Also, in 3, I like how they immediately blame you instead of assuming the Enclave had some kind of "just in case" retaliatory attack up their sleeve.
Right like they just know it was you that called down the orbital strike and ya know not the Enclave personal at the Mobile Base Crawler whom the BoS is attacking at the moment, that are ya know in charge of the Orbital Defense Platform. It's not like The Enclave don't know where there base is and it was already demonstrated they could call down strikes when needed via Primes destruction during the outpost assault earlier. I love Fallout 3. Not my 1st Fallout, as I've been with it from the start but damn Bethesda needs better writers and fact checkers. At least it wasn't a walking tire fire and retcon the lore not giving a fuck and ignoring FO 1,2, NV, and there own F3 lore like they did with Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. They remained respectful enough to the previous lore established in prior games in FO3. Still though shit like this is stupid and immersion breaking.

@@benk50000 It’s kind of complicated because the player is the leader of the minutemen, they can co-exist or fight.
@@benk50000Actually, it's a bit odd, in all the endings you end up destroying the BoS, but with the Minutemen, the only way to do it is to become enemies with them, which only involves killing some high-ranking member like a supervisor, the Gladius team, or Maxon. This means that you are actually the one provoking the war in that ending; the BoS doesn't do anything wrong, or at least it doesn't seem like they do apart from the optional mission with the farms. So theoretically, the genocide is on you if you decide to attack them as the Minutemen xD.

I made a quick save after that one mercenary ran off, so I reloaded to see what happened. Went there again and it was gone again, then someone killed me. IMO, if any game was the perfect game for the BoS to have a ridiculous but undeniable foothold, it would be NV. Perhaps the Courier, with their years of experience in the wastes, could convince them that hoarding tech is useless unless it benefits the rest of humanity.
Benjamin Oechsli NV's BOS being weak is honestly the most logical conclusion for the faction. Its weird, the New Vegas chapter could have survived. Instead if trying to kill the courier, they could have simple ran for the exit.
Also they could have simply removed the self destruct terminal... all that science and they not even gonna use it.
I hate the Brother Hood more for its wasted potential then anything else. Imagine if they had a plan, they went into places with the intent of gathering up all the weapons that would destroy any hope of that location rebuilding and killing all the non-human hostile life. They would be easy to feel sympathy for then the way they're currently written if that was their goal. Their self stylized crusade would be worthy of supporting, remove the danger to humanity, and protect it from a distance without getting involved. That's a heroic and honorable way of life. As is it, they're snobbish scavengers who essentially larp around the ruins of the country making life harder for everyone they meet while maintaining a 'holier then thou' mentality.
Only the east coast are kinda sympathetic but they are the exception and not the rule but even then they don't have any real plan other than gun down the enclave and give free safe water to all. Honestly I wish tactics was canon as they are without a doubt my favorite take on the brotherhood with them realizing that their isolationist policy would lead to ruin forcing them to create a symbiotic relationship with the willing tribals, they defend the tribals and the tribals gives them the means to grow and sustain their ranks.
