You don’t need to take the lay down until $100 in profit. That’s too long of a risk. You are using the lay to protect the inside place bets. Once the 44 inside is paid for, then take down the lay. You are in profit.

Been watching your content for a while now, and just bought my own layout. Found a dark side $15 strat I think you might find interesting. Wait for a point to be established, and continuously make a $15 DC bet. If 4/10 rolls, lay odds of $30 right away. If a number rolls a second time, lay odds of $30. If a number rolls again, increase odds bet by $15 continue process until either 7 out or point is made. If the point is made, make a don’t pass bet of $15 and lay odds as previously stated. Started this strategy with a $400 bankroll and have had decent luck with it.

I'm in the "lose the horn" camp. The 4 should only be a buy.

You could've recouped that 100 lay bet in the beginning, if you used the $40 method. Hit The 5, pays 21, add 3 to the 6 & 8 and they would be at 30. Hit the 8 twice, 70, then the 5 again, 21, then the 9, 21 total of 109. Small further investment, sure, but you would of recapped 5 extra.

If I wanted to get rid of the singles, I think I’d just color them up. I didn’t track the amount lost on the horn in this video, but at a $10 table, it was substantial. Unless a shooter is hitting those numbers quite a bit, I see the horn as a throw-away bet. He obviously knows a ton more than I do about this game, but playing the horn consistently like this just looks like throwing good money to chase bad.
As I mentioned in the $25 video like this one, I do like the overall strategy…I would just nix the horn.

I played this strategy last night on a bubble craps machine, up $270. No horn bets and pulled the Lay after the place bets were covered. As long as you can dodge the easy 10’s, it’s a winner.

the $25 dollar level can afford the Horn . The $10 level you will need to press 22 inside the first 2 hits. then collect a couple of hits & change the Horn to a $2 C , and $1 E which changes it to $3. which will save you $1-$2. you can do this until you get back your money then progress to Green Level which you can go back to $5 horn

I've done this twice this week with only placing the 6 and 8, and not playing the horn. Two -three hits on my 6 and 8, and I walked away when I gained 20%. Pretty decent strategy so far.

    Nice work keep it coming
in my view laying a numbers to protect other bets without winning money is a weak bet I feel that a $200 lay would work better now when the 7 rolls you have protection and a profit and I would take down my place #s after 4 hits and leave the lay up Keep in mind everything works when the dice cooperate!

I think I would up my lay bet to also cover the insurance on the hard 10 because it will be replaced with the place bets 100% of the time. As far as horn goes, I say set a limit like the first 4 rolls. After that, maybe keep a few dollars on a hard 4 and hard 10 as a side hustle. Statistically It doesn't really make sense to keep piling on top of your place bets after that anyway. You would make more just pocketing that $4 every roll.

Awesome videos! I have played craps a few times, but definitely still consider myself to be a beginner player. If you don’t mind I have a few questions that come up in this video and I’m hoping you or other craps players could chime in and help me understand some things.
-Around the 0:40 mark in the video, you talk about the $100 lay bet against the 10, with a $2 vig. How do I know how much the vig will cost me at any casino I play at? Do I just ask the dealer, or is it standard for all craps tables? Same question with the $100 lay bet paying out $50, is it always half for the 4 and 10?
-In this video, you don’t ever have any Pass Line bets playing. I am just curious, why not play the Pass Line? If the puck is off, (all other bets working, with playing the Pass Line), you’d win money if the 7 is rolled, and on the Lay Bet right?
-around the 4:50 mark, you rolled an easy 10, and subsequently lost the $100 lay bet against the 10. After rolling the easy 10, you opted not to place another $100 lay bet against the 10. Why not place another lay bet against the 10? Would that be a good bet considering that a 7 is likely to roll before another 10? Or, is the strategy to only place a lay bet against the 10 once per roll, until the puck is off again?
Again, thanks for all your content, it’s a lot of fun to watch and very informative!

I'll answer for Jermey here, since this is an old comment and you may not have actually gotten an answer yet.
Vig (commission) in craps is a standard value everywhere (5%). The only two questions you have is whether or not the casino collects the vig "up-front" (meaning you pay it when you make the bet, AND on every win) or "at-pay" (meaning you pay the vig to collect the winnings) AND what the casino policy is on "rounding the vig" (meaning whether or not they round up or down on the 5%, or if they even round at all). Some casinos round up (so anything between 25 and 50 is $2), and some round down (anything between $25 and $50 is $1)... some even are even with $0.50 chips.
Lay bets are the opposite of Place bets. If a Place would pay 2:1 (like a bought 4/10), then a lay pays 1:2 (meaning that for every $2 you bet, you get paid $1). You can "lay the 6/8" by betting 6:7 (every 7 you lay you get paid 6) for example.
Yes, you would win money on the 10 Lay and on the pass line; however, the point of this strategy is to hedge a 7 during the course of a normal game. You could theoretically only lay the 10 after a point is established and go 44-inside post-facto, but the idea would then lose a potential inside hit, and the goal is to get your $44 off quickly and then pull down the lay on go from there. If you have a $10 pass line bet, you have to get to $54. The only useful tool you would get is the ability to convert your inside numbers to odds bets, but I don't think it's worth it to have to risk the full lay for another roll. You want to get the lay down ASAP because it's the key weakness in the strategy. TL;DR on pass line with this: yes, you get paid while the puck is off... but the puck won't always be off and you can't pick up a contract bet (which the pass line is).
As to why you don't put up the $100 lay again: Remember, the point of the $100 is to hedge a 7 from decimating our original $44 in. We even hedge the lay with the hardways! If we get our 10 Lay sniped off with 10 easy, the hedge is already taken down. Do you want to risk another $100 to protect your original $44 still now that you're -$56? Heavens no! Your best shot is to hope you get your $44 off the table quickly and then continue to hope for a longer roll so you can recoup the $100 lay as you press your bets up. Imagine what happens if you spend another $115 laying the 10 and taking a $15 hard-10, only to have your shooter hit you with 6-4 again. Now you're very in the hole.
This is the reason why I personally don't play "hedge" strategies. They tend to increase your out-lay without a commiserate decrease in your EVPR (expected value per roll). Hedging, as a concept, is fine... but it gets awfully close to trying to find some magic way of combining a series of negative EV bets to somehow produce a positive outcome (which is mathematically impossible). The _only_ reason I would ever play a hedged strategy is if I was trying to farm comps and I needed some very serious table time, in which case I would probably play a $100 DP with $110 inside, pressing a unit on each roll until my initial layout is paid for and then pull down the DP and continue to free-roll for a large win.

  • @johngaltline9933

Still think you need to raise the lay, in this case to 120, to cover the hard 10 as well as the places. Also lose the horn, It sucks on the $25 table and sucks worse here.
Anything looks good on a great roll... but having the "standard" puts the proof in the pudding as it were showing how this compares. I'd have made plenty on this roll too, with my usual pass line and 6 and 8 placed with a unit raised every hit.

thats an interesting system. i like the always working, most numbers covered while playing the horn, and hedging the 7 with really only two donks. why pull off $100 before taking the lay down? other than losing all the horn bets, once you're up $50 or so, you're playing with house money. why not pull down then and then press collect?

I like this scaledb down version, but the "horn tax" is a bit much. The first time you hit the horn, press the 6&8 or so the $22 press. After that, drop the horn and any time a pressed number hits, use $10 or $12 to press up two of the numbers.

In a regression strategy I try to get out of the hand within two hits. In this strategy it feels like it takes tons of hits to get out of the hand. Perhaps if you took down your lay bet after you've won enough to cover your inside bets (in this case $44)? That should be much less hits. Am I thinking about that correctly, does that make sense?

  • @jimmygilley1624

Is it just me, or do other people see this as not great? It takes an above-average roll length to even get close to profit, and once you do, do you take down lay to be even? Any stretch of under-average rolls, you are boned. What am I missing?

Your lay bet should be 50$ to lower your exposition 100 is way too much of a hole to dig from on a bad day, don't need to win everything Just to cover your bets, just to reduce both variance to win long therm. also, no hard 10, it's a money pit. But the main press strat is awesome. I use a similar system. You need a press scedule...but you need to collect those big chips to balance. so press 2-3 times and collect the fuck out of your rolls, or else you're just giving back your winnings. I like to press 12-18-24, then collect 2-3 times before I start pressing again, as most rolls are short. then you press again on the long rolls.

But if you have a quick 7 out you’re actually up a few bucks instead of being down $44. Can be scaled up to a $150 lay and $66 inside.
