I hope you guys fully understand just how much you have uplifted my days watching your videos. You gave me hope when I had none Delos (: just hearing the entry song puts me in a good mood and focused on my goals. I just recently had my 3rd spinal surgery in 1 year. and I am finally getting back on my feet and I wouldn't be near as far as I am today without your positive vids, even when things aren't going your way you guys always look for the good. I have lost 40 lbs and almost back to the best shape of my life. 175 is the goal and I am making it happen because I have hope. When I get discouraged I throw on a Delos vid and I am good to go! I'm going to be settling my injury case soon and it should be a good enough amount to get started on my own sailing adventures. Been a dream since I can remember and I have always had an excuse not to. No more excuses, I ran out, bone dry. So I will hopefully see you someday out on the winds. Your all a bunch of crazy, sarcastic, wild, life loving and living mother fuckers and I love it. Never change crew. Your an inspiration to many dreamers, and some 9f us have seen that we can do whatever we want if we get out of our own way (: I look forward to yalls next vid! -future Sv Burley
My Wife had six L4-L5 surgeries then a complication and has never been the same, we use to go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week and dancing once a week. I am saying this so you stick to the FULL PT and give it time! Best of Luck!!!!!
bowl of rice right? haha Im going to have to figure out how to bring some out of Washington state and into other countries on my circumnavigation. should be interesting lol
I am 77, been around a bit but nothing quite like you folks. I have been watching around a half dozen issues so far and am loving them. I envy the memories that you will all have and the wonderful (and very professional, but better) vids! I intend to keep right on watching. Thanks ever so much, they make me feel young again. :-)
so amazing hearing our music in this video :) its places and experiences like these that help us write the music we make :) inspired by life! 2 thumbs up s v delos!
Hello Delos crew, I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these episodes. Brady reminds me of my son James who past away age 23 and his voice gives me great chills because you sound so much like him. I made an episode dedicated to him on my you tube channel Monterio Life. My son always told me I needed to learn how to live. He was the 4th son I lost and because of the crew of Delos I am living on a boat and retiring soon to florida too purchase a catamaran. Hope one day I will meet you all on the open sea. Much love to all of you.
There's philosophy, and there's delosophy. Keep spreading it, Delos crew, you're fantastic. If you come around Barcelona, Spain, first round of beers is on me, and the second too! Thanks for all the goodness.
It probably would have been a good idea to wait a few days before leaving to make sure that bite didn't get an unexpected infection. Glad it worked out. I am so jealous of you all taking off to live your dream & explore the world. I have always found a reason to put it off & I have a hunch that I will eventually regret that.
Really? You want to sit there and call anonymous strangers on the internet names from the safety of your keyboard? You don't see the cowardice and irony in your comment? Get a life.
They had him on antibiotics before he left....so even if it got infected all doctors would do is clean it out and give him meds (which they can do on the boat)
And looking forward to seeing what you guys think of Chagos, the Cruising World editors were all enamored with these islands in last month's magazine...
I have to agree with "Sailing Tranquilo". Another awesome episode that put a smile on my face. I really enjoy the sailing footage, seeing Delos dance through the open ocean.
This video ROCKS! The crew appears to be in Harmony, and in very good spirits. Good on ya mates! Top notch keep them coming looking forward to your next video! Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
I have never missed the ocean and the islands so much as when I watch your videos. I am a island boy and a waterbaby balls to bones and you are all my kind of people ! May the wind always be at your back my friends :-)
Enjoy and be safe. Your living the dream. I have followed you guys since you started making theses videos. You have all come a long way, literally and figuratively.
Brian appears to be able to "fix" any thing.Makes me want to pull the engine out of my Ford Explorer and over haul it just to keep up with him.Love and Peace
Super feel-good episode. Puking, un-stitching, and repairs are quite relaxing from here because y'all are so chill...and the soundtrack was mellow. That's a kick about the auto-pilot. SO resourceful on the fix, and then...d'oh! Don't feel bad. I did the same kind of polarity swap on the autofurling system on a 102' ketch. We were just so used to it working a certain way that when it didn't, we assumed that the entire thing was broken. Only my brain was broken. Peace out.
Love the following seas and winds. We've had that a lot while cruising the islands, and been also able to sustain eight knots. A great feeling when you're surfing 15-foot waves and blasting through without the diesel running!
I wish I would have had this Idea when I was in my 20's! You guys rock! Thanks for sharing with the world, we all get to live a little through you guys! Thanks!
Great video. Another nice addition to the end of a crazy work week here CT. Good to see.., well not really, but even you experienced sailors have to get re-use to the water and waves. It is weird though, watching and waiting for Friday's new video thinking it's current but knowing that Josje is long gone and doing her own thing... Stay Safe in all your endeavors!
Great stuff. I'm a ham radio operator, and there is a way to send messages at a very low cost (masts make great places to put antenna).. and ya know the only real need might be for life/death situations .. but also to get something ordered and drop shipped in advance so the parts will be waiting. In any case, fantastic videos. Good luck and godspeed!
Brian I'm sure you are carrying spares now but that was a pretty good fix to drive on the teeth that weren't worn, I have run into similar problems not on boats but on race cars where we we have used JB weld or five minute epoxy to build up an area and filed down the area to repair teeth very similar to what your problem was, a little Teflon tape on the the drive gear will help mold it so that you have very little to file new teeth. R2D2 is at least a backup. That would have been a , let's call memorable trip hand steering. You left us hanging again, can't wait until the rest of the story unfolds. Stay safe Guys.
Another great SV Delos video. So sorry about days of sea-sickness, but the rest of it was wonderful. This is what I crave, long passages at sea. I can fully understand watching the waves for three hours at a time. I was in the U.S. Navy on two different ships. My favorite times were when we were at sea. No matter if the seas were flat or messy with huge waves and swells I loved it. Thanks for sharing. I hope you can somehow catch up on videos so they aren't a year behind. I donated through UA-cam. Do you get all of that money or does UA-cam take a cut? Is it better to buy you a beer directly?
Hey Bryan, Looks like you got a lot of mileage out of that old linear actuator. I've installed tons of those on the old 3.5 meter C band satellite TV receiving dishes back in the day. If you are having issues with it maintaining position you may have inadvertently moved the encoder and it lost calibration. Oh, and great edit as always Karin!
I love watching your videos, you guys are so great together. I'm glad brady's hand is better,i bet the boat smells better now that he showered,I also hope he didn't shower alone, cause wasting water so far out to seam is not good.!!!! safe journey, johnny b
I discovered Sailing SV Delos looking for a video of a sailboat out in the open ocean to play on my second monitor at work. Then I completely fell in love with the people, adventures and stories of the Delos Crew. But I have a request... any chance you all could post a long video of just the sailing footage from the different points on board like 5:09 to 5:13, and at 6:36, 6:48, 7:08 and especially 8:25.. that way I can splash a little salted water on my face..play it, daydream of sailing out there with ya all, and stare at the ocean for hours too..(9:22). Thanks for sharing such high quality and entertaining stories with us who are land locked...for now...
Oh, just weatherd Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane: Thunderstorm with a Politicians Personality. You know, Blows hard and leaves a BIG Mess. But, due to my wisdom at living inland and on highground, just some lose twigs and big puddles. Cheers and F.W.F.S. M8tys.
Yeah, had the same failure on our autopilot a few years ago. Luckily we only had to handsteer for 70 miles or so, and managed to get a spare part delivered a few days later. The replacement parts were made out of brass instead of plastic if I recall correctly. This year we had the control instrument fail instead, and had to handsteer for about a week until a spare could be flown in.
Delos! Loving the weekly videos! Can't really believe how long I've been following you guys. Best UA-cam channel by far. Sail on up to Seattle sometime!
wow. I'm so jealous of you guys, I love my life with my family but you know that feeling when you need more! Looking forward to seeing you guys next. Safe sailing.
wow the seas were really rolling, sorry it made y'all sick. It looks like your hand is healing good Brady, stop feeding the barracudas . Babs butt is looking fine as always : )
Hi to you all< A fantastic video, especially pleased Brady Is it, (not good on names) AKA Barry the 2nd? has the full use of his hand more or less with so far no apparent problems unless we are missing some details, I am also pleased all you others managed to survive the smell! Take care, oh, and I wanted to be a sailor just like you all but time has run out on my now. BUT the one thing tat cannot be estimated is just how many full time sailors will find the very easy mistake on the alternative drive of the auto steering is to them. Unlucky for you I know, but very lucky for all other mariners, who now know to test and what to do to set up their steering! My thanks to all for the wonderful videos, they give me a reason to live now I am pretty ill with a chest problem and have been for a year. Don’t think I will survive, but your videos make live relaxing easier, than you. x mrbluenun PS. I live in London England.
Brian appears to be able to "fix" any thing.Makes me want to pull the engine out of my Ford Explorer and over haul it just to keep up with him.Love and Peace
I'm the same way with sea sickness. Get real sick when the cruise ship was away from ports. The best thing is ginger and staying up in the open air so you can see out. Get peppermints and ginger candy. It helps alot. Oh and sea sickness pills to! It's to bad you couldn't have stayed in cocos until Brady's hand was a bit more healed. Very scary if it gets infected and you are in the middle of the ocean
Thanks for all the inspiration your videos have given me. I just bought my first sailing yacht last month. She's no Delos, but she's a start...a 31' Moody MKl. I'm looking forward to much coastal sailing in home waters for now. For me that would include Ireland, UK and maybe Bittany someday. Lots of love from SV Mis-Behave in Kilmore Quay, Co. Wexford, Ireland. 💕⛵️🇮🇪
12:51 Whoa! I’ve never seen stitches cut with a blade like that. We always used special scissors that came in a sutures removal kit. I’m not going to lie when I say that doing it that way, especially on a rocking ship makes me nervous! Lol
At 9:59, Listening to them talk about staring at the waves makes me wish that they would film and post 3 hours of raw, unedited footage of the waves. That way, instead of just closing my eyes and imaging it in my head, I could watch and listen -- and dream.
Brady....last year I cut my thumb off on a table saw. the doctors were able to stitch it back on and it works pretty well believe it or not. it was my right thumb and I'm right handed. so for about 2 months I had to do everything with my left hand. it was so tough to do anything with my stupid left hand. wiping my ass was the hardest thing ever. I feel your pain.
Have you guys sailed Northern Europe? Some awesome islands no one knows about. Walking on the ocean floor while the ride is out for 6 hours, discovering marine life in puddles. Visiting museums sand castles and ancient forts on the shores. Would be so cool.
For example, you could look forward to what’s coming up tomorrow (2 episodes of Coleman & Pagey, the inventor dudes from New Zealand and an awesome Nature doc on ravens...just a suggestion 🥸) Anything goes. As long as it’s something that makes you happy. Stay safe. Stay healthy.
autopilot going hard over is a classic symptom of PID loop reversal, which is geek speak for 'obviously the wires are reversed' ( - : someone asked why use plastic gears.... because they are self lubricating and last much longer than steel gears 'at sea' since they do not corrode. Everything wears out, you just have to choose the time period
Stainless steel gears are also naturally slippery and they last alot longer than plastic. But autopilot vendors make more money by building cheap units (that sell easily in large numbers) and using parts that break and wear out frequently (generating continuous income).
I hope you guys fully understand just how much you have uplifted my days watching your videos. You gave me hope when I had none Delos (: just hearing the entry song puts me in a good mood and focused on my goals.

bowl of rice right? haha Im going to have to figure out how to bring some out of Washington state and into other countries on my circumnavigation. should be interesting lol
You will be amazed at how many coastal communities sell weed
That is the best thing I've heard ever!
I heard they heli-drop Navy Seals with dynamite onto any suspect boat, including those whose owners make suggestive remarks on the internet.
wise words, ol' man :)
so amazing hearing our music in this video :) its places and experiences like these that help us write the music we make :) inspired by life! 2 thumbs up s v delos!
Cheers guys, thanks so much for the awesome tunes! Peace and love from us to you :) Hope to cross paths again some day!
Oh gosh, always so happy to see a new episode uploaded, and so let down as the little red bar shows that it is about over.
With that rolling motion no wonder everyone feels nauseous. Nice job of removing Brady's stitches, Josje.
Hello Delos crew, I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these episodes. cause you sound like a coward who is focused on the negative

sounds like a narrow minded perspective
They had him on antibiotics before he left....so even if it got infected all doctors would do is clean it out and give him meds (which they can do on the boat)
Can’t stop watching these old videos they’re great content hahah
Nothing like getting off work, cracking a cold frosty, watching Delos and remembering my prior life in the Bahamas. You guys rock.
Delos is one bad machine, love the shots of full sails with the Delos icon getting his meditation on.
you guys give me a reason to dream big!!
wow dude are you really that lame?

Such an enjoyable watch , such AWESOME SOULS and the beauty above and below the waters, AWESOME videos !!!!
that blue sea -- what an awesome shade of blue!
Love the following seas and winds. We've had that a lot while cruising the islands, and been also able to sustain eight knots. A great feeling when you're surfing 15-foot waves and blasting through without the diesel running!
Not having a great day, but your video lift my spirit.

Frida
I enjoy everything that you guys share, but this was one of my favorites in a while. Thanks.
Fantastic as usual, keep save.
Another very nice vid of nice bunch. Thanks.
Now that is sailing !!!!
Thank You ! love peace & fair winds....
Awesome! Love the middle of the ocean DIY.
I like these old episodes
wonderful vlog as usual, be safe and well guys
I'm with you in spirit from Colorado!! Fair winds!
Hey Bryan,
Looks like you got a lot of mileage out of that old linear actuator. I've installed tons of those on the old 3.5 meter C band satellite TV receiving dishes back in the day. If you are having issues with it maintaining position you may have inadvertently moved the encoder and it lost calibration.
Oh, and great edit as always Karin!
You guys rock! Safe travels and lot's of new impressions! Love watching your videos!
Best crusin video on the planet ;)
I love watching your videos, you guys are so great together. I'm glad brady's hand is better,i bet the boat smells better now that he showered,I also hope he didn't shower alone, cause wasting water so far out to seam is not good.!!!! safe journey, johnny b

So good I'm gonna watch it again, thanks for such great videos :)
Great Vid as always M8tys. this one definitely kept you in ...ahem....stiches.
M8tys.
You guys sure know how to work on that boat! Good job, very impressive.
Always love a new upload from you guys
Delos! Loving the weekly videos! Can't really believe how long I've been following you guys. Best UA-cam channel by far. Sail on up to Seattle sometime!
Awesome video, can't wait for the next episode :)
wow. I'm so jealous of you guys, I love my life with my family but you know that feeling when you need more! Looking forward to seeing you guys next. Safe sailing.
The best thing for seasickness is dry digestive or Rich tea biscuits, the last thing you want to swallow when you feel sick :)
peanut butter tastes the same going up or down.
The bottle in the cockpit sole skidding back and forth made me laugh out loud! Hahahaha
Great video. Looks like you covered a lot of water pretty quickly.
wow the seas were really rolling, sorry it made y'all sick. It looks like your hand is healing good Brady, stop feeding the barracudas . Babs butt is looking fine as always : )
The sea and Mother Nature always wins!
Hi to you all<
A fantastic video, especially pleased Brady Is it, (not good on names) AKA Barry the 2nd? has the full use of his hand more or less with so far no apparent problems unless we are missing some details, I am also pleased all you others managed to survive the smell!
Don’t think I will survive, but your videos make live relaxing easier, than you. x

Very exciting episode!!!
I need more SV Delos please make them longer from florida
Hey Delos!!! I really got sick without your posts! It happens often after 3 days of waiting... Bons Ventos do Brasil.
Brady, hope you are ok now. Ta for this vid.
Delos throwin' flames!!
Priceless ❤✌😎
Thanks for all the inspiration your videos have given me. I just bought my first sailing yacht last month. She's no Delos, but she's a start...a 31' Moody MKl. Anything goes. As long as it’s something that makes you happy.

Stay healthy.
you guys rock I can't wait till I'm out there once this storm season is over
