  • The third and final episode of the Shed Security Series. In this episode I secure my window and give you shed security and my fortification tips 8-10.
Do you recon the spikes are legal?
If so, what should I write on a warning sign.

Thanks, any security is better than none and if it looks like a building has security then they are likely to look for an easier target but i guess a building like yours that might have guns in it then it needs all the security possible so i hope this helped with some ideas.

The spiked window guard appears to be a man trap which would potentially deem it unsafe/illegal.
TBH, those laws must be a grey area as barbed wire and razor wire exist everywhere. Maybe has something to do with being concealed or not?

Hi Scott, Thanks heaps for the comment, you are right to be very carefully about this and research it. The laws are different even from state to state but in my area, if I had previously been broken into and then installed this and then someone was injured, I would be fully liable. However, it is visible, and I publicly stated it is to keep the local monster snake out. To tell the truth it is still just sitting on the ledge as a visual deterrent. The alarm will go off before they even put their hand on it. BTW, I looked up razor wire and was surprised I can get a roll since that definitely is 100% illegal in my area.

If you want to keep the snakes out and have security in mind if you leave the window ajar, make a flywire screen with some expanded steel behind it that when fitted can't be removed from the outside.

@@scod3908 yeah did not really think it through, since during the day I not only leave the window open but also all the doors so I got no hope in that regard. I did not want a security screen for that reason + the cost.
