Well, we learn from the past. Plenty of cultures didn't want women to get jobs Even in the 90's and they met 3 decades before then. So that means they were raised on values DECADES before then. They couldn't see it back then, it was normalized in their culture. Now we're more aware of age-gaps more than ever I think. but I know as a Korean-American, watching movies and hearing old stories they really wanted these girls to find a POTENTIAL husband by the end of highschool. If you could get someone already established who had a job ( which took priority over age similarity ) that was looked at as good! Because " You don't need a boy, he can't take care of you. " When really we shouldn't have been pushing relationships at all that young. I mean, especially in Korea what was the point? we live with family for years anyway sometimes even after marriage like wtf?

My Gran and Great Gran always told me I was a pretty girl and I think that made the biggest difference because almost everyone else said I was ugly. I remember being bullied so bad. Now I am almost 49 and I may not be the prettiest woman around but at least I have a good heart. I think whoever told Cher she was ugly was absolutely insane.
I always thought cher had unique beaty.

Cher is right... In the USA, dark haired women are viewed as evil, sinister and powerful. And blonde as desirable, beautiful and feminine..She says a lot has to do with Disney films portraying the villain as dark haired and often times the maiden in distress with lighter hair (except Snow White and Mulan). It seems to be mainly in the USA

Cher is a Goddess. I didn’t know until I read the comments that Sonny married her when she was 16. That is so messed up and he didn’t deserve her at all. Times have really changed because the entire world watched them like that was normal.

I’m from 🇬🇧 UK and I find the American line of questioning on talk shows , just plain bizarre ! Why do so many of the female interviewers have such creepy voices ! How rude to ask her that ! Beggars belief !

I am not a woke person, but this is the most heinous sad abusive behavior by Sonny. Very shameful. Cher has overcome so much. This interviewer should be ashamed of the questions she asked. Worse than the Barbara Walters Dolly Parton interview. We have come a long way and further to go.
