SHANNON-I’m so delighted to know they still make the color “YELLA” I thought they quit making it when I left Texas 30 years ago. When I heard you say “YELLA,” I had to “PEENCH” myself. And then I saw yer Chick fil a card.I’m soooooo homesick, even now. I lived in Tennessee for 4 years too. When I’ve been watching YOU, my aceant reverts and my hubby says “ you’ve been watching Shannon again.” I fought my accent fur years, coz people in California treated me like I was ignert. Then I discovered I was proud of it, and I cain’t get it back completely. Sometimes you need a little age and maybe a kick in the pants to bring you round to where you were. And where I was, I sounded JUST like you!

OMG this warms my heart!!! We live in Arkansas now which isn't that far from Texas but as you know there's no state quite like our Promised Land. And we are NOT ignert, dadgummit!! :)

Not only is it the promised land, but it’s the only state that can legally fly our flag at the same height as the US flag AND the only state that can legally secede from the nation. Terms for joining the Country. So how many people have I offended so far? I do have to confess that I have dual citizenship- Texas and California❣️

Claudette Miskell My Mom was from Oklahoma and oh how I miss her voice and her accent. When we were kids, we would LOVINGLY tease her as we didn’t know if she was asking for a Pin or a Pen. LOL. But we never once thought her ignert and those who do are the ignorant ones. It’s a beautiful accent. I love listening to Shannon too. She’s a breath of fresh air! xxoo

I started art journaling 3 years ago and found you on UA-cam. I had had a box of Charley Harper's bird themed art cards that I wanted to use somehow. I had a brainstorm: I'd use them as focal points for a JB5! So I did the unthinkable and cut them up and was absolutely inspired. The rest of my supplies were randomly gathered, but having that theme galvanized me. I had had that box of art cards for years, only looking through them a very few times. Now the birds are in a journal that I enjoy looking through frequently. I used 6 x 9 inch watercolor paper and hole punched them and used bookrings to bind them. Using 20 sheets of unbound watercolor paper meant I needed a big space for drying them for step one. I only used one side. I set my timer to 30 minutes. I made a cover. I enjoy all 20, but about 5 of them are actually pretty good. So glad you are reviving this.

Shannon, I am a member of the ladies camping group called "Sisters on the Fly" Last year we had a campout in Cassville Missouri at the Roaring River State Park. I was showing a friend of mine how to JB5 and before you know it we had 10 ladies around wanting to do it. We decided to host another camp there this year and call it Art in the Park. So in April we had over 80 women sign up to come learn JB5. We had a blast. I hope they all checked out your channel to confirm all the bragging I did on you. Love ya...
I've heard from a couple of your Sisters and I have to say this is super exciting!! Did you know that Cassville is only about an hour from where I live? Had I known there was some JB5 action going on there I would have shown up to play too!! Y'all be sure to give me heads up next time you're anywhere near NW Arkansas and I'll come see ya. I can't believe you had 80 gals interested in playing, that's so awesome!!! And thank YOU for spreading the JB5 love.

Love your baskets I have some of those, I am trying your J by 5's to loosen me up :) I love the timer Idea, because you don't have to overthink, you prepare ahead of time that it's the timer's fault and gives me permission to really PLAY and NOT THINK!

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I was around during the original JB'5s and actually did it. It was good to revisit it. Thanks for the video and the reminder about just get it down on the paper. I have to have everything perfect and this is a reminder I don't have to do that.
There's a time and a place for perfect but it's not every time you sit down to do something creative. I truly believe if we make sure we spend time just playing and having fun with our supplies, then when we need to make that "perfect" project we aren't quite so freaked out about it!
Shannon, I love you revisiting Journaling by 5s. I was cleaning up my art space and found my two journaling by 5s journals. I just love flipping thru the two. I have some blank 6x6 white journals that are screaming to be used. 😄 You are hilarious!! Love watching your videos!!💗💗

i was thinking about Jby5's recently, then you made a video :) that was a fun day for sure! I too still have my book. I haven't been doing much art, inspiration is there but then the actually "doing" won't come. maybe i need to do this again.
You probably should because I had a dream about you the other night. We were at some weird haunted house together (not surprised!) and it was carnival themed with clown monsters that actually ate the guests so we spent all night running for our lives. I wondered if you woke up the next morning as exhausted as I was!

Of course I love any Shannon Green video --- and my JB5 technique has been much more in line with yours lately -- meaning I actually played along with the hangout and finished each step in 15 minutes --- but I still cringe when people mention overthinking because it seems to be when folks think they are overthinking, they are really still just in the decision process -- i do like that you defined overthinking here as maybe a total block ---
Anyhoooooo --- your video has inspired me now to do something that makes me giggle to think about it -- i can't wait to do it!!! Lol, i will call your attention when it goes live

Stencil question for you. Would your circle stencils fit well on 2 inch circle die cuts. I bought a steel rule die, on clearance, that does 4 2 inch circles. Very convenient for mass production

Lol to its best for everyone! Shannon, you are an amazing woman! I hope you are Enjoying Easter. My 23 year old daughter and her fiance came over. I loved seeing them excited over Easter baskets that they didn't know they were getting. I enjoy the fact that my husband bought everything, and put them together. He even put a note in my future daughter-in-law's basket. He has been a computer tech for over 20 years. He helped convert the Aur Force to email. That gives you a clue about his usual social skills. The baskets were amazing!

A5 is the size I used and tends to be my favorite. Another popular size is B6 which measures approximately 5" x 7".
