Would You Live in a Tiny Home?

- These were unusual stories involving tiny homes. In 2016, Weston and Sarah from Las Vegas traded in a traditional property for an unconventional tiny home community. Also in 2016, University of Texas at Austin student Joe Weber constructed a 145-square-foot tiny house on wheels to avoid taking out student loans. In 2017, TK Devine worked to find a solution to fix Los Angeles’ homeless issue. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.
It’s probably the only thing most people can afford these days
Get real. Not only "these days." SEVERAL DECADES.
So this or the gutter is what our nation offers us now?
Yea
CheaperDIY
That is the goal. It is even worse. 15 min 'smart cities' is the REAL end game and essentially its a prison system based on your social credit score.
The guy building homes for the homeless - Special place in heaven for you Angels like you.
I remember watching a longer program about him a few years ago.
I thought you were going to say something else cause of how you phrased it. I thought you were going to say “special place in hell for people like you” I was in shock for a second. Cause I was like why!? Than I read it properly
"Being out in the street is life or death and with out shelter people die"
They can finally heal correctly..privacy,warm,peace of mind to build confidence to over come
Definitely . It's so sad . I only bring in 25 thousand a year I'm in poverty line . I'm trying get foodstamps . Paraplegic L1 incomplete mom of a son with autism and denied twice for foodstamps already .
6 years not a single drop 💪😠🦁🙏

As someone thats lived the tinyhome/RV experience for 3 years.
I had a choice to get a tiny home or a RV, and the reason I didnt go with a tiny home was figuring out land and where to park it. And RV is more convenient to travel.
Your tinyhome needs to be hooked up to sewer, water and have some sort of power source. Its easier to do those things in an RV vs a tiny home.
Also your space is small, so downsizing is a big thing. If you live with someone, your relationship gets amplified due to being in a small space with little to no privacy.
If you have a place to park it, go for it, if you dont, its a logistical nightmare.
“Good idea bad location” the stupidity of ppl r embarrassing
So true
Homeowners no doubt. Doesn't want to see people try to get a leg up how best they can
@deadeyes4626
*people is embarrassing
Nowadays they have so many stupid laws regarding these things it’s ridiculous!
Yeah, like moving it every 3 days. 🤦♀️
I think tiny homes and van life and all of that is awesome. For adults.... But you can't make your kid live in a closet or in a drawer...
I think it has to do with this situation as well I mean, if something bad happen into someone’s who had kids in the place that they visit a tiny house and we shouldn’t be shaming them
Tiny house should be for couples, singles, elderly people etc. Not for families. Families should live in a bigger apartment or house for the sake of the children
This is why the birth rate is low and declining in western nations
exactly
If they have no where else to go, at least its a roof over there head@saraswinerton7202
You're doing the lord's work blonde Mohawk guy. 😊
the new american dream... living in a closet on wheels....
Just wait til private equity companies start renting these things out
I already do. It’s called an apartment??
Yess that's what I thought
They want to put it on wheels, charge you for rent and parking
@@twilightgardenspresentatio6384normally you also got more natural lighting and a tiny backyard with a tiny house. Plus a tiny house looks and is more cozy than an apartment
@@truehappiness4UThat's only if the home is stationary. But on wheels, why not get an RV?
I'd rather have a tiny home than a home with 20 bedrooms. If your home is big, people want to move in.
Not if you fill the rooms with your hobbies.. aint nobody wanna risk bumping anything in my lego room 😅
Yeah, there was a lady in Hong Kong (HK). She has like over 1000+ sqft. Paying like 7k-8k/month. Says she has no room, so she puts her stuff in the bathtub in 1 of her bathroom. 1 room is fill with racks of shoes, on the wall, not in the middle of the room.
"Tiny House" is yuppy for trailer or shed.
No idea
I’d rather live in a trailer or shed than be homeless
@@alexanderbam69 Of course. Call it what it is. A trailer. Panelling a trailer with wood is not a "house". It's a trailer.
@@sappysuds4545
It's a home 🙄
If I were single, it'd be perfect but not ideal for a family of 5. Maybe for retirement I'd buy land with a tiny house for my wife and I
I lived on a 42 foot boat for three years, and overall, it sucked 😆
Must have been a dump lol
Yeah, they look like trailers inside.
No, not at all. It is a beautiful boat and it was brand new. It just sucked living in such a small space.... IMO
@@SailorsGirl1957make it a bang boat.
If the alternative was homelessness yes but for no other reason unless I owned and managed the surrounding lands.
I do and it's fantastic! And very affordable!
They look cozy 👍
Noooo....u have kids thats not fair for them to live like that. Unless there was a reason to move out ur traditional home.
*out of your....
Yea you’re right.
Leave the toilet now it's your new dishwasher
Buying one right now, never though I would especially in my 50’s. Only thing I can afford now and downsizing from a 3 bedroom home and studio is a brutal process. Found a decent safe area with no frills and I’m adding an outdoor shed as an art studio. Love the idea that if I find land I can move it.
Hell nah I wouldn’t live in something that someone could carry away with them
No just no too tiny
Tiny space means less cleaning time
This 'tiny' home is a normal sized home in many parts of the world.
you will live in ze pods and eat ze bugs
and you vill be happy
Heyyy guys hope you have a good day!!
Yes
In this time an age it works
I’d live in a tiny home Icl. Sounds cozy
This is an underrated market for potential profit too. In near future this will be the norm for majority of 18+ yo people looking to buy and not rent. Or even rent to buy is profitable for the sellers and people who helped invest with the sellers. All trickles down, you just gotta jump in the stream somewhere
Awesome ideas. Wish Australia would do something like this.
Fine and dandy however there's always covenants through all counties. They usually don't allow tiny housing or housing below a certain square footage.
yes as a single person. Very strange for a whole family to give up a larger house just to squeeze their family into a smaller one. poor kids.
I feel like I already do!😂
Let me guess, you're in a large city?
@@iii___iii No, but it's still too petite!
To the people who have some much disdain for the homeless in their neighborhood I hope they know exactly what around the corner for them because this might be their reality tomorrow in the richest and most powerful nation and the rich who runs America don't care not one bit including the politicians
0:03 Top of the screen, Amazing name for a tiny home! 👀
You should be ashamed of yourself 😂
Perfect for the homeless, hopefully temporary until the person gets back on track with their lives! GOD bless them all( builders and residents) keeping the homeless off the streets and giving them hope! Tiny homes should be funded by the government where and when it’s necessary! ❤️✝️🙏🌎 I realize many will not agree ( taxes) but it’s a wonderful idea! / Reality! Blessings and peace to all!
Yes I'm homeless I'd love a tiny home
That guy Elvis is doing a wonderful thing it would be nice if more people would be like him in the world❤
I have claustrophobia. I like the idea more than the reality of it.
I live in a tiny home myself and it’s actually so much cheaper and better for solo living
This is now the American dream
What's the difference between a tiny house on wheels, and an RV? Is there a functional or price difference?
I would live in one, its like a stylized bedroom or camper. They remind me of tree houses but on the ground. Minor problem not good for people with claustrophobia.
Living in a tiny home is easier to clean.
If I was single then yeah I’m not against living in a small home. But with a wife and kids, ain’t no way that’s feasible
Somewhere, a real estate owner is seething at this
I have a small apartment , well I thought it was small. Then I sal my neighbors room , tiniest kitchen good for a single person. And not to expensive. Im just grateful that I have a roof over my head .🙏
Zhc painted those tiny homes for a video
How much ?
Just imagine you're on camping, it'll work.
I could never live in a tiny house it’s way too small.
If I had to, yes. If there’s another option, no.
I would live in a tiny home, the rest of my life better than living under a bridge
@@DerexLuvsJenkins when you compare it to living under a bridge it’s a no brainer, when you choose to sell your home for this it makes no sense unless you were no longer able to afford the home.
This is why I said if there’s another better option I’d choose that option.
@@binjimmyly3423 I’m not a picky person, very little makes me happy as long as I have a bed and a roof over my head. I don’t care what it is.
Imagine trying to date when you live in a porta-potty.
You will have nothing and be happy.😂
What
Tiny house living sucks. Don’t let these people fool you. Imagine living in a shed.
Inside Edition, will you guys ever report on the Boeing whistleblower death???
I see that tiny house as look like a camp?
Each one is $955000 in New York.
I do, a tent, a car, trailer, rv, travelers homelessness.
I definitely would. All my previous apartments were between 650-800 sqft, which was still spacious to me. I'm a single guy. I only need something the size of Motel 6 room. I don't even use the bedroom. My living room is where I sleep, watch tv, play computer games, etc. My ferrets have the bedroom.
You better have good ventilation because when you cook in that kitchen the whole place smells like grilled cheese, steak and ketchup.
Hell yes. As long the rent or buying it is low. We good 😅
Yes please 🙏🏡❤
Why hasn't anybody talked about the "Sloppy Wiener" 0:02 💀
"meeeuhls" "wheeeuhls"
I do. I live in a 20 by 30 log cabin that we built ourselves. We live it
For a single guy yes I would only if it’s Warm and not expensive. I hate my house it’s not heated properly in winter season and expensive mortgage and utilities 😢.
I wouldn't want to live in a oversized dog house
I want to, but my wife refuses... hahaha... I can't blame her though. I can't imagine being stuck in confined spaces for extended periods with myself either.
TOO. SMALL.
Well when you like me living in the hood a tiny home doesn't sound like a bad idea but still I'm not picky I'm satisfied where I am 😂😂😂😂
Yep...If I had the funds I'd build one that was underground
😮😮
If I want to pay the rent I paid for a 4 bedroom, 2 story home 15 years ago…. Why not?
Lisa sounds so sad here
1:32 Nimbies. The world is weird. I understand the feeling of not feeling comfortable cause of some homeless people do have mental and drug problems. Some just suck in general cause they’ve always been bad. But I feel like the organization is making sure who can stay and who needs to leave. I guess I would have to see for myself. I don’t want people to be homeless forever. Sometimes they need some help.
I would
My dvds wouldnt even fit in there
Let alone my other clothes & the rest of my stuff 😬
“Built the house on wills”
TRAILER. HOMES.
That's not even close to be a 2x2.
Quedos to those who made this possible.
That is just as big as my shoebox house; I live in Mexico...
I’d rather build a shanty
In this economy, yes yes I would
Didn’t ZHC and his team do the tons of mini homes?
With no landlord then yes
With annoying neighbors then no
If I'm employed and renting can I still live here?
Yes, you can buy or rent a tiny house that has not been specifically designated for the unhoused
Aaah, the American Dream.
Notice how they have no space for meds and other essentials that arnt food.
For 15k it’s better to save for a deposit on an asset that won’t lose value
What happens if they can't make payments....it's bye bye house 👋😐
Not for the price they go for. 150k starting for a decent one.
Thats 40k more than i paid for my 2 story house & 2 car garage on 1/4 acre 😬
Just say how it is( Hoover housing) this happen during the great depression
Give homeless person😢😢😢
As a 35 year old woman who is 4’7 lol
I would fit in to live in a tiny house 🏡 ❤😂
The tiny home neighborhood reminds me of animal crossing
Losing your house when your husband dies should be a warning for women. Get a job. Feel bad for her. She never thought homing was going to get so expensive
Tiny home, or big mega mansion 🤔
no
Anything with a roof over my head and somewhere to put food drinks and sleep and have electricity and water im about to be homeless cause i couldn't pay my rent
Yeah, no thanks.
You’re just entitled, you think life owes you more pretty sure if you had to you you would
@@DerexLuvsJenkins you wanna trade places to see how “entitled” I really am? Cause I'd be more than happy to do that.
@@GalvatronStudios why would you want to trade places, you want to live in something smaller than that tiny house I bet you’re living in a house right now
@@DerexLuvsJenkins I live in a one-bedroom apartment with three other people and I have no door let that sink in for a bit.
@@GalvatronStudios I live in a tiny unit with only a living room lol, fortunately, I don’t have any roommates, I could see how that would suck
