    I recently purchased a 1967 Cub. After watching your fuel line replacement concerns, I went to do the same to my cub and discovered that the old rubber fuel line was actually cracked. Great call and thank you for making a video of it.

    She's going to run like a top after all the tlc.
    And I had to smile when you said you had to remember which way the pipe went. My oldest son, who was a Navy nuke, finally convinced me to take a picture of anything I'm taking apart so I know how to put it back together. Woo wee, that has saved me a lot of aggravation. 😁

    Quite a testimony to the quality of those original Farmall Cubs...that it would still be running after all these years even without the best of care and maintenance. So interesting to watch the loving care you are giving it as you are restoring it.

    lol my dad used a worn out steel bristle brush that had been widdled to fit in pipe with a metal rod in drilled hole to work it in the pipe;;;;lol;;;;ya gettin it covered;;;lol;;;;

    My neighbor in Tn.has 2 cubs he uses for cultivating. Its amazing that this day and age a Cub in good shape will sell for almost what it sold for new. I think a lot of people just like em cause they are reminded of simpler times.

    My goodness it was so dirty it would of messed up all the valves in the engine... Thank goodness your so diligent on checking and fixing things right. Now it will run more beautifly! It can actually breath now lol....

    granpa used gasoline to clean everything;;;;had several different brushes to help;;;;had no compressor;;;lol;;;aired tires with hand pump or took sparkplug out of motor and hooked to tire to air up;;;lol;;;;

    You may want to consider getting an auger that fits snug into that pipe to get all that dirt 👍 as for the vent pipe, maybe set it in a tub of gasoline for about an hour then blow it out

    I had to take a wire and solvent and work that tube back and forth, but you can hear the air rush into the crankcase when she shuts down now!

    Next time you're trying to clean something like that pipe take some copper chore boy pads, make sure its copper and not copper plated metal wrap it around rag to fit snugly inside pipe then get a rod from a gun cleaning kit and use a cordless drill it will clean and buff it up in no time I use it all the time cleaning bores of guns after shooting hundreds of rounds of cast lead bullets. Also can use gun cleaning kit, multi caliber on those small pipes and tubing, hope this helps.

    Danny, if you have a old stone set for rebuilding break cylinders is great for using on those air cleaner walls. just watch where there is holes

    The crank case pressure wouldn't build up on that motor at least cause the c60 engine has a breather on the oil fill cap to vent crank case vapor as well

    That's how things were built, back when things were built to last! If it had been a modern tractor, you'd have had to get the dealer to put it on the diagnostic computer, order half a dozen "maintenance-free" parts (a.k.a. THROW-AWAY parts), and paid a few hundred bucks for the same outcome!

    Check the intake tube also and clean the one that goes to the carb to make sure your new carb your getting is geting fresh air and no particulars, just to make sure the oil bath didn’t let anything by!

    PCV, positive crankcase ventilation. If carbon buildup is bad take it off and soak the line in parts solvent.

    Mornin guys. Danny, what I find most impressive is the fact that you do not have any cuts or scrapes or even bandaids on your arms or hands! As busy as we are, I live with at least one it seems at all times. My massey is only going on 40 years old, but is coming along, getting it field ready and a little prettier. Lucas electrics are the worst. Thats why he was the prince of darkness, and the Irish drink warm beer, they had Lucas refrigerators! Coffee almost done, time to feed the animals, years ago my father in law said they eat first. WWG1WGA MAGA GOD BLESS GOD SPEED GOD WINS.

    Is there any way to chemically clean this? Like using some type of soap solution and maybe water pressure if any chemicals are too harsh for it? It's a fascinating machine.

      @@DeepSouthHomestead 5 gal of B-9 chemical cleaner, it will eat paint and all repaint and look like a new. Sand with some 180 first then 320 paper look like a new one

    Danny it's beginning to look as though the engine was not rebuilt. It's hard to believe it was rebuilt and not clean the oil filter, change the belts etc. Maybe he replaced the clutch but engine rebuild is questionable at this point. You are working on this tractor like I would doing it right the first time. Take care

      Yeah I saw the old parts. Most people don't go to the length that I do. They have the mentally if it ain't broke Don't fix it even if your rebuilding it.

      @@billybradyjr6008 This one was not sold as a restoration. Just an engine rebuild and new clutch and pressure plate and brakes. I'm doing the restoration myself.

      @@DeepSouthHomestead I was responding to Paul Van jager’s comment. All the old tractors I’ve seen on market place and Craig’s list have been rattle can sprayed right over the rust and then called restored? Some people don’t even bother masking and taping off the tires!!

    As a gas monkey back in the 60's we had a regular customer who owned a '48 Olds. Every 3 months my job was to drain the oil and pull the oil bath air filter and clean it. Easy but a messy affair.

    If the pipe is that dirty think of the dirt in the wire mesh in the body of it. Pull that body off and wash it out with diesel to get all the crud out of the wire mesh in there.
    Pull that little metal line off engine and blow the brake clean and air through it all. Edit: See you took it off.

    Looks like your engine needs a Marvel Mystery Oil enema, then a decent synthetic oil - you'll get another 50 years out of it!

    Didn't soak the mesh in gasoline? Always use non detergent oil. Pcv not pvc.

      You can drive them from a ladder. Put up batter boards first so you can get it level on a small slope.

    Danny you always talking about pesticides being sprayed you're doing that right and your property you don't know where that spray is going to in your garden where's it going to leech to you should know better than that..? Hurt very well Leach to your fish pond
