I don't understand how Pell and Pound surviving is controversial, it was uninamisly disliked by everyone. Might be the most unifying moments of the manga
That controversy comes from a disagreement with the author, not a disagreement within the fanbase. If the ending of One Piece revealed the One Piece to be "the friends we made along the way", almost everyone would hate it, and it would be called controversial even though everyone agrees it's awful.

I hate all these moments as much as the next guy but I will never understand how people were upset at yamato not joining. Yall actually wanted her running around yelling how she's oden all the time? That would literally become a worse gag than sanjis
I'm glad Yamato didn't join, but it did seem for a moment there that it was gonna happen, so I get people being mad that they got baited.
Fr, she was barely a character. And at least Sanji's gag could be funny sometimes
People just forget she looks like Nami. Every straw hat has unique faces. So she was never joining the crew.
So Oda made a dilemma:
o She introduced an annoying character, and blurts about joining the Strawhats
o She stole important and already limited screen time from other more important and major characters
Whether Yamato joins or not yearns both bad outcomes. Bravo Oda for making such damning writing decision where no one wins, not even himself!

The Gorosei explaining the Government's understanding of the Nika fruit when it was revealed in Wano. It keeps getting worse, too, the more we find out the less it makes sense.

@@cjg60411 They both knew / were interested in the truth about the gumo gumo no mi and were not particularly interested in Luffy despite him having it and gaining power. Cipher Pol should have been hounding the Strawhats from Loguetown.
@@davidwilson6577 The Nika fruit has been around for 800 years and has presumably had other users across those centuries before Luffy had it, and the WG has retained control through it all. Most likely they didn't see it as too much of a threat and had bigger worries until Luffy was clearly becoming a big problem in his own right (being declared fifth emperor and challenging Kaido)
Yeah I can see that it didnt get resolved. But what do you mean when you say it gets worse as we learn more about it? I dont think any information since the reveal made it better or worse
@@cjg60411 getting the biggest first bounty ever and being the most wanted person in a quarter of the world should have raised those red flags, and that's in the prologue.
For me, Kid getting one shotted by Shanks was by far the most frustrating moment in the story

@@Miguel_Noether It's not that I expected Kid to defeat Shanks, that would be ridiculous if I thought that. What's frustrating is that this scenario was written into the story to begin with. Wether you like Kid or not, the Wano Arc built Kid up as a character we are supposed to be invested in, and in a way, even though it wasn't earned, there was some character growth there were he was able to recognize that Kaido wasn't his fight. So to take this character that you've built up and given cool moments and just use him as fodder to hype up a stronger character, it actually feels like being kicked in the balls.

Big Mom made the same "dead" face when Law used Shock Willey through her cheeks. I think that face is a sign the character got burned/blasted since both fire and electricity burn.

Personally I would have for sure put Saul being alive and Kaido backstory on there somewhere. Maybe take off Pound, Big Mom, or Yamato. But it was really interesting to see what other people think about these kinds of things

If Hiyori was only using orochis last name to refer to him then its not that bad since even though shes not wording it well she would not have the personal belief that someone should be executed due to their last name so that negative sentiment wouldnt be getting passed onto anyone

I hate how much people underrate Enel. He's still a character beats 90%+ of the verse. The scabbards have ryuo and they're all getting FOLDED by Enel. Only the top top tier can really deal with the volatile logias.
Enel was speed blitzed and overpowered by a pre-gears and pre-haki Luffy. Unless he got a serious power up (which is very possible by the way) he gets destroyed by every decent fighter who knows haki

@@aether5031 I'm not disputing that. Just saying that multiple people (without haki) were able to withstand Enel's attacks, plus Luffy's final attack was able to blitz and overpower Enel (again, with no haki and no gears). So if base skypia Luffy's attack was faster and had enough power to put him down, my conclusion is that every competent fighter who's able to use haki should be able to at least put up a fight with Enel if not completely destroy him. It's literally stated in the manga that logia users who overly rely on their fruits don't last long in the new world because of haki

post timeskip designs are pretty controversial. i'd say nearly everyone outside of sanji and nami looked better pre timeskip.
Brook is exactly the same. Luffy and Zoro simply have an additional scar but are pretty much the same too. Usopp is also very close to his pre-timeskip look

brook doesn’t look the same, he now wears an over the top hat, a feather boa and red floral pants. completely different from his original clean simple black suit.
zoro went off the deep end with how muscular he is, wears a worse outfit and they changed the color of his hair lmao.
luffy now wears an ugly 3/4 sleeved shirt with frills, a sash and again is almost over the top muscular. not to mention how all the characters are now more rounded and soft in their facial structure. there’s a clear difference between pre and post timeskip designs lmao.

Kurogane is Iron
Kōtetsu is Steel
bro, kurogane is an old word for iron. tetsu means iron and "kinzoku" means metal in general

Hiyori was only condemning Orochi, you are letting your blind hatred look past an obvious pun/word play. For all the times the op community tries to look for deep things in the story, you all look real stupid with this one
Obvious pun does not equal a good pun. Poorly executed considering the context of the entire Wano story line.
Honestly, the pun just sucked, plain and simple. It was out of place and inappropriate as the big sendoff line for the Wano arc. The pun doesn't work because its the one and only time someone ever refers to Orochi by his family name. It being a play on Oden's last word doesnt fit because Oden used it to laugh at himself while the Kurozumi clan's name is just once again being unfairly slandered. Hiyori wasnt even the one who killed Orochi despite him being a free kill for anyone who came across him, making her triumphant speech feel unearned. And Hiyori as a character was a dragdown. Possibly worst of all, the pun wasn't even funny or clever.
P.S. sorry about the rant but i had to get this off my chest.
@@beaniepirates6759 nah fam you good. You were spot on, my thoughts exactly. People always try to defend it by saying “oh you just didn’t get the pun” or “she was only referring to Orochi” while completely ignoring why so many of us are upset with the line, as you have so eloquently put it.
Also I would just like to add that this line shows that Hiyori is completely ignorant to the fact that the Kozuki clan’s actions are what made Orochi the villain that he is. By saying that line, she relieves Kozuki clan of all accountability and reduces Orochi to just an inherently evil person therefore undeserving to live and better off being burnt to death. Thus repeating the cycle (even if she was only referring to Orochi - she ignorantly referred to him by his family name, one which has been discriminated against for generations). So what if she only meant it for Orochi, it still demonstrates that she AND the Wano citizens have not learned a single lesson in this long ass yet ineffective arc. This is why it’s bad, plus all the reasons others have explained above.
Hiyori basically wished death upon an entire clan. I'm sure that was not odas' intention, but that's how it turned out in the text.
Pls stop excusing clumsy storytelling .
