
Thank you for such a clear and easy to understand explanation.
Thanks, worked a treat. The bulb base needed a slight bend to get in but it got there
Thanks dude, getting the headlamp out was pretty difficult before seeing this.
Thank you for this video mate, I was told that I had to remove the bumper to do this and that I would have to take it to a garage. I called a garage amd they of course said that's right...... Then I saw your video and that's that sorted. Thank you again.
Thank you so much, saved time and money and easy to follow
Thanks mate. I did it after watching your video
Thanks for uploading… helped me do the job!
Very good explanation, thanks bro
Thanks. halfords couldn't do this for the wife, and I'm away, so I needed to see what they were on about. I don't see the problem. Your video was a great help. I just need to go home and do this now.😅
Thanks for uploading this vid wish i had kept my mk3 mondeo so simple
Nice and clear video,thank you👍

Thank you. That video helped me a lot.
Glad it helped
Great Video Gerard
Thanks Eoin
Cheers mate!
Excellent video - changed a dipped bulb thanks to this. Brilliant.
great help tks
Great! Thanks 👏
Thank you very much for the video it was very helpful. I am in a trouble though. While disconnecting the cable I broke one of the small tab which holds the connector tight to the headlight assembly. Now it shows an error sometime thay front light malfunction and some time the high beam works and sometime it don't.... do I need to get the whole connector replaced or this tab could be mounted separately somehow?
Thank you so much. Your video is very helpful and straightforward. I have this issue with my mondeo, not sure if it happens to other ford mates. The ESP light keep coming up but once I switch off the engine it goes away. It happen quite often now and quite a pain driving it. The mechanic said it can’t be fix. Is there anything I can do? I have this feeling(not a mechanic myself) it might be some sensors. The car runs perfectly fine if these light don’t come up.
You are a life saver ❤️😂
👌💪
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Full watch and support.
thank you
Thanks 👌🏻
Thank you
🙏🙏🙌
Great video, just a heads up, need to put the bulb in first then connect to the harness, it won't sit properly other wise.
Thanks
Would it also be the same for a ford Mondeo Ghia 98
Nice Video.
Low beam don't work but high beam is fine on both sides. Should I replace them and see?
which is the type of front indicator bulbs?
I like how they want you to carry a set of bulbs with you when you go to France etc. But with most cars it's impossible to fit a new bulb at the roadside.
Hey Gérard my question has not link to video but need a answer please of can. With o2 sensor removal sockets are they a one universal size or are they like spark plug wire which have about 3 sizes. I want to be sure before I buy wrong one. Thaks
Hello, to answer your question honestly I am not 100% on all makes and model on that. 22mm 6 pont is the common one/size and the only one I have here in the workshop, I have used other tools to remove a couple as well but I can't remember if that was because of damaged edges on the sensor or it was a different size. If you can put a caliper on it to measure it you would be certain then, also if there are 2 sensors you can measure the easier one, as they both will be the same size.
I hope this helps.
I recommend putting the new bulb into the housing instead of into the electrical connector. I put a bulb in one time into the connector like in this video and when all was back together it was pointing up into the sky. I had to take it back out and seat the bulb into the housing and then push the connector gently into place. I hope this helps someone.
That can be quite hard to get the connector back on though
@@EoinNaughtonMcLove I found it handy enough to push on.
how do I know I got h1 or h2 in my mondeo?
Very good video, but my headlamp has water in it from when it rained. Any advice please?
Thanks David, You have a seal issue of some sort, you will need to either replace the headlamp completely or dry it out and remove all moisture then rectify the issue that is leading to the water entering the lamp.
Take it out and reseal it with a clear sealant clean the original sealant but do not dispose of
You should have shown a close up of how to remove the third plastic retaining screw.
That one was different on my model to what is in the video, but mine was unscrew the philips head plastic screw a bit then pull out. And one didn't unscrew nicely so reaching under and squeezing a little gave the thread enough traction.
I put 200% brighter ones on and they don't shine much brighter infront of my car do you think they are the wrong way
i cannot push back the light inside the bulb, the black lightholder is stuck
Good video... Ford don't make it easy for the Average person t change...
You should see some Renault models where you have to REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER and install the light while lying on the ground...
And no, doing it from the pit doesn't help - bumper blocks the bulb opening.
LOL! . It looks as if the engineer's held up the headlight bulbs and designed the car around them! Same problems in the U.S. !
ha ha ha It is crazy alright, It seems like it is getting worse :(
Gerard Burke Do you know the definition of an engineer? It's the same as a politician ---- They believe there is no simple solution to any problem!
LOL :)
Omg I need to do this on my car 😭
On my partner's Hyundai i30 it's literally a 2 minute job for each headlight.
What was Ford thinking?
Clearly they weren’t. Now headlights are like front transmission sub assemblies, done on a bench while the body is being painted. Great car though first “repair’ in 6 years and economical
You can focus on removing the headlamp in a much greater detail because that is the most difficult part. I have watched 5 videos and everyone explains it a bit differently and I have never made it. Just come back from a pro shop and they struggled to remove the headlamp for 30 minutes and had to call the most experienced guy to do it. You SHOULD also mention that removing the clip (seen it many times done in the shop without removing the clip) does render the clip useless and one needs a new clip to replace it. How am I suppose to know that? I made it on Fiesta and Vauxhall before, headlamp, rear laml, mirror lamp but I can't do Mondeo, simply no way. My is 2013 Tit X Business.
The clip is not a one use clip, I used my wurth pliers to remove the push pin clip and it reinstalled perfect after, I never replaced that clip in any Mondeo I have ever done.
It may look tricky for some but this really is not a difficult job, I have done plenty as have people I worked with. Once you have the hang of the removal rotational position it's straight forward to remove and install.
I try to keep my videos short and sweet and more people mess up on the bulb install from not knowing that type of bulb holder, that's why I focused more on that.
👍👌
@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage Thank you. Do you know the code number or name of the clip? Spent over an hour on ebay and cannot recognize it.
I do not know the part number, it will be a cheap part from the dealer and if you tell them what you need they can source it for you, or at the very least give you a part number so you can get yourself.
Looks frustrating😂
Maybe u will make a video with led's bulbs. I want led's but idk how the hell to fix the problem with this idiot's clips
The LED bulbs I just installed installed just as described in the video
.
I would just add unlike the video the first retaining screw required mole grips to remove on each headlight as they were corroded with rust. Great design Ford! Cometh the EV revolution cometh the demise of Ford.
Ev revolution.
Ee will never have the infrastructure to support ev charging.
Hybrid vehicles yes.
EV ALONE.
NO WAY
Go raibh míle maith agat a chara.
FFS what a joke from ford.
I know I haven't changed all that many headlights, but this is one of the easier ones I've done.
