i hope that in s2 they’ll open with the scene with annabeth meeting luke/Thalia and then going to camp, making his betrayal have so much more meaning to annabeth. that’s why I think she waited so long to intervene, because she didn’t think Luke would actually hurt Percy
And then when she finally does intervene, she has to tell him she heard everything? We realize that. We just watched you turn visible, standing right next to where they've been talking. But don't worry, the show is good And when she does intervene, Luke runs away because she has a sword? Annabeth isn't that trained with a sword. Sure, she's better than most - having been at camp for 5 years - but her choice of weapon is a knife and Luke is far and above the best swordsman at camp. But don't worry, the characters are well written And when she does intervene, we get no reaction from her? Even though she's idolized this guy since she met him 6 years ago? Even though she just found out that her best friend, who's ALWAYS been there for her, is a traitor to everything she believes in? Even though in the books, she spends the next 3 years unable to do anything against him because there's still good in him? But don't worry, Leah Jefferies is an amazing actress
Kinda similar to the Sea of Monsters movie's opening. I'd love this as a flashback as the episodes progress tho but I hope they'd stick with the nightmare just like in the book.

As far as storytelling perspective, I really liked seeing Percy's remorse when he ended up slicing at Luke by accident, and especially how at 0:54 and 1:03 you see this utter devastation when he realizes Annabeth now knows, it's like "ah great, my best friend and little-sister-figure knows, how can this get any worse?" like he's lost everyone at this point, it makes him so much more human and I guess it gives him all the more reason for him to run through that 'door' because he's got nothing left at camp now. So along with his alliance with Kronos, at the same time it's like "I can't stay here anymore," and he's miserable about it.
Yeah, but in all fairness it was kinda hard to see at night and the only light source was that campfire so it's understandable why we couldn't see it and hopefully maybe we'll see it in season 2 (Which has definitely began filming and they even picked an actor for Tyson)
Realizing that Percy and Luke were no where evenly matched. Percy was a twelve year old boy fighting a 19 year old, he was terrified, and didn’t want to fight. I’ve cried over this before.
For me this fight is better than the one with Ares, both for the setting (the forest is very beautiful with flashing fireworks lights), and for the direction and choreography, nothing special, but better than those with Ares. It's also a nice change, because it's a novelty even for those who don't know the books, and the spell to open the portal is also very fascinating. Unfortunately, it gets a little ruined in the finale, with Annabeth barely reacting, but their relationship should be crucial
Think this means we're going to finally hear something from Netflix about the Kane Chronicles movie adaptations that were announced at least 2 years ago?
Luke: join me, and we can put an end to the Gods! Percy: ummm..... dude..... tempting as that offer is all my stuff will go bye-bye if I sign on with your boss.
In the books, Luke and Percy went to drink some sodas by the lake when Luke reveals everything to Percy. However he doesn’t duel with him in a sword fight but rather places a poisonous scorpion on Percy, who later passes out when it bites him.
It honestly wasn’t in my opinion, I thought the scorpion was really cheap and confusing to the plot. I honestly like that they fought better. Plus in the show the betrayal scene was more sad, in the book, Luke’s betrayal was just a way for Luke to say f you to Percy, like when he said “You should have died in the Tartarus” in the show it was more painful because Luke truly did care about him. But that’s just my opinion.
This show trully did capture the story from books. Season 1 was awesome but it definitely had some hicupps which only occured when they ventured too far off the original story or tried to "fix the plotholes" from the books. I really hope they focus on all fhe good things of this season in the next one and not try to fix anymore "plotholes" from books. The story was always meant for kids and not everything needs to make a 100% sense to be entertaining.
