Black Hole Sun, the song, was a masterpiece in my humble opinion. It’s release was right after Cobain’s death so to me and what I’ve read it was not about Cobain’s death. Cornell had heard a news anchor reporting a story and had mentioned black hole sun and he thought that would make for an interesting song title or lyrics. So he went home and wrote. And here with are. The video is creepy but this song is intoxicating! “CHRIS CORNELL: I wrote it in my head driving home from Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, a 35-40 minute drive from Seattle. It sparked from something a news anchor said on TV and I heard wrong. I heard ‘blah blah blah black hole sun blah blah blah’. I thought that would make an amazing song title, but what would it sound like? It all came together, pretty much the whole arrangement including the guitar solo that’s played beneath the riff.”

Half of these songs would be top 10 charts if released today.
I'm not disagreeing, but that only goes to show how low the bar is now.
This generation could not appreciate the sound of good music sad to say
Michael Bay directs Vanilla ice video, Vanilla ice has a cameo in Teenage mutant ninja turtles 2: secret of the ooze, Michael Bay produces 2 TMNT reboots, the 2nd has ice ice baby in it... DAMN
That’s a whole lotta GARBAGE
Slow music is not for him!
Hard to believe 1990 was 32 years ago, which is also the age I was in 1990. That's life for. One moment you're admiring your high school diploma and the next thing you know you're 64 .
Damn, the 90s were a wild time. What a time to be alive
well damn. I was today years old when i learned Eddie Murphy and Michael Jackson had a song together.
Yea I’m 49, and I NEVER remembered that they did a video.
I was about to say how could you not remember “Do You Remember The Time” probably MJ’s best song of the 90’s where Eddie plays an Egyptian pharaoh and also features Magic Johnson and Iman. Then I saw they actually sung a song together.
If you want another cheesy Eddie Murphy video look into “Party All The Time” produced by and featuring Rick James
@@NotMeNaNaNa “I do remember the time”. I was talking about the featured song in vid. I just forgot about that duet, but I never heard or saw the video.
I think they just found a list of 20 popular music videos from the 90s and rebranded it. I was expecting tool, primus, Manson, Hanson, jemariqui, busta or missy videos. This was the decade that gave us Jimmy page playing a lead while puff daddy danced infront of godzilla. Gotta step your game up
@@joemomma8058 totally agree. Definitely a LOT MORE “RIDICULOUS” videos out there than they talked about. Though a couple of them I would put in that category.
I still listen to Aqua. These guys are the best
@Jason Mistretta I agree
Same here. They're awesome. I have the Aquarium album on Spotify. It's my favourite pop album ever. Love them or hate them, you can't deny their music is catchy as fuck.
I was in my 30s when "I'm too sexy" came out, still think it's one of the funniest songs & videos ever made. Still cracks me up.
I will always love Groove Is In The Heart because my cheerleading squad choreographed our competition routine to that song and won second place. So many fun memories.
You know you've hit rock bottom when it's midnight and you're watching a flying David Hasselhoff sing hooked on a feeling.
Badly
Yep
Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now , was written by Jim Steinman, but was originally recorded by Meatloaf. Released only as a bonus track on a best of album, later rerecorded as a Duet with Marion Raven, then officially released on the "Bat Out of Hell III" album.
I remember meatloaf had a song and video that looked similar in the 90s too.
That's why it reminded me more of a meatloaf video when I first saw it. Thanks for letting us know that.
I miss those days when you have to wait for 4 hours straight for mtv to play your favorite music video hahaha. My favorite mv when i was 11 is closer by 9 inch nails.
you were a weird kid
Closer is still a classic
@@gab_luc more like a kid who has good taste.
Those days were amazing and hilarious
@Joe Brooks because those times were just enjoyable, I was a kid in the .90s and a lot of new video clips back then felt like an event, like how it happened when BB or MJ released a video, I remember my entire class getting a break because not just our teacher but all the girls in my class were such fans of them
It's All coming back to me was one of my faves :) Nothing better then trying to belt out those notes as you sing alone while watching the MV :)
Quit playing games with my heart was every teen girls fave lol
Blacked holed sun was so creeping but great, all at the same time
You wasted or disregarded the "Honorable Mentions" section for promoting SoundMojo?! Seriously...why?!
I liked Weird Al's parody of the Give It Away video.Weird Al had some great video spoofs back in the 90s.
I was thinking "Yabba dabba do now!" all during that.
My favorite - Amish Paradise!
@@queenboudicca31 yeah, that’s his biggest hit.
RIP Coolio
Being a partying teenager in the 90's, this list was fun to run through again.
Those are breads and buns. I see no starfish no matter what anyone says!
"we dont know whats trippier, the greenscreen effect, crappy CGI, or seing Justin Timberlake as a 15 year old kid"
I died XD
My first thought of the qpgwmh video was "I don't know why they're dancing in the rain with open shirts, BUT I LOVE IT! (Especially when Howie body rolls)
David Hasselhof was one of the most horrible things from the 90s. Besides that, and the German duo "Modern Talking", the 80s and 90s are my favourite.
So let me get this straight I am TV was going to ban the backstreet boys video of quit playing games with my heart because of them singing and dancing slowly in the rain versus what the hell MTV airs now GTFO LMAO 😆
So glad I grew up in the 90s, best decade for music, and the last one for greatly listenable, danceable, and deeply moving music.
Yes 90s kid here!
The 80s were superior… and that’s coming from someone who grew up in the 90s.
The 70’s were far superior
The 80’s were the best for movies
Me too!
@@ingGS Exactly! The 80s were far more superior than the 90s and even the 70s!!! 80s RULES!!! And I'm a 90s kid too! 😁
90s MTVs are way more better than what we have now. missing those glorious days.
💯
1000%😢😢😢😢
"Intentionally corny" summarizes a lot of the 1990s
Ahh the 90s!! Still listening to 90% of these songs on a regular basis.
Being a teen in the 90s was awesome! 😃 (I miss the 90s )
Me too..
We all miss those heartfelt, dreamy, fun and free days!
Same. I miss the prices, clothes, and the fun...
I was a kid lol
I was a 1990's teen as well, and I agree, it was an amazing time.
I think that there is even a song with the same title
Respect the 90's. It's unfair to roast something taking into consideration today's standards.
I still really get touched bye alanis morrisette. And am I in the wrong time frame,. But. Where's Bjork in All this??
Today has no standards.
@@youcantspellghostwithoutgo26 I was JUST gonna type that! 👍
@@youcantspellghostwithoutgo26 got that right! I just cant understand it at all... and some ppl are so proud🙄😱
@thammychan....the 90s were a cheap copy of the awesome 80s ....
When I first heard blue da ba dee, I thought he said "I'm blue I believe I would die"
I’m blue, if I was green I would die.
"Im blue I would beat off a guy" can't unhear the memes. Help
“I’m blue, I’m in need of a guy”
😆😆
I would bleed, I would die
Nostalgic also in the sense that it reminds us of a time when MTV ACTUALLY played music. Yes, it actually did exist. They even had MTV2.
90's were the times when every music genre and even films were trying different things, experimenting with different ideas and everything was making waves, given equal exposure but now it seems its only "garbage" rap music and "woke" bullshit!
"Barbie Girl" is still one f the best meme songs of all time.
I’d still take that BSB video today! I was convinced I was going to marry Nick 🤣❤️
for me it was Nick and Brian who were my 2 faves. Justin and J.C. were my 2 faves from *N SYNC
They were all crazy.
That's what was so good about the 90s. Everything was like that lol
How are most of these songs ridiculous?a lot are favorites of mine🤗🥰
One of my favorite songs in the '90s was Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega 😀
