Left NYC for the Poconos 3 years ago, no regrets. I visit NYC 2X a month. My 4 bedroom mortgage is less than a 1 bedroom Apt in NYC ✌️

If you want to flee NY for another state and work remotely for your New York job, thoroughly research Convenience Rules, or you may find yourself double-taxed by your new state while you still have to pay New York state income tax.

The crime is getting worse and then we have these liberal loser prosecutors who feel that our prison policies are unfair, so they allow the worst criminals out on a $1.00 bail. That's why don't accept a job that ties you to NY. Stay away from civil service jobs and find a job that is more versatile hence, remote computer based careers. My neighbor is a systems analyst. He doesn't have to leave his apartment and he says that he can move anywhere in the country and work remotely. Why bother dealing with all of this aggravation? I think it's time to go.

The free market economy does not exist. Supply and demand does not exist. Wealth is owned by millionaire and billionaire landlords, bankers, and corporate CEOs. They can sit on empty property, literally, for decades. I worked in a 23 historic landmarked building across from the Wall Street Stock Exchange for 15 years. For much of this time, the building only had... four tenants. That's right, hundreds of apartments sat empty. Leaving a building empty of tenants is financially advantageous to landlords. If the building were forced to lower rent or rent to lower and middle income workers, this would lower the asset value of the building in which owners borrow against. My building was not the exception. For years after 9/11, 75% of housing below Canal Street sat empty. Wealth is not generated from hard work but from the amount of money elites are able to borrow from banks and when banks fail, our tax dollars are used to bail them out. In an attempt to gaslight the masses, the Fed calls bailouts "quantitative easing," though this is nothing more than welfare for the rich. New construction in NYC serves the elite too. Luxury apartments are the perfect vehicle for oligarchs and shady foreign actors to hide their assets from the people they've stolen from. More often than not, these apartments sit empty too. Now you know why we have a housing crisis. Our federal government does nothing about this. There is no "conversation." There is no legislation. The housing crisis will only get worse. You will own nothing and be happy.

    Crime is up
Graffiti all along the Beltway and out in the Suburban areas.
Trash (People littering and throwing food out the car window
SPEEDING (more speeding and car crashes than ever! We never had some much reckless driving here.

Assuming you're already in FL, we sure hope you left any of the city attitude or mindset (if you had it) in NYC. Sadly, people from NY have the worst reputation here due to their nasty attitude and mindset. Just a reminder that you are in a southern state, please remember that. You left NYC for a reason.
