I don't agree with chairman Zembe sentiments about the size of the banks balance sheet My view is that the size of our banks are mirrored to the size of our economy eg does that make sense to have Zig currency being anchored by 2.5 tonnes of Gold or 300 million what's that figure the RBZ is bragging about it shear small mindedness .Israel with 9 million population has GDP of 500 billion while Zimbabwe is 37 billion hence you expect the banks economy to be in tandem with the country economy. It means you are contradicting yourself by saying Old Mutual financial base is stronger. This may be interpreted to mean the shareholders have been taking money from the banks instead of building it
